‘Have We Seceded Already?’: Miss. State Supreme Court Accidentally Flies Confederate Flag

In a mix-up that probably upset at least a few people, a maintenance worker accidentally hoisted the Confederate flag atop the Mississippi State Supreme Court building on Friday.

“[P]eople responsible say it was because of a packaging error,” WJTV reports.

“It is unclear exactly what the situation was but apparently the person hanging it up did not notice a difference,” the report adds.

The Confederate battle flag flew for about two hours on Friday afternoon, according to several reports.

“Have we seceded already?” Joseph Parker, a professor of political science at the University of Southern Mississippi joked, according to ClarionLedger.com. “The execution is faster than I thought.”

Kim Wiggins with the State Department of Finance explained that the maintenance worker meant to replace the state flag, which was tattered, but ended up accidentally flying the Confederate flag because the boxes provided to them by their vendor were incorrectly labeled “Mississippi State Flag.”

“A maintenance worker put the flag up at 2 p.m., and it had been replaced by 4 p.m. after the mistake was realized,” she told local reporters.

“It’s unfortunate,” she added.

All of the states who realize what the F*** is happening need to pull down the current US flag and run up the Betsy Ross.

I am replacing all of my US tactical flags with Betsy Ross versions alongside Molon Labe patches as soon as my package from Gadsden and Culpepper arrives.

You might want to look up the Betsy Ross flag on a google search, it is not a Confederate Flag. It was the Original flag of the United States.

PLEASE, people — I may be nit-picking here, but what was flown was the battle flag of the Army of Tennessee. The 1st national flag of the CSA was the one known as the “Stars & Bars.”

In my opinion the States should all refuse Federal Money, especially since it has far too many strings and insinuations.

But that is hard to do, when politicians depend on votes from many people with their hand out.

And the fact that the money the Federal Govt. is so graciously passing out was taken from us to start with.

HOW CAN WE APPLY FOR AN MISSISSIPPI PASSPORT

The Key West Conch Republic seceded with Democrat blessings and now has its own flag. By next week over 40 states may be flying a new flag at their post offices. Lets open up the oil and natural gas spigot. The taxes on the New Republic’s energy sales will more than pay for its taxes needed. The New Republic can hire all those 24,000 US Marines that Obama is kicking out of the Corp and buy all of those aircraft carriers Obama is getting ready to scuttle.

Or perhaps Oklahoma was virtually recession proof because of natural gas. If you want to live in bankrupt California, or New York where people are leaving in droves, or even Illinois which has it’s own financial problems, it’s up to you. I so fondly remember reciting the Pledge of Allegiance when I was young. “One nation,” it said, “indivisible,” it said, “with liberty and justice for all.”

You may think the the Pledge says “One nation, invisible…” But the actual word is “indivisible,” which means something that can’t be divided.

You probably also said that pledge. But, as someone said, the states who want the nation to be divisible, and who want to secede, are the “taker” states. And really – let’s be honest – it’s not the states, it’s just a few kooks on the internet, most of them probably uneducated and on food stamps. The people who are living off the government dole. More bark than bite I’d say.

Meteors, you left something out of that pledge.

      I can’t put my finger on it, wait… I almost have it…

Since you are such an expert, perhaps you could remind me what you skipped, since you have such high regard for the pledge.

And it seems that the left has stopped that from being recited anymore, so I suppose it is no longer binding.

Perhaps you should read some of the speeches and sayings of the founders of this Nation. They were pretty clear on such things, and the rights of the American people to throw off the shackles of Tyranny.

But nevermind, they probably don’t have those kinds of things on the websites where you get all of your information.

And you likely have never been inside of a library before, unless you read the Communist manifesto in the socialist utopia of a college you were indoctrinated in.

I’ll help you out, though, since I am a helpful individual. Common Sense, The Bill of Rights, The US Constitution, the Federalist Papers etc. are all available for free in digital form on the Amazon marketplace and probably on the Apple Store.

      Happy reading.

There is nothing wrong with being divided, it all depends on what you are being divided about. We should be united while still remaining individuals. However, if someone must choose between being united with evil or divided with good, they should always choose good. Remember, we were a nation divided on slavery. We can’t be united just for the sake of being united, it must mean something, and we must be united on what is right.

Really? You want to be honest?

Well then, you have to admit that homosexuals are guilty of spreading diseases far more than the average Southerner that you despise so much.

For example studies reveal that: “1) 80% of syphilitic patients are homosexual; 2) about one-third of homosexuals are infected with active anorectal herpes simplex viruses; 3) chlamydia infects 15% of homosexuals; and 4) “a host of parasites, bacterial, viral, and protozoan are all rampant in the homosexual population.”

Another study found that: “1) amoebiasis, a parasitic disease, afflicts around 32% of homosexuals; 2) giardiasis, also a parasitic disease, afflicts 14% of homosexuals (no heterosexuals in the study were found to have either amoebiasis or giardiasis); 3) gonorrhea afflicts 14% of homosexuals; and 4) 11% of homosexuals had anal warts.”

Another study found that anorectal sepsis, a potentially toxic bacterial infection, is 4 times more common in homosexual than heterosexual men.

