CNN Panel Clashes After Contributor Suggests Alleged LAPD Cop Killer Can Teach Us a Lot About ‘Institutionalized Racism’
A CNN contributor on Wednesday said that the story of suspected cop killer Christopher Dorner can tell us a lot about corruption, “institutionalized racism,” and give us a framework to examine how “America operates in general.”

Dorner allegedly shot and murdered Keith Lawrence and his fiancée, Monica Quan, on Feb. 3. Four days later, he allegedly shot and killed Police Officer Michael Crain, a decorated U.S. Marine and a father of two children. (Facebook/Reuters).
“He says a lot about more than just guns,” said Politic365′s Jason Johnson. “He tells us a lot about how our urban police departments are working, he tells us a lot about corruption. He tells us a lot about institutionalized racism. His story is the kind of testimony that we need to take a look at how America operates in general.”
CNN’s Carol Costello jumped in to point out that being “evil and vile” — as Dorner has been accused of being — makes it awfully difficult for anyone to take his supposed “message” seriously.
The New York Times’ Ross Douthat chimed in to point out that “crazy people” are capable of making good points “in the course of coming to evil conclusions,” but also noted there’s a double-standard clearly on display in the Dorner case.
“Now you have a psychotic killer who has published a manifesto that expresses basically left-wing ideas and the takeaway is supposed to be that we should enact left-wing policy proposals?” he asked, noting that this was definitely not how people reacted after Jared Loughner shot and killed six people in Tucson, Arizona.
“It seems like there’s a slight double standard in how the media reacts to these kind of rampages, don’t you think?” he pressed.
The panel then turned to CNN contributor Van Jones who was not at all pleased with the discussion.
“There are many better spokespersons for the cause of racial justice than this murderer,” Jones said, adding that we’re going “down a very dangerous road.”
We should be talking about the victims, he said, and “the legitimate people who have been trying to make positive change in peaceful, lawful ways.”

Johnson jumped back in to defend his earlier point.
Dorner isn’t “the Rosa Parks of gun violence,” he said. But “his story is telling and the kind of thing we can learn from — it doesn’t have to be an either/or.”
Jones countered by saying that it’s fine to view Dorner’s case as one of a mental health issue, but “I don’t want to validate his political thinking while people are literally planning funerals.”
Douthat sided with Jones, leaving Johnson all alone in his argument.
“In these kind of moments,” Douthat said, “you know, you want to focus on the victims, you want to condemn the crime, and you want to save the political points the person may have been inspired by for a more appropriate time.”

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 2:16pmA reckoning is due for the Republic. Our president desires a victimized populace, particularly the black and Latino community. A division of America is all progressives can function with in their wish to destroy the greatest nation ever to be founded. I never knew I was a racist until one day it just dawned on me when I looked into the mirror and said, “My God, I am white.” Whatever transpires under the current administration tenure does not look joyful for the citizens/soon to be subjects. Be brave!

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 7:53pmIsn’t it interesting that cops in England make far less than those in the United State? I believe there is a lot of corruption that follows and no one is perfect, but when in Rome, it always comes down!
We really don’t know all the facts on things in life, so I will try not to judge! Let go and let God!

well i dont know exactly how it went down. It appeared he did not intentionally go after the families.
*****************************
You are one messed up fool. He murdered two people. Who never did zip to him. He called the father of the dead woman to harass him. His ex girl friend said she broke up because he was nuts. He got a restraining order on her (that’s a laugh in it’s self when you notice how big he is) Then he failed to show up in court. So it was dropped.
Now when the lib fools can’t blame some white guy for his actions, they claim racism’s as their last effort. Bad cops get fired all the time.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 7:39pmA perfect leftist argument.
“Guns are bad. They kill people. We need gun laws and background checks.”
So we have a cop, who was fired, and crazy. Obviously the system the left wants above is shown. Instead, the left comes out and claims that it is racially motivated.
So, whitey can’t own no gun cause he might be crazy…but a brother must be allowed guns or it is racist.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 6:45pmWackos who allege Dorner’s rampage was the result of racism, choose to ignore his first two victims were minorities. One was a brother, a campus security officer. The other was a young lady of Chinese decent. I know, I know, we should not “confuse them with facts.” They choose too be dazzled with BS!

