A security guard opened fire on a “suspicious” 15-year-old boy at a Food and Drug Administration facility in Bothell, Wash. on Friday, police said. It was not immediately clear what compelled the guard to shoot at the boy.
The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. in the parking lot of the FDA’s Pacific Regional Laboratory Northwest, KOMO-TV reports.
The security guard who shot at the boy is employed by a company contracted to provide security for the FDA facility.
Sgt. Cedric Collins of the Bothell Police Department say the teen got into a car after being fired at and soon crashed into another vehicle about a mile away. He was transported to Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, Wash. with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive. It was not immediately known if the teen was hit by the gunfire or if he only suffered injuries from the collision.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots on Friday morning. Further, tire tracks were visible leading from the street to the front of the FDA bluing and across a grassy median.
“Northshore School District’s Secondary Academy for Success was placed in a modified lockdown due to the nearby police activity,” KOMO-TV reports.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Department of Homeland Security was also on the scene along with local law enforcement and other federal officials.

Feb. 9, 2013 at 11:31amThis is your FDA folks. Another criminal arm of a criminal administration. Wonder if the guard used an “assault rifle?”
Please let the parents sue the living $#@% out of the FDA.

Feb. 9, 2013 at 8:48amSo what was wrong with just letting the boy go and not getting behind his car? Just get his license plate as he drives off. And besides why are they trying to stop him if he was leaving????? Does anyone else think that the police and security guards over stretch there use of power? If the boy was no immediate threat to the company then just ask him to leave.

Vets and retired military far far far outnumber active duty, reservist and National Guard combined. Another thing to note and its really sad to say but, nothing happens in the military without some civilian federal employee, contractor or local vendor allowing it to. How does the Army get its diesel for their M-1s? Do we have our own oil wells and distilleries on post? Nope. The diesel is trucked in or piped in. Who drives those trucks? People like you and me, citizens of OUR country. And it’s not diesel but everything, food, oil, ammunition, replacement parts and the oh so under valued til you don’t have it toilet paper. So when you stop to think about it the chances of the government going all 1930′s Germany is ZILCH. We are to headstrong a people, to individualistic a people, to put up with that sort of foolishness.
Ok, I’m done with my rant. Carry on.
