CNN Anchor Asks With a Straight Face If Global Warming Is to Blame for Asteroid

“A 150-foot-wide asteroid will come remarkably close to Earth next week, even closer than high-flying communication and weather satellites,” The Associated Press reported earlier this week. “It will be the nearest known flyby for an object of this size.”

And for those of you who want to know more about this floating “megarock,” dubbed “2012 DA14,” CNN’s Deb Feyerick has got you covered. Indeed, she was there on Saturday to ask the tough questions: Did global warming cause this asteroid?

Yup.

“Every time we see a storm like this lately, the first question to pop into a lot of people’s minds is whether or not global warming is to blame?” Feyerick said, referring to snowstorm Nemo.

“I’ll talk to Bill Nye, ‘the science guy,’ about devastating storms and climate change,” she added.

After going to a quick commercial break, the CNN anchor jumped right into discussing climate change and “2012 DA14″ with Nye: “Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, of global warming or is this just some meteoric occasion?”

Oddly enough, Nye — who has made it his mission to challenge what calls scientifically inaccurate claims — didn’t see fit to inform Feyerick that the asteroid has been around for a lot longer than carbon-emitting SUVs and jets.

Maybe he was at a loss for word.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, scientists say the rock “will be at least 17,100 miles away when it zips past next Friday,” the AP notes. So no need to worry.

In Drudge or http://breitbart.com this would be an entertainment throw away story. But at TheBlaze it is about as hard hitting as Glen Beck is brave enough to post.

However, the asteroid as a complete and separate topic, could this be coming closer than they are saying? Just saying! Its not fear mongering to take what you know to be headed our way and ask, are we ready? If not, then what?

Sandy came and they warned everyone, Nemo came and they wanred everyone! Fine!

Hopefully they will tell the truth to the people when destruction comes from outer space.

She’s representative of the brainwashed masses who now believe Global Warming is responsible for every natural disaster, from earthquakes to locusts.

The truth is, if we could warm the Earth by burning fossil fuels, we should be burning as much as we can because a warmer planet is far more beneficial to life than a colder planet. We are, in fact, headed for another Ice Age, and we sadly have no control over that.

And there tens of thousands of our citizens that will think there definitely could be a link between the asteroid and global warming, climate change or whatthehellever. But no problem. It’s no crime to be so stupid as to be on par intellectually with a mollusk. Where I have a problem is that these intellectually crippled people still manage to find their way to the voting booths and therefore influence how I can live my life. I don’t like. I don’t like it one damned bit. There is no difference between a moron deciding who your president is than having the grocery store teenage ****** perform brain surgery on you. Either way your prognosis as well as everyone else is dismal. But the profoundly stupid, by being so stupid cannot realize that they are the reason things are getting bad.

  The right to vote in this country was not meant to be universal. Originally, only free land-owning male citizens at least 21 years of age were eligible. Each of those requirements were loosened as years went by, and we are now facing the disastrous results. In an ideal world, a national voter’s ID card would be issued, and would have to be shown in order to vote. Only those who passed the same test required of those seeking to become naturalized citizens would receive the card. This would not only minimize voter fraud to an insignificant level, but would eliminate the millions of voters whose understanding of government is on a par with their knowledge of quantum physics.

Forgive me for sounding like Captain Obvious, but just how close is this 150-wide asteroid coming to our planet? (contact could conceivably have the same effect as one of our largest conventional weapons, if not a small tactical nuke)
