CNN Panelist’s Shock Claim: LA Cop Killer’s Rampage ‘Almost Like Watching Django Unchained in Real Life; It’s Kind of Exciting’

Columbia Profressors Shock Claim on CNN: Dorners Rampage Almost Like Watching Django Unchained in Real Life; Its Kind of Exciting

Marc Lamont Hill (source: Philly.com)

Suspected cop killer Christopher Dorner is believed to have been killed in Tuesday’s dramatic standoff with police that ended in flames at a cabin in Big Bear, Calif. However, there are still a number of questions left to answer, including how a murderer earned a fan base.

During a panel discussion on CNN Wednesday, Marc Lamont Hill, host of HuffPost Live and associate professor at Columbia University, said he understands why people were rooting for Dorner. He also made some shocking remarks about his murderous rampage.

“This has been an important conversation that we’ve had about police brutality, about police corruption, about state violence,” Hill said.

“As far as Dorner himself goes, he’s been like a real life superhero to many people,” he added. “Don’t get me wrong, what he did was awful, killing innocent people was bad, but when you read his manifesto, when you read the message that he left, he wasn’t entirely crazy.”

Dorner’s supporters were rooting for him because they wanted to see him get vengeance against the system that wronged him, according to Hill.

It’s almost like watching ‘Django Unchained’ in real life,” Hill explained. “It’s kind of exciting.”

Here’s how “exciting” it was. Dorner killed two cops and two other innocent people during his shooting spree. Among the victims were Monica Quan, a 28-year-old assistant coach at Cal State Fullerton, 27-year-old USC safety officer Keith Lawrence, who was also Quan’s fiancé, Riverside police officer Michael Crain, 34, and a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy.

Dorner’s killing rampage probably wasn’t very “exciting” to the victims and their families.

Hill argued that Dorner exposed police brutality and corruption within the LAPD and several of the panelists agreed that his rampage should serve as a catalyst for the country to have that conversation.

Another panelist said “the narrative of Christopher Dorner” resembles a Denzel Washington movie, in which “he was “wronged and stands up for himself and goes out in a blaze of glory. It’s hard for it not to turn into a movie.”

“Exactly,” Hill agreed.

Watch the entire segment via CNN/Mediaite:

As Townhall’s Katie Pavlich points out, Hill actually co-authored a book with convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal in December 2011.

While I do not condone what Dorner is accused of, I think time for the “conversation” has long passed. The cops and their criminal politician buddies are just flat out of control. They so want to cling to the power and perks that they see ANY criticism of them as an act of war. They have gotten to the point of an almost Gestapo like presence. Not all, but most.

I think Hill was saying that if the guy survives and didn’t die, Obama will add him to the pardon pages. The pardon list is up to 5 pages now so he should be somewhere on it. Hill is also saying that all those nasty cops need to be given a billy club and remove their guns and all these problems will go away like the did in the U.K.

To me this is more proof that liberalism is a dangerous mental disorder.(Hill IS racist).
The racists commenting on this subject, like Hill, miss the fact that Dormer screwed himself, not the cops. He got in trouble by being dishonest……lying. When he got reprimanded he got angry and went mad. He was sure he was ‘entitled’ to his job……

Yeah, yeah SOY. Dorner was completely sane, and totally lucid. That is why he rationalized the demons in his head, listened to those voices, wrote his rambling manifesto, killed an Asian woman, a Black man, and two white men. I guess he safely aimed in that final shootout that avoided and civilian injuries. Wonder how much property damage will eventually be attributed after the final investigation is complete?

We don’t know what exactly happened to him while he was on the Police force. What we do know is he killed 5 people? Injured 3 more, took hostages, stole a vehicle and I think you can throw vandalism and jaywalking, plus I bet he probably was speeding at some time. So, whether there was just cause for his being fired becomes moot. His actions afterwards erased any substance of a fair investigation of his firing because no matter what comes out of the LAPD. One side will say “see we told you” and the other side will just say “Cover up, whitewash”.

The sad thing is his actions will not simply be looked at as a deranged criminal on a murder spree, but we will have people like Lamont Hill trying to glorify him as a wronged man trying to clear his name.
      RJJ/Soybomb

At no point will we hear from the MSM on the victims he killed, the young couple that will never marry, the young father that will never see his 3 month old daughter grow up, dance with her at her wedding, the wife that no longer has a husband. That will all be lost, and instead, we are concentrating on the slime that committed these acts.
I for one will not discuss him any further, he is now worm food and hopefully, the devil is playing ping pong with his dangly bits, and Hitler is copulating with him for eternity.

