Excerpts From Rubio’s Response to State of the Union

Excerpts from Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-Fla.) response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech via Drudge Report:

“This opportunity – to make it to the middle class or beyond no matter where you start out in life – it isn’t bestowed on us from Washington. It comes from a vibrant free economy where people can risk their own money to open a business. And when they succeed, they hire more people, who in turn invest or spend the money they make, helping others start a business and create jobs. Presidents in both parties – from John F. Kennedy to Ronald Reagan – have known that our free enterprise economy is the source of our middle class prosperity. But President Obama? He believes it’s the cause of our problems.”

“Mr. President, I still live in the same working class neighborhood I grew up in. My neighbors aren’t millionaires. They’re retirees who depend on Social Security and Medicare. They’re workers who have to get up early tomorrow morning and go to work to pay the bills. They’re immigrants, who came here because they were stuck in poverty in countries where the government dominated the economy. The tax increases and the deficit spending you propose will hurt middle class families. It will cost them their raises. It will cost them their benefits. It may even cost some of them their jobs. And it will hurt seniors because it does nothing to save Medicare and Social Security. So Mr. President, I don’t oppose your plans because I want to protect the rich. I oppose your plans because I want to protect my neighbors.”

“Economic growth is the best way to help the middle class. Unfortunately, our economy actually shrank during the last three months of 2012. But if we can get the economy to grow at just 4 percent a year, it would create millions of middle class jobs. And it could reduce our deficits by almost $4 trillion dollars over the next decade. Tax increases can’t do this. Raising taxes won’t create private sector jobs. And there’s no realistic tax increase that could lower our deficits by almost $4 trillion. That’s why I hope the President will abandon his obsession with raising taxes and instead work with us to achieve real growth in our economy.”

“The real cause of our debt is that our government has been spending 1 trillion dollars more than it takes in every year. That’s why we need a balanced budget amendment. The biggest obstacles to balancing the budget are programs where spending is already locked in. One of these programs, Medicare, is especially important to me. It provided my father the care he needed to battle cancer and ultimately die with dignity. And it pays for the care my mother receives now. I would never support any changes to Medicare that would hurt seniors like my mother. But anyone who is in favor of leaving Medicare exactly the way it is right now, is in favor of bankrupting it.”

“Despite our differences, I know that both Republicans and Democrats love America. I pray we can come together to solve our problems, because the choices before us could not be more important. If we can get our economy healthy again, our children will be the most prosperous Americans ever. And if we do not, we will forever be known as the generation responsible for America’s decline.”

When will it just be said like it is? “Obama is an alinsky radical. There is no question about it. He doesn’t even deny it. As such he has no interest whatsoever in hope, change, budgets, solvency, debt ratings, responsibility, transparency or any other of his lies. He’s written about it, given speeches about it, even taught is as a professor he claimed to be. THAT’S WHAT Alinisky IS”

Just waiting for anarchy in the streets nothing seems to work or change the way our founders intended. It feels like a good time to reset this country. All I hear is more taxes I make more and bring home less, my spending money buys a whole lot less and no Obama phone for me. The press is on the side of the commies the Dems are commies the Repubs are commie light, the courts do everything to keep the working class down and the executive believes he is a king.At 50 I see we are the first generation that will not be better off than the previous. Thanks to all of you low information voters and enablers.

Just watched Marco’s speech and it’s one of the most fantastic responses to the potus that I’ve heard. Other then have to take a swig of water (trust me; I understand that need sometimes; lol), it was flawless. Few folks can do such a speech without apparent notes or other aids though I suspect he may be using a teleprompter, I couldn’t tell unlike BO. lolol

First, there is no point in replying to the President. Instead, try to realize the truth … that there is no President. (Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate: http://i3.ytimg.com/bg/jKZugo0aaREqEyqXIzGDVw/102.jpg )

Second, a Constitutionally elected President cannot raise taxes. That is the exclusive authority of the Congress, which the President can only reject or sign-on to.

Third, it is lame-brains and fifth-columnists like yourself (Rubio) who are supporting the present dictator in the White House instead of impeaching him. I wonder why you’d do that?

Look folks…..until you realize your only purpose here is as a source of money, you won’t get it. The Dem/Progs are like the rabid junkies, take the money ……. take all the money. The Republican party is more methodical …….trying to sustain the income source long term. Either way, you are just a generator of revenue. This is the state of today’s gov. Now the Dem/Progs are thinking global, its not enough to bleed a country…..they need to bleed the world with there appetite. Dem vs Rep……slow death vs fast death. Time to break the mold folks………..

The smart thing to do is ignore evrything obama says and speak entirely about OBAMACARE, which is the sole reason we have a deficit.
We are cutting medicare and the military for OBAMACARE, which ALSO raised insurance about $5,000/ family every single year forever.
Act as if obama never appeared on TV. He didn’t say anything new.

Gun violence victims, as advocates, for gun-control will be precisely staged in the
gallery to ‘cheer on’ the Presidents plan of making gun-owners, Criminals.

Obama is an alinsky loser. They are almost done with him. He will be “martyred” by his own because he is worth more to them dead than alive. That’s how these things work. He was made by them and they view it as their right to destroy him of the ‘common’ good. They’ll make it look like some ‘right wing racist’ for maximum impact. He’s a walking dead puppet.

What the hell is the point of this exercise if everyone knows what everyone else will say?

I have NO interest in what anyone at the core of the rotten republican establishment has to say any more than what the commies on the other side of the aisle have to say. If they’re not talking about getting rid of our interest based currency and getting the F out of the way of the market, they’re worthless. Especially when they’ve voted for every police statist piece of legislation presented to them.

  @East.. Most of Rand’s speech has been released on FB. I don’t know how to take him. It seems he’s appeasing establishment types so he doesn’t get blackballed by the media for 2016. His voting record is still solid. I’d really like to see Justin Amash getting some media attention though.
