FBI: Calif. Man Hoped to Incite ‘Civil War’ by Framing ‘Anti-Government’ Right-Wing Groups for Terror Attack

Matthew Aaron Llaneza Charged in Bomb Plot, Wanted to Frame Anti Goverment Right Wing Groups

Credit: AP

Federal agents arrested 28-year-old California native Matthew Aaron Llaneza on Friday after he allegedly attempted to detonate what he thought was a car bomb outside a Bank of America in Oakland, according to the FBI. Llaneza, a Taliban sympathizer, plotted to blame the attack on right-wing, anti-government groups in a bid to incite a “civil war.”

“Llaneza’s arrest was the culmination of an undercover operation during which he was closely monitored by the FBI’s South Bay Joint Terrorism Task Force. Unbeknownst to Llaneza, the explosive device that he allegedly attempted to use had been rendered inoperable by law enforcement and posed no threat to the public. Llaneza was charged this morning by criminal complaint with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction against property used in an activity that affects interstate or foreign commerce,” according to an FBI press release.

Prior to his arrest, Llaneza met with a man he thought was connected with the Taliban and the mujahidin in Afghanistan — though he was actually an undercover FBI agent. The terrorist suspect suggested carrying out an attack against a bank in the San Francisco Bay Area using a car bomb. He planned to carry out the false flag attack and make it appear as if “the responsible party was an umbrella organization for a loose collection of anti-government militias and their sympathizers.”

“Llaneza’s stated goal was to trigger a governmental crackdown, which he expected would trigger a right-wing counter-response against the government followed by, he hoped, civil war,” the FBI release states.

According to the criminal complaint, Llaneza drove the SUV that he thought was equipped with an explosive device and parked it beneath an overhang of the bank building and he “armed” the trigger divide, a cell phone. After retreating on foot to a safe location, he placed two calls to the trigger device attached to the fake bomb. Once it was clear that he intended to successfully carry out the attack, federal agents arrested him.

The original target was reportedly a Federal Reserve building, however, Llaneza decided against it due to the strong building security. Officials did not immediate reveal if there was a specific group that he hoped to blame for the terrorist act.

Llaneza appeared in federal court in Oakland on Friday morning. If convicted of plotting to carry out the terrorist attack, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Ah, I remember the “good ole’ days” when our government used to create false flag attacks themselves. Things like Waco, Ruby Ridge, and the Murrah building come to mind. Our gov’t needs to be raised to the ground and our Constitution needs to be put back in its rightful place.

If the guy wanted to really make it look like a right wing extremist did this, he would have gone after a gov’t target. Or maybe a place like the U.N. or “Federal Reserve”.

      Here’s the real question.

If the governement were to crack down, whether it be caused by a real event, or a false flag event…would the right rise up in fury? Would there be a civil war?

Probably not in the instances you mentioned. But, believe me, just fighting short of all out civil war would destroy this country.

All out civil wars don’t usually begin over one incident or a set of incidents occuring in a short period of time. There’s usually a lot of different things occurring at the same time which builds up to civil conflict.

When the analysts speak of the possibility of civil conflict they’re not usually referring to an all out attack on the government….at least not in the beginning.

For example…very briefly….an economic collapse would undoubtedly bring on austerity riots, which would probably splinter off into ethnic clashes due to a cessation of social freebies. These would be occurring across the entire country, which the government forces would try to contain without favoring oine side or the other.

In the process of it all, many government military and police would be injured and killed, with many more breaking away into whatever respective group they agreed with.

In short, the fighting would intensify and the entire country would explode into a chaotic mess that would be devastating economically, with supplies, power and water cut off to the urban areas.

Many areas would demand secession and get it….like Texas, for example.

Now that this has been publicized, and the feds are the hero’s, what an opportunity for them to pull off an incident and say it was another one from this group, or the right wing took advantage of an opportunity to use the incident for their cause.