According to another study, the “prevalence of EBV type 2 [the Epstein-Barr type 2 virus] among homosexual men was significantly higher.”

Now, to be honest, do you blame Southerners for wanting to secede?

It is nice to see some backbone in this country. But hate likes to control people, their thoughts and actions. Good honest men fought on both side and they also deserve respect. If the bars and stars is racist then democrats would also be racist. Most democrat that were against slavery became Republicans. But then hate mongers always love fuzzy math.

The Stars and Stripes no longer means what it did (a flag I served, by the way) since there is no longer “the Republic for which it stands”. We now have a Socialist Democracy of the People (mob rule).

As a scout I hoisted the red white and blue each day in front of my school. I lowered it and folded it in the afternoon. As a boy I made a pledge everyday. I pledged my allegiance to the flag of the US of A, one nation under God. My allegiance lies with my Lord first. Many people in this nation have set their faces against God and I am seeing increased hostility toward his children with each passing day. I no longer recognize the nation I once so loved. I hope they flew that flag intentionally and I would not be surprised to see more confederate flags in the days ahead.

The battle flag was adopted by the CSA army because the stars and bars could be mistaken for the stars and stripes. Eventually the CSA incorporated the battle flag design as a canton on a whiteflag, the “stainless banner”as the second national flag, eventually adding a red vertical bar on the fly edge, which was the official national flag to the end of the war.

The federal government does NOT have the authority to make such a decision. (Before you libs start crying… read Article 3 of the Constitution and try to find some text in it to support your belief.) The confederate battle flag is a symbol of the battle over the tenth amendment and state’s rights, not slavery. Lincoln’s war started in 1861. He didn’t write the emancipation proclamation until 1862 and it only freed the slaves in the confederate states. In other words Lincoln didn’t end slavery and he never freed one single slave. The Betsy Roth flag, the Gadsden flag and the Confederate flag fly in front of my home and I’ll probably shoot anyone defacing them!

I know it’s a popular belief, and is taught in school now, but the civil war was NOT about slavery.

It was about the right to be free of the union, and self governing, to include taxation.
Slavery was a peripheral incident that has been used out of context. This is how the democraps tie the Confederate Flag being flown to slavery. The original “Stars and Bars” represented 13 states, or colonies that fought for their independence from the northern union.

Guess our original southern states could see the corruption coming, that is created with a system of a few making decisions for all.

I personally do not believe in, or agree with slavery, however I am PROUD of the Confederate Flag, and what it stood/stands for. The south had it right then, and those same principals still stand today.

Just as the northern union wanted power, and control then, they still shove it down our throat now.

Secession is a VERY real possibility, that would likely ensue after chaotic civil clashes comprised of austerity riots and ethnic clashes that erupted due to another economic plummet which MANY TOP ECONOMISTS are forecasting, and more likely than not will come about.

And if you’re thinking of martial law as being effective, better think again. Just overwhelming widespread violence is enough to economically collapse this country and weaken it militarily to the point where the federal government would be glad to allow secession just in order to reduce the ongoing conflicts. And the government itself will break along lines of race, politics and ethnicity, just as it did in the Balkans and every other domestic conflict in history.

I get a real kick out of Encinom. He’s learned to stop just short of calling for the immediate genocide of all southrons (which he has actually said on here before), to saying we’d be better of “rounded up by the FBI”.

He, Glenn Beck, and David Barton – all agree that the CSA Constitution was “all about slavery” – then overlook that the CS constitution had no more in it than the US and its laws of the time. None of which were changed for the duration of the war. On all points of constitutional and law, the two nations were the same regarding slavery. They forget 4 slave states were Union, and an additional slave state was added to the “Union” during the war, West Virginia.

      The real differences:
1.) No “General Welfare” clause. It had been used to institute subsidies to Northern industry and shipping. The preamble also specificly invokded God and established the independent character of the States.
2.) The CSA government placed restrictions on “alien” voting – you had to be a citizen to vote.
3.) Subsidies were specificly outlawed by the CSA Constitution. No money could be appropriated to any industry or branch thereof.
      4.) Severe budget restrictions.
5.) The President could not make “recess appointments” without later Congressional approval.
6.) The Congress could not author or pass amendments, only a convention of States could.

Also, for the first time on the Continent, the CSA granted the Indian Nations direct representation in the House.

Actually, the Confederate flag is called a “flag” when flown on land, and a “jack” when flown on a ship at sea. Initially, in the Navy of King Charles II, “Jack” was used to describe a small version of anything (like “mini”). In this case, a small version of the flag was flown on a staff at the bow of a ship when in port (for identification purposes). In later years the small flag staff on the bow would take on the name “jackstaff”. As ships modernized, the jackstaff was replaced, but the name “jack” remained as the correct (modern) term for a national flag on a ship in harbor or at sea.

An example would be the British national flag, which is only referred to as the “Union jack” when flown on a ship at sea–otherwise, the “Union flag”.

