‘The Silence is Deafening, Mr. President’: Obama Has Yet to Acknowledge Death of Legendary SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle

It has been about 10 days since legendary Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle was tragically gunned down in Texas, and the president of the United States has yet to address his death.

President Barack Obama has not made a public statement regarding Kyle’s murder and his extraordinary service to his county, nor has the White House issued an official press release. Messages left by TheBlaze were not immediately returned by the White House.

Several Blaze readers have also suggested that the White House should have ordered flags be flown at half mast to honor Kyle. You may recall, Obama issued such orders to honor the late Sen. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, the victims of Sandy Hook, and in honor of Arlen Specter, Neil Armstrong and Army Cpl. Frank W. Buckles, as well as others.

While those proclamations were more than necessary, many would argue an American hero like Chris Kyle — the “American Sniper” — undoubtedly deserves the same respect.

However, the most glaring oversight is still the fact that President Obama hasn’t so much as offered a public statement paying his respects to Kyle and his family.

When singer Whitney Houston passed away from a drug overdose, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Obama’s “thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her daughter.” He also called her death a “tragedy.”

Meanwhile, Kyle leaves behind two young children and a devastated wife.

Kyle’s memorial service was held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Monday, at which Obama wasn’t in attendance. He received some criticism for his absence, however, it appears that the commander-in-chief was attending the Medal of Honor ceremony for former Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha that same day.

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said in a Facebook post that she hoped the president “pays his respects” to Kyle soon.

As Twitchy notes, Obama’s silence on Kyle has not gone unnoticed.

There may be a legitimate reason as to why Obama has waited so long to acknowledge Kyle’s death — we just don’t have one, or any reason for that matter.

Kyle will be buried at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin following a 200-mile funeral procession starting in the Dallas area Tuesday.

Meanwhile, patriots lined up on the Interstate 35 corridor near Temple, Texas to honor Kyle in a big way. This photo says it all:

Barack Hussein Obama (the name he picked to replace his birth name because it sounded more mid-eastern!) doesn’t have the necessary intelligence, good grace, common sense or any other good ole American values to honor one of America’s great warrior who was killed by ONE MORE MENTALLY ILL PERSON! Let’s ban the mentally ill instead of our guns—we’d be better off!

Mooshella, was at the funeral of the girl killed in the gang shoot-out in Chicago…oh, I guess Kyle’s death wasn’t as significant as hers. These people have polarized this great country with their bulls#*t, I’m not surprised at how far they go to pit us against one another.

  Do yourself a favor everybody. Push every dam liberal out of your life. Don’t be suckered into the words “family” either. The dam liberals in my family wanted access to me at parties, Christmas and anything else to assault and attack me with their liberal garbage. They all voted Barack Obama in again as President in 2012, so ObamaCare wasn’t repealed and Hostess Bakery went under. So did a bunch of other jobs. They also voted IN Gay Marriage by Referendum 74 in Seattle, Washington. My home town. Then they expected ME to put on a Big Christmas party with gifts, meats, cookie trays and I told them, “reap what you sow!” They aren’t allowed into my house and boy were they enraged! LIBERALS always think there are NO Consequences to THEIR SINS! Ha! I encourage all of you to NOT give them a sounding board. Expel the vermin! Give them no space “to be heard” as they incessantly blather on about “tolerance” and “diversity” and every disgusting lie! Hola!

I did myself the favor just as you have and it not only includes liberals but a few who didn’t vote at all or voted for all except the presidency. I want nothing to do with anyone that has or is contributing to the destruction of our beautiful God given country. BHO’s ignoring of Chris Kyle’s death is a simple illustration of how divided the “United” States is culturally. Chris Kyle and Barack Obama share no cultural interests at all.

Interestingly, Clinton Romesha, whose Medal of Honor ceremony BHO presided over the same day as Kyle’s memorial, is a member of The Church of the Latter Day Saints.

Go figure.

Obama hates the military. It’s just a means to an end for him. Now I’m remembering a discussion with a good friend of mine after the election. He was totally serious when he said this: Obama won because you could tell when you looked at him that he cared about people. Yeah….right.

I am torn about this. One one hand, I am angry that Obama has not acknowledged the passing of this American Warrior; on the other hand, I don’t think Obama’s is worthy of even uttering his name.

I have seen two soldiers receive the Medal of Honor from Obama. In each case, I have often wondered if it was me receiving such a solemn award, would I really want Obama to be the one who was placing it around my neck? I think not.

  I may be wrong…and I did read American Sniper several months ago; but I don’t think Chris Kyle was involved in the raid that resulted in Bin Laden being killed. I think you are confusing him with recent stories about “The Shooter”….the Seal Team Six member whom remains unidentified.
  
  However, I can still see Obama doing exactly what you just described as I would not doubt that Obama does not have a clue, nor cares about our Service Men & Women.

This guy didn’t die while at war. even those brave soldiers who died in the line of duty don’t get public appreciation from the president. what makes this guy so special. just another gun death. colateral damage. the price that is paid for this “free” society. keep your guns. don’t expect the president to cry over every gun death. **** happens.

  The black teenage girl killed in Chicago who performed at his “inauguration”was killed by gang members and she will be “used” for more gun control. Her mother will probably be in the balcony with Moochelle. A white American hero on the other hand who served his nation with a decorated military resume, who saw war and completed his duty doesn’t even get flags at half staff, yet Whitney Houston, an admitted drug user gets flags lowered?????????????????
  I don’t even want King Barry to mention Kyle, because it will come off dirty and cold, not to mention condescending with that evil cadence and smirk only Barry can pull off.

  How about the VA hospital and the DOD taking care of veterans when they return home from service. Whether it’s a physical injury, ptsd or just help acclimating their return to civilian life.
  It sounds like you’re blaming the firearm for Kyle’s death. Not the disturbed, young vet that came home screwed up. Who do you blame for the shootings in Newtown, Ct or Aurora, Co, what about Virginia Tech, Gabby Giffords or the Fort Hood shootings? Yep, guns are a common denominator but so are deranged people. If you took away their access to firearms do you not think any of these crazies wouldn’t have gone online and learned how to build a bomb? In each case you had an individual that was determined to kill people. In each case there were red flags going up all over the place and in each case those red flags were either ignored or the people that could have stepped up and said something, wouldn’t (Ft. Hood) or couldn’t do anything about it.
  As long as there are violent, crazy people that would mean to harm me or my family, I will be carrying my own protection.

I just finished reading American Sniper this weekend. What an amazing man Chris was. It would be a great tribute to him and his family if we could buy millions of copies of his book. His wife and children deserve it.

  All of the proceeds from the book are donated to help other soldiers. I hope his wife and children are provided for and we need to keep them in our hearts and prayers. I think Glenn and Mercury One will find out if they are in need of anything.

God Bless Chris Kyle. If i were Kyle’s family I would be disgusted if Obama called and offered his condolences. It would be an insult. My heart goes out to Kyle’s friends and family.

  You do realize that IF he mentions CPO Chris Kyle it will only be in the context of “Why we need more gun control”. Once again it’s a mental health issue that they’ll never address. The killer’s own family did not want him released from the hospital. They knew he was at least a danger to himself. Now there’s a good place to start a national conversation if their intent was to really save lives.