He has also, at one point at least, advocated Jesus/Gandhi “Non-violence” in response to Federal Tyranny and Oppression. Bizarrely similar, as a Domestic Policy, to Ron Paul’s twisted riff on Foreign Policy to justify his dissing of the Murdered Sniper. Personally, I think, and no less a light than C. S. Lewis agrees, that Pacifism is essentially Suicidal as STATE Policy, and I would further suggest that to Hold Up the Founders as a Model and then overlay Pacifism on top is a Cognitive Dissonance of Clinical Proportions. That Glenn’s head appears to be in just that spot is disturbing.
From the Street Violence that greeted The Sugar and Currency Acts (1764), the Stamp Act (65) and the Killing Fields of Lexington and Concord was a bare decade. Washington, upon receiving the news of Lexington and Concord at Mt. Vernon, wrote to a friend: “The once happy and peaceful plains of America are now to be either drenched in blood or inhabited by slaves, sad alternative, but can a Virtuous Man hesitate in his choice?”
Evidently Glenn thinks one can. We’ve been “hesitating” from Teddy R. and Wilson until now, over a century, and Glenn appears to be advocating Pacifism on top of even more hesitating. Or maybe we simply no longer have Virtuous Men of Washington’s Caliber of Courage.
I think Bonheoffer made a better choice, though it Martyred him.

I beg to differ, Chris doesn’t sound like an extreme left winger. He sounded like a left leaning libertarian.

He was obviously a registered republican, since he had voted for John Huntsman in the republican primary. He just wasn’t critical of Obama, more than likely, blinded by his own version of racism.

There’s only two reasons I’m not cheering this guy on.

      1) He killed civilians
      2) He pushed hard on the AWB

Otherwise, and I read his Manifesto (or better yet his 20 Page Suicide Note) and I can almost understand why he’s doing what he’s doing. Is he crazy? Yea. Is what he’s doing illegal? Absolutely. But the LAPD, has clearly proven after shooting up innocent people as they go on a cop-killer rampage that many of the things he spoke of in his letter is more than likely just the tip of the iceburg of corruption not only in the LAPD but many police forces across the country and our own government.

This man reached his tipping point. One day soon, each of you, including myself, will reach a tipping point. It’s not a matter of IF anymore, it’s a matter of WHEN.

And if the LAPD can’t even handle one guy, how will they handle thousands, or hundreds of thousands?

BEACH: Bingo. The guy who just tried to blow up the American embassy was a Marxist. We have been Occupied by the OWS, an ” anti-capitalist” movement. They all have international ties to the Black Bloc and anarchist groups. Our Chicago radicals share a bond. Remember Bill Ayers tried to destroy American capitalism in the 60s and he is still trying ! There is much afoot and it is all Left driven. Witness Obama being droned upon America and the Far Left MSM covering and enabling the Far Left which now controls the Democrat Party.

Who actually did the “PLOTTING” here?

If he was suppose to be the master mind, he would have rigged the bomb himself.

How much did the FBI push the guy into actually making reality what he wanted to do. They obviously got him the SUV and rigged it for him. So how much more instigating did the FBI do? Is it wise to be out there instigating? What if he had lost trust in the undercover and put real bombs in the SUV instead?

Maybe it’s just my almost complete distrust of the government and the FBI. Not saying this guy isn’t crazy or not accountable for thinking he was going to blow things up, but I’d like to know how much the FBI instigated him.

It’s the same routine with the feds and you’d think they could do it differently just for the sake of variety.
They find some half wit like this who can’t create his own device and put on the show for the people. To say the kid wasn’t a pro is the understatement of the century and the feds obviously coached him.

Yeah SOY, the FBI should have left him alone so that maybe he could approached some cartel members and eventually would have had a real bomb. Only arrest them after the damage is done. Just screw spending all those big bucks on law enforcement intel since they can’t arrest them until the deed is done, or in this case, the act. Honestly, and no I am not kidding or joking. The re-occurring theme is that FBI uses crazy or stupid people and turns them into terrorists. You were never in any danger. But the sad thing is that people like you will see this FBI action and then be thankful that ‘someone is looking out for you’. Unknown to you, you are actually the problem because you are willing to sacrifice a little liberty for safety. You are being used

I saw to much of the activity around the Grand Central Mosque in London to know that too many Muslims hate us & this was a few years before 911.

This guy will be outed as a “right-winger”, who was attempting to stir up his right-wing fanatical compatriots, with this attack. What is even more ironic is that the setup is a false flag attack in itself, and designed to allow enforcement and monitoring activity against “right-wingers”, as well as media villification and propaganda.

Now there will be even more excuse to apply the NDAA and other measures against “anti-government militias”, i.e. anyone critical of the government that owns a gun.