It is true that a resolution of the British Parliament in 1908 made it clear that “…the national flag shall be the Union Jack….”, however, this only served to confuse the issue for civilians. Clearly there weren’t enough former sailors in parliament to thwart the foolish resolution! ; )

The Civil War or more correctly referred to as the War of Northern aggression had less to do with the evil of slavery, but more to do with the killing of states rights and the spirit of 76, which was self government. It was all about a stronger central government. Everywhere else in the world, even in the north slavery ended without bloodshed. The South was not trying to impose its will on the north, or take over the north, the south simply wanted to separate. Winners write history and distort the truth. The myth of Lincoln continues and when his own words are questioned the Lincoln lovers make excuses and dismiss those who question his own words. Glenn Beck always said ,” question everything, even the existence of God, do your homework look it up yourself, don’t take my word for it!!” I guess that stops with Lincoln Mr. Beck!!

i wonder who time2 considers ‘far right jokers’…..

Since liberty/constitutional minded folks are aligned with the left in his mind, that rules us out. I guess he considers people like Rick Perry and Newt as “far right jokers”. Not that i disagree with that, but i wonder what kind of party he thinks he has when half of it is against him. At least we know that our future is not from these republican types

      TechEngineer,

Study the differences of the Constitutions at the time of the war. Best link to do that – having them side by side. You be the judge.

Wanna know how the two governments operated early on in the war? The Cherokee declaration of causes is a good read.

Extrapolate the answers to your questions from there. Enjoy.

COUS1933. Distract and deflect. That question has already been answered. I was told The Blaze had a large concentration of low informed Paul supporters who like gnats harrassed, irritated and persistently tormented the average Conservative poster to the point of polarizing yourselves. Which is par for the course in old Ron Paul land. You talk about liars? Get real. Never let it be said that Paul supporters live in reality or our universe for that matter.

The only disappointment is that there seem to be so few of you left after the election here. I am truly disappointed that I didn’t see the full force of the gnat population in harrass mode. I seem to be left with the ash and trash. I am truly disappointed.

CIRCLEDWAGONS. You were a Paul supporter? I spoke about “low informed” Paul supporters above. I need not write more.

I appreciate the links.. I just bought two books dealing with the Civil War period yesterday.. I have a couple around the house that I’ve not read. My intimate detailed knowledge of the Civil War and the Confederacy is woefully lacking.

I look forward to researching and learning more.

Now I’ve studied a good bit of World history, Biblical history, Puritan history, US Founding history, 19th century German, Russian Revolution, WW1, and WW2 but I’ve never focused in on the Civil War..

It’s rather apparent that the North wrote the history and that most of what surrounds the history of today is sensationalism and myth.. Regardless I want to know the details of exactly what they were haggling over I bet it is the exact same things that we are fighting over today.. LIBERTY!

My hatred for the filth in DC and NYC grows daily.. I can just imagine what the Southerners felt like around 1860.. Although it scares me.. I don’t want War nor do I want to harm anyone.. I only want to be free and to be left the hell alone.

But this filth in DC keeps pushing.. they want to control everything. and imo they will not be satiated until we are in literal shackles.

thanks again. I’ll study the links.

It was pretty much zero up until the Civil Rights Act..

I had a friend that showed up at a precinct meeting this weekend and he just kept bitching about Obama and how he’s breaking the law, he’s doing this and he’s doing that… etc

I tried to tell him that the only law we have in America is the law of public consciousness of the people which is directly manipulated by the Media at any given minute on any given topic..

People by and large still just don’t get it even though I’ve been screaming about this issue more than any other for going on 3 yrs on this site..

The Media is the most powerful tool the Gov’t has.. If we are to win or if we are to survive we have to corner a Media market.. Plain and simple.

One can do nothing with the aid and influence of Media.

Actually the Media today serves as a front for the banking industry or Federal Reserve.. No way the FR could exist without the aid of the Media.

      TechEngineer,

You are welcome on the links. If you are well studied in the history topics you mentioned, particularly the 19th Century German “war of unification” and know anything about the “Spring of Nations” in 1848 – I want to make a couple of additional book recommendations. Really only two need to guide you into a wider understanding of our war in reference to the world histories you already know.

I’ll give you the titles and authors, you can search them for yourself:
1.) “Lincoln’s Marxists”: Al Benson Jr., Walter Kennedy
2.) “The Revolution of 1861: The American Civil War in the Age of Nationalist Conflict”: Andrew Fleche

#1 is a “far right” book. #2 is a “far left” book. If the truth indeed lies somewhere in-between – those truths ring very loudly in common citations. You’ll be shocked.

Yes, the more you study – the more you’ll find out that the things we’re fed up with currently – are the things the folk fighting under the Battle Flag were also fed up with. Including Socialism/Communism.

When you get tired of reading books, go over to m a r x i s t s . o r g and read through the Civil War writings of Marx and Engels. You’ll get an eye-ful of truth over there. Just like today and the rediculous speeches of Trumka, Marx never mentions slavery without equating it with the “plight of the working men of europe” (Communists). Marx was on the side of the Union, wonder why?

I have no doubt that many of those, acutely aware of the growing feeling of dissent in this country, who saw that flag viewed it as a welcome sign of rebellion against a tyrannical government. I’m sure that it sent chills of fear down the spines of a good many “underinformed voters.”
