On Monday, Pope Benedict XVI became the first pope in 600 years to resign. The 85-year-old says he no longer possesses enough strength to carry out his duties as pope and plans to step down at the end of the month.
In an eery occurrence, the basilica of St. Peter’s dome was struck by a bold of lightening just hours after Pope Benedict announced his resignation. Here’s the photo via the Daily Mail:
Do you think this was a sign from God, or just a creepy coincidence?

Feb. 12, 2013 at 4:00amLet me start by saying that i am a believer, that God doesnt have to end the world the way a book says he will, or can choose not to do it at all, I like to ponder everything, and just toy with what ifs. If the next pope names himself peter though, then I will likely aknowledge that the end days are near. Simply Below will be checked off profecies that have occured already(or are in the process of occuring)
Israel ressurected √
Corrupt society √
Push for one world government √
Violence in the middle east (leads to war from there)√
China has a capacity for the 200 million soldiers that are mentioned (population that fits in the age range)√
Apparently, the false prophet will be known as peter the roman(and will be the 112th pope(not part of revelations though) to be confirmed
More devastating earthquakes √
Society who are opposite of christ teachings(ie selfish, greedy, immoral etc) √
Lukewarm churches(that dont uphold the churchs sound teachings) √
Christians being persecuted for their beliefs(anyone not see how this is happening) √
church leaders corrupting from within √
Temple being rebuilt (half check) they apparently are planning its design at the moment.
False treaty with israel(has not happened yet)
So for me, i will remain skeptical, until i see and learn more. But i will be freaked, if the next pope is petertheroman.
Fact is, if God is gonna go end the world by the methods he described in the bible, then it mayhappen soon.I

Feb. 12, 2013 at 10:48amRepentance is a state of mind – ” The cause to feel regret or contrition.” – Webster’s . There are many events in the Bible where God held back His Judgments Nineveh is one City that God took His judgment away because the ” Whole ” City repented – the Book of Jonah, for example. But, the End Times are Dispensational , Prophesies of God, that have relevance in the nature and amount of sin in the World – one day its cup will be filled – Six six six, then the ” man of sin ” will be revealed, and only those that have given their lives to God will be able to resist its influence – although Tribulation will have reached its precipice. And, ” That,” I refrain to speak of, because the vision of it is to horrible to imagine.

Feb. 12, 2013 at 2:56amWell, we are all here talking about the strike and we know God made nature or science if that is what you choose to call it, so I would say he sent it for us to see. What we gather from it is our own choosing. I take all lightening strikes as a warning from God. Most of the warnings I take to stay clear before it hits if possible.

The last Pope (#112) will be called ‘Peter the Roman’. Under consideration is Cardinal Tarcisio Pietro Bertone, from Rome. (Pietro is Italian for Peter).
Interesting.

Feb. 11, 2013 at 11:57pmProbably a coincidence. How often does lightening strike St. Peters? You would think , every now and then, anyway.
QUESTION: Which one of these scenarios are most likely; 1. Election of a Latin American Pope? 2. Election of a European of any nationality? 3. Election of a Black African? 4. Election of Peter the Roman according to St Malachy’s prophecy?
More on this below:
Ever Heard of St Malachy’s Prophecy? Will the next pope be the last as his prophecy says; One called “Peter the Roman?” Do you know how many of his pridictions that seems to have come true? This article might just interest you wither or not you have heard about this.

Feb. 11, 2013 at 11:15pmTo those of you seeking proof of God I will pray for you. I pray you find that bit of truth that will lead you to Him. I cannot proove it nor can any of the faithful. You see in order to truly understand you have to have faith. Only the failthful shall see. I know you may feel it a “cop-out” but it is simply the way it is. Look for the Lord with eyes of a child full of blind faith and you will find Him. To those that do believe, do you feel it? Something is amiss and I cannot say what for sure, but it is there. Perhaps as Christians it is time to stop fighting among ourselves and be ready for whatever is coming. He is with us! Always has been always will. Be strong in your faith and pray diligently for those that attack with hate. Cast aside the chains and kneel in humble prayer to the Lord. I am sorry to you that want more. I really wish I could give you the answers or “proof” that you seek.

Feb. 11, 2013 at 10:59pmRE”Mapache” and his typical atheist observation
“t was a sign that liquid and ice particles collided and built up an electrical field. Once the electric field became large enough it discharged into the ground or in the Vatican case a lightning rod. Nothing to see here….move along.”
Proving once again that atheist simply can’t comprehend the concept of God. What would a computer programmer use to send a signal to the avatars living the the virtual reality he created? Would they need to see his other-dimensional hand ( which they would be able to see) to accept it was a sign from God? They have a really underdeveloped brain.
God states in the Bible that he will use the elements in this creation. Read Mathew 16:3

Feb. 11, 2013 at 10:42pmA “bold” of lightening? The Blaze is in desperate need of proof readers.
Yes, the bolt of lightening was directed by God, but I don’t know what the message might be. Maybe God just wanted to draw our attention to the Roman Catholic Church.

Feb. 11, 2013 at 10:20pmHere’s the truth: Catholicism is a false religion and a cult, no different (in essence) than Mormonism, JWism and Jim Jonesism. Read the scriptures. Study them. Meditate upon them. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in all of that. Find a true, bible-believing, God-honoring local church and get plugged in. Flee the evils of religion; draw near to God in true saving relationship. Confused? Lost? Sit quietly before God and tell Him (hint: He already knows). Talk to God – He’s a GREAT listener to those who will listen to Him!
Oh, and 1 more thing. If you’re a Catholic and shaking in your boots at the thought of “leaving the church” (cuz they tell you all the stuff that will happen if you do), I left and the only thing that happened is that the shackles of religion fell away and I stepped into the freedom of worshiping God in spirit and in truth. Try it – you’ll like it! God will, too!

Feb. 11, 2013 at 10:51pmI’m open minded. It could have been God or an angel or the devil or a natural coincidence. However, of these choices, I find the natural one to be absurdly “on the nose” in this case.
As someone pointed out, this isn’t a sign to unbelievers that they should follow Christ. They’ve already been given that sign. However, this could be a different sign and to believers.
