The Day’s Cute Kid Viral Video Will Have You Gushing: 3-Year-Old Caught Red-Faced in the Sprinkle Jar (But Wait Until You Hear His Denials)

It has been quite the week for cute viral videos. There’s been the little girl gushing over her first train ride and the baby that wakes up instantly and dances in her car seat when her favorite song comes on, just to name a couple. And now, meet little John.

John’s mom caught him this week raiding the sprinkle container. How did she know? the evidence was written all over his face:

Child Caught Stealing Sprinkles but Denies It in Cute Viral Video

But 3-year-old little John was adamant when confronted that he “did not” get into the sprinkles. And he denies it several different ways, and using “grown-up” language that will melt your heart.

Watch the dialogue between John and his mom:

Now before you go thinking that the video only glorifies lying and is teaching little Johnny bad habits, read what his mom wrote on the video about teaching him a lesson:

After I filmed it we had a VERY long talk about the difference between telling the truth and not telling the truth. He has an amazing imagination and loves to tell us stories. I saw this as a sweet moment, something that every child goes through…where they try to push the boundaries to see how far they can go. And I thought I’d share it with my friends and family. And apparently, the world seems to enjoy it, too. We are currently working on the difference, and he is doing really well. :)

Side note: My son does NOT have a filling or a cavaty. He was eating breakfast at the time of Sprinklegate, and that is just some of his breakfast cereal in his food. It is a low quality video, and it just showed up in a funky color. But he does NOT eat sweets all the time (ah! Hence the binge!), and his teeth are healthy and beautiful.

Now watch it again — because we know you want to.

After raising 5 children, here’s a little advice, Mom…sitting down and “talking” with a 3 year old does little if anything to stop bad behavior. They aren’t able to reason at that age, so you’ll be better off with some form of discipline lovingly administered. Sometimes the most loving thing to do is apply the “board of education to the seat of learning”.
My own folks did this, and my brothers and I learned real quick not to lie…

Hey, don’t you know you are just supposed to “enjoy the video”

Lord forbid you give an honest opinion on how to correct your child from lying. This kid lied over and over. He knew what he was doing and the perfect time for him to learn his lesson. Shared this story through Twitter and was basically told to shut up! If Mr. Seidl knew how my girls cherished “their word” and how truth is so important, he wouldn’t judge. Disappointed on the feedback, it was a parenting tip :/

Will be careful which stories to share from here from now on.

Come on, lighten up a little.

All children lie when they first realise that their parents are not all-seeing, and that they can sometimes bluff their way out of punishment. Believe me, I have definitely been there.

There hard part is to act sternly when one is screaming with laughter on the inside. I’ve had to bite my tongue very hard on the odd occasion to stop the giggles bubbling out while remonstrating with one of my darling daughters.

His mother will do the right thing, so just enjoy the video…

Well, then, we must make him Corporal John…

“an Irish soldier plunders a pig for food. Looting is a capital offence in the British Army, but when Wellington catches him the looter claims the pig got lost and he was trying to find her relatives. Instead of punishing him, Wellington orders the soldier to be promoted to corporal, for he “knows how to defend a helpless position”. -Wikipedia: Waterloo (1970 film)

I for one find this video infuriating. Sprinkles are destroying the culture our youngsters are growing up in and it’s time we stop the carnage these sprinkles are causing. No wonder we have so many violent acts among the younger generations and this video is proof of how sprinkles are turning our children into immoral fibbers.

It’s obvious sprinkles should come with serial numbers, background checks, and psych evals. I’m writing a letter to Diane Feinstein and Mayor Bloomberg immediately.

Also, February is now Sprinkle Demoralization Awareness month and is symbolized with multicolored scauses.

One day while sitting at our dining room table, out of the corner of my eye I saw a little hand reach up and take the sugar bowl off a low extention bar from our kitchen cabinets and carefully lower it down and a minute later place it back. Recognizing the hand as beloning to my youngest daughter, I called to her and asked what she was doing. A small blond haired poked her head up with a big sugar mustache and said “nothing”. I asked if she had been in the sugar bowl and she said “no Bucky did it. (Her twin brother)” I was startled that a three year old could lie like that. I picked her up and went to a mirror and pointed out her sugar mustache, told her she had storied to me and gave her a couple of swats on the behind, That ended the sugar bowl raids at least when dad was around. I still wonder how a little child can learn to lie at such an age. Oh yeah, her twin brother would do the other things and blame it on his twin sister. Same response from dad. I belive it taught them to take responsibility for their actions. They are both grown and I am very proud of them.

This is a “CHILD” guy/gals and a child who does not “lie” or use their ” imagination ” around this age grows up to be closed in, unable to express themselves. He will learn from this lesson, and calling them

Kind of what I was going to say. When my kids lied, there were consequences, not just a talking to. Depending upon the severity of the infraction. One of my girls stole a pack of gum, so I took her back in to talk to the manager. I winked at him as I was telling him what she did and he played along, saying maybe we shohld call the police. She learned her lesson.

No he isn’t. His mother is teaching a lesson. A lesson all children must hear. Kids lie to avoid punishment. Short of Jesus Christ himself, every kid tries it. The solution is just what the mom is doing. We need more parenting as this mom is doing.

“Kids lie to avoid punishment. Short of Jesus Christ himself, every kid tries it. The solution is just what the mom is doing. We need more parenting as this mom is doing.”

Again, I agree. We are ALL born into human nature which is sinful nature. No matter what political ideology or afiliation (all of that is irrelevant when it comes to human nature), NONE of us need to be taught how to lie – it does come naturally in this world of sin – to avoid punishment. I actually laughed when I saw that kid back up in the end clutching his pant legs. It looked like he was trying to avoid a spanking. He’s three. He will learn to be honest and walk in the ways of truth as long as his parents keep up what they’re doing.
Someone said that “just talking” was not going to do it. True. Just talking ONCE or TWICE is not going to do it. Any parent can tell you that you can repeat some things 20 times before it sinks into your childs brain! Sometimes spanking is needed (God knows I’ve had to do it many times), sometimes a talking to, sometimes taking away privileges – sometime all the above. “Spare the rod, spoil the child” comes to my mind. The shepherd used a staph to help him walk and he used the rod to GUIDE the sheep. Tapping them, getting their attention and GUIDING them back in place. This mom is doing the right thing because she’s not sparing the rod (guidance) because she knows she will spoil her child otherwise.