Keaton, Eastinfection is exactly right. Of course I feel bad but there’s a difference between empathy and guilt. Why should I feel guilt? I’m not responsible for slavery. I’ve never treated a minority different or poorly because of their race. I’ve befriended and I’ve dated outside my race without hesitation. So while I may feel sympathy for the slaves of the past (I’ll point out slavery is far from an America only phenomina), I’m not going to feel like I owe somebody anything because of the actions of a few long dead members of my race towards long dead members of their race.

The man murdered the daughter of a police captain that represented Dorner to “take his family”. He even called the victim’s father and taunted him.

Essentially what Hill and others on this thread are saying is terrorism is ok if he was somehow wronged. Or if it’s a sign of systemic corruption. Some of you and Hill say “he tried to handle it the right way” as though that makes the murder of 4 people ok. Then you turn around and say “that’s not what I’m saying”.

SOYBOMB…Dorner was stewing in his self- created pot of self pity. He was overlooked for promotion in the armed forces and dismissed and then was dismissed for unseemly conduct from the police force. Clearly he had issues that caught the attention of his superiors in both situations that made them cut him loose. He then let himself seethe in his self pity, convinced himself he was wronged and became violent. Without having the benefit of having him mentally evaluated now he seems to have allowed himself to believe his own excuses about his failures then he snapped. His mental state is clearly an issue. Id say there was a lot of depression and the longer it dragged out the more I was convinced he would commit “death by cop”. He had no intention of turning himself in. Of course a cop in prison is a daunting thing to contemplate but clearly his mental state was the overwhelming factor.

AVENGERK, LOL, I was just going to leave it alone. SOY would simply continue to argue with me as he usually does, then accuse me of using Saul Alinsky tactics when I try to reason with him. I’m sure he is sitting at home quietly accusing you of being too judgmental.

Remember the old nut who shot a school bus driver and kidnapped a kid because he had a story he wanted to tell? This Dorner psycho is no different. He claims he was wronged but what evidence do we have? Only the word of this entitlement mentality victimhood trained nut job. He is a product of the Jesse, Al, and Barack school of victimhood. It’s not exiting to watch a story of him killing innocent people unfold. Punk Lamont should be booted off Fox permanently. Why do we need the opinions of racist nut jobs like him?

It doesn’t surprise me coming from Hill since he is a cop killer lover. He was a public supporter of convicted cop-killer Assata Shakur too.

These people are freaking nuts. Exciting? Like a movie? What the hell. Can they not separate fiction from reality? Yeah…I bet the people that were murdered and their family memebers didn’t think it was to exciting. Root for the bad guy….typical. OMG!! He was wronged….he is black….so he has an excuse to kill people? Marc Lamont Hill is as racist as they come.

Regardless if there was corruption at the LAPD, murder is still wrong. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Murder is murder. I just don’t like the fact that people are cheering this kind of behavior. And we all wonder why America is going in the crapper. We don’t need violent video games and Hollywood to create nutjobs…..the main stream media does that for them. Guns are bad, they tell us, but yet they condone this? I just don’t get it.

nevermind the liberals on wacko media….They are meant to be a distraction from the real issue

the real issue is whether they tried to burn him to death and whether the LAPD is a corrupt organization. In the big cities, corruption is rampant

Agree. Wonder when the Van Jones crowd will reignite the Watts riots. Or maybe like Charles Manson – a racial revolution sparked by the “pigs” message sprawled on the walls of the murdered. Our 60s radicals have brought us back to one ugly period in American history.

He is a coward, plain and simple. Bill O Reilly has taken him apart many times, and any time he is on, he simply makes Bills point for him. For a Professor, he is a very stupid man and has a very hard time making a coherent point and cannot backup anything with facts.

DARMOK, Even though O’Reilly can really piss me off from time to time, he does at least usually make more sense than most. I’m with you on that, and I will be watching tonight to see if he brings this story up. If Hill has the brass enough to show up Bill’s show I’m sure he will be confronted with it.

DISMAYED: Agree about the mental illness : the “liberals” – our Big Brother / 16 oz. dudes – are all about hating the cops, hating the military , hating authority figures , hating traditional values – they love ” change !” at the same time they want to regulate everyone’s soda size, carbon footprint, menu, etc. Their thinking is divided, confused, and dysfunctional ! Like their buddies , the anarchists who support the Lefties . AND our Lefty Obama crowd is arming mysterious ” rebels” whose ranks are filled with people who want to destroy all Christians, Westerners, and Americans …Go figure ?!!