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 6:00pmOkay, so a psychotic, left-wing supporter pens a manifesto accusing the LAPD of racism and other wrongdoings, and the media jumps to support his accusations as gospel? First of all, it appears Dorner’s life revolved around filing complaints against, not only authority, but he even got a restraining order against a female who he dated that posted negative statements about him on an internet site. His negatives rantings regarding LAPD are all in his twisted, liberal melon. If this guy was a white, right wing supporter, you media ass clowns would be digging into all associations trashing conservatives and pushing your communist gun control agenda. But, since this loser loves the liberals he is painted as a victim pushed over the edge by an evil society and racist police department.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:56pmIt’s Bush’s fault, it’s LAPD’s fault, it’s America’s white colonial past history fault. You can’t be a black psychotic killer and be it your fault. Someone didn’t get their fair share, their fair chance at becoming successful. It must be racism.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:51pmIn the 1950′s black were truly becoming mainstream (for lack of a better word). They, as a society, valued an education, spoke English as well as any other American, has similar rates of murder, rape, drug abuse, etc. Look it up. It was the Government, primarily the Left, who targeted these people as a permanant voting block and they made the concious decision to destroy their society in order to do so. Much as the Public School System was designed specifically to make the masses into docile, collectivist workers. The Government, *any* government given time, views themselves as Farmers and us as Cows. Government is pure evil from day one and only a Fool gives them the power to control *anything* beyond making war on other nations. If we restricted all governments to that function in short order we wouldn’t need them at all. And they know this.
Moo.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:41pmYou know, I thought that when America elected it’s first black president, that so much of this race-baiting drivel would just go away. But now that the president has been re-elected, I hear more of this crappola than I ever have before. Is this because charges of racism is a winning formula for the Left? Anyone who disagrees, call him a racist. Somebody doesn’t give you stuff? Call him racist. Anyone who has a different philosophy? Call him racist. Don’t let the facts get in the way, just holla “racism”!

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:35pmHow did this hate-filled psycho ever qualify to serve in the military or on a police force?
Without affirmative action and the racial quota hiring practices in America, Christopher Dorner would probably have not even been qualified enough to work as a kennel cleaner at the dog pound.

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:22pmAfter reading Christopher Dorner’s manifesto, I see that he bought into all the liberals’ lies.
Liberalism is a dangerous, deadly, cancerous plague upon the World.
For the past fifty years, so called Black leaders and the public school system has brainwashed American youths into believing that Blacks will always be the victims of hate and racism.
They’ve been taught, that Blacks deserve a free ride and restitution for the rest of their lives, for slavery.
They’ve been taught, that Blacks will never succeed or make it to the top.
They’ve been taught, that “The Man” will always keep the Black man down.
It’s time Black leaders and teachers started teaching the truth.
No one owes Blacks a free ride and restitution, for being brought to the land of opportunity.
The Black man’s attitude is the only thing holding the Black man down.
The Black man can make it to the top. We have a Black President to prove it.

But either way, he was of sound mind – just not the kind of mind that we agree with. Apparently his job was his life and being a trained killer – thats what he fell back on. It is easy to judge but i would hope we take a close look at this tragedy instead of accepting the dumbed-down media version

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 4:06pmThis IS institutionalized racism. Every city, county, state and the feds all have institutionalized racism through their affirmative action programs. Through the educational “standards” they’ve institutionalized racism through the Progressive Leftwing agenda taught in schools.
Teaching blacks that they don’t have anything because whitey stole it from them IS racism and leads to this kind of violence. Teaching ANYBODY that they’re never at fault but someone else is teaches them to always shift responsibility to others and to reach violently to everything.
This is PC politics at its best.
