Pro-Lifers Target Famed Abortionist After Teacher’s Horrific Death Following Late-Term Abortion

An elementary school teacher’s tragic death after having a late-term abortion last week has pro-life advocates infuriated and calling for officials to shutter the clinic that performed the procedure. Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, a 29-year-old from New Rochelle, N.Y., was purportedly 33 weeks pregnant when sought out the Germantown, Md., doctor’s office after allegedly learning that her unborn baby had developed abnormalities.

The complicated, multi-day procedure went very wrong, with Morbelli reportedly suffering a ruptured uterus and subsequently dying in a nearby hospital from severe internal bleeding. The Daily Mail notes that these details have not yet been confirmed by investigators and that the issues surrounding the case are not officially known. However, these are the elements that are being reported by anti-abortion advocates and the media, alike. Here’s the timeline of events, as reported by the Daily Mail:

On February 3, Mrs Morbelli, a substitute teacher from New Rochelle, and her husband arrived in Germantown  [Maryland] and checked into a hotel where they were to spend several days during the procedure.

Four days after having the abortion at Germantown Reproductive Health Services clinic, the young woman reportedly complained of chest pain and other discomfort.

At around 5am last Thursday, she was rushed to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, where she passed away a few hours later from massive bleeding into her abdominal cavity.

According to the Washington Post, it is legal in Maryland to perform late-term abortions when an unborn child develops abnormalities or when the health or life of the mother is at risk. New York State’s laws are not as liberal, which is purportedly what led the woman to seek out-of-state assistance.

Aside from a confirmation on the cause of Morbelli’s death, not much is known about the reasons for the late-term abortion, specifically the abnormalities that have been cited. The woman and her husband, TJ, were expecting a baby girl on March 20, whom they purportedly planned to name Madison Leigh.

Dr. LeRoy Cathart, 69, one of the only doctors overtly performing late-term abortions, is now being targeted by pro-life activists who believe that he botched Morbelli’s procedure. According to the Daily Mail, it was 2005 that Cathart first came into the cross-hairs after a previous patient died following an abortion.

Now, they are holding him personally responsible in the wake of this latest tragedy. On Monday, 150 pro-lifers demonstrated outside of the clinic and demanded that the clinic be shut down.

“We will not rest until this clinic is shut down and the license of LeRoy Carhart is revoked,” said the Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition. “God let it be so.”

The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy, but the results won’t be ready for up to one month. The Maryland Office of Health Care Quality is currently investigating the death.

TRAGIC! This couple had already named the baby. I wonder why the “abnormalities” were not seen earlier. What type of abnormality develops late? It must have been something serious to go from naming a baby to ending her life. I just can not agree with late term abortions. I really don’t even want to invasion it. This couple looking like a good happy young couple with a future. This was such a tragic decision. I wonder was the child going to be that inconvenient? Also, i wonder what parent wanted the late abortion more.

How did she know about the abnormalities? Was it an ultrasound or a blood test? Did the couple have genetic abnormaliites in their family.? Was the child Down’s syndrome? This is a tragedy that the couple put into motion.Whatever the problems were with the unborn baby girl, I am sure there would have been support from their families and friends.Who could possibly think that the direct killing of a child who was already named, no less, would ever be the solution. Scary that the younger generation seems to have a complete lack of morals. Condolences on the loss of mother and child.

Apparently Jennifer was a “catholic”. A true Catholic knows that their child needs to be baptized. Jennifer should have given birth to her daughter, held her, kissed her, baptized her. Then, she could have put her up for adoption- the loving choice- if she suffered from life-long disabilities that would have been a burden for Jennifer to endure. If the child had a terminal abnormality, there is a service such as perinatal hospice that would have kept baby Madison comfortable in her final days. My guess is that Madison did not have “downs syndrome” because that is detected within the first few months of pregnancy. My niece is due to have her DS baby around the same time Jennifer was due to have her daughter Madison.

This is a sad story for all involved, truly tragic. I would question the doctors judgement along with the Mothers…I mean 33 weeks…they had to know the risk involved. If they didn’t they are/were truly ignorant.

What a sick, evil and decaying society we live in when we can’t even value innocent human life. If you are for “safe and legal” abortion please go to http://www.priestsforlife.org and view the safe and legal pamphlet that shows the autopsy photos released by Marla Cardamone’s mother. Marla was an 18 year old woman that had an abortion at 33 weeks – she didn’t survive the “safe and legal” procedure and her son died a horrible painful death (yes a fetus does feel pain). It is amazing how much ignorance people that support abortion have. Go to http://www.ehd.org and you will see some amazing pictures and videos of unborn babies. By the time a woman realizes she is pregnant the babies heart is already beating and at seven weeks – when most abortions occur – the baby already has fingers and toes and a face. I pray to God that this sick and evil procedure will become illegal. Everyone should also read the history of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was a racist and supporter of eugenics.

Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA… Really – Wait… HAHAHAHA… Ok – so HER death is TRAGIC? We should overlook the fact that she died as she had her own baby murdered? LOL – not tragedy but flippin’ JUSTICE. I hope that every woman who CHOOSES to murder her baby sees that bloody little face and hears its tiny cries every damn time they try to sleep. That should be the cost of that CHOICE. Disagree? Think the unborn are DISPOSABLE? Sincerely – F U – and in both ears, too.

Pregnant for 8 months, a name picked out, more than likely clothes, furniture, diapers.
    The baby developed abnormalities?
When you think of it in this context, she killed an 8 month old baby because it wasn’t going to be ‘perfect’ in her eyes. She was a cold, cruel woman.

If there are children in your life, remember how it felt to wait to meet that child. The hope for the child, the joy of being able to watch that child grow and learn new things. The anticipation of teaching that child what you know, telling stories that you have, teaching them to laugh at the stupid things in life.

And to top it all off…she is an ELEMENTARY school teacher! So the little children from her class have to hear about this and have a horrible example of someone they loved doing something so horrible that caused death and pain. PARENTS here is your chance for a teaching moment for your children (if they are old enough of course). 6th grade?

My husband and I talked about this – he said something that made me think,, It was reported she was buried with her child hmmm I was pretty upset ( angry at the whole issue of abortion ) but, hubby said think about judgement day when all you have sinned against will be there to face you from this point until that appointed time she carries that judge in her own arms … There will be a true Judge & I humbled … What more can I say ?

      Pickles327,

I had to stop here after reading your comment, it is very thoughtful.
I immediately thought of King David and his sin with Bath-sheba and the consequences that sin brought upon David’s house. But the judgement for that sin is still pending, as David will someday have to face her husband, Uriah, who he had killed by sending him to the front lines without backup.

Obama and the Obama woman are chief aggressive supporters and advocates of partial-birth/late term abortions. Both lowlies have vigorously maintained their positions for the promotion of such a tragic and murderously heinous procedure. Add to that whenever the issue comes up, reprehensibly fanatical libs such as huffington post clap their hands with demented glee over babies being slaughtered, then dumped unceremoniously in hospital trash bins. Anyone supporting such a barbaric and brutal procedure is as twisted as the day is light.

Unfortunately, Jennifer’s sentence has just started. Not only did she lose here life, but she most likely damned her soul. She destroyed one of God’s innocent offspring. No where has it ever been recorded or spoken by a living prophet that one has the right to kill their offspring because of abnormalities. Physical handicaps are part of life. My daughter had a stroke at birth. She can barely use her hand twelve years later. You just can’t throw life away because it isn’t 100% healthy.

May God bless this family during this time of sorrow.

Yes it is very sad. Here is an amazing quote frmo C.S. Lewis:
… “If I had a choice, that is if Scripture were not so clear and conclusive, I would certainly not believe in Hell. Trust me when I say I do not want to believe in it. But if I make what I want–or what others want–the basis for my beliefs, then I am a follower of my culture, not a follower of Christ … In The Problem of Pain, C.S. Lewis writes of Hell, “There is no doctrine which I would more willingly remove from Christianity than this, if it lay in my power. But it has the full support of Scripture and, especially, of our Lord’s own words; it has always been held by Christendom; and it has the support of reason.”

Personally, I don’t think the teachers death was any more horrific than what she and the doctor had intended to do to the baby. So, I’m sorry she lost her life, but I do not feel sorry for her, only the baby who had no choice in the matter. You will reap what you sow…… pay up now, pay up later….. but you will pay up for your sinful deeds committed in this life… COUNT ON IT..

What is wrong with by passing the “Germantown Reproductive Health Services clinic” and going straight to a legitimate hospital to murder your substandard child? She was too far along for going to the chop shop abortionist. She should have had a real doctor.
Germantown Chop Shop Death Services is a better name for the place.
I wonder if they will bury the baby? Millions of babies are never laid to rest in a proper burial.

Another sad loss, to ignorance and immorality. Why getting our children out of public schools, getting rid of tenure and re-evaluate if we pay taxes for this industry…why more Christians, paying taxes, hire attorneys to represent (class action) in paying for this industry of murder…let alone the new push for contraception the ‘entitlement’ generation try to pass, in taxes, regulations and immorality.

Wishing this woman hellfire…Hello?? What kind of Christian does this? This is a very sad story that is clearly lacking in vital information to make any sort of judgment on the situation. So, if you’re so God following and believing..Perhaps more time should be spent praying you never face a trial like this rather than raising your noses in the air in arrogant condemnation of someone who Jesus just might love as much as YOU!

I won’t pass judgment on another human, that is God’s purview, but I can give a personal experience to help others understand some things about a pregnancy.

My wife gave birth to our last child at 29 weeks of pregnancy, due to toxemia, which if untreated would have killed her. Our son was in the hospital for 7 weeks before we brought him home. He never was in any real danger, since by that time (11 weeks before normal birth) he was almost fully developed. He only needed some help until his lungs were adequately developed and he put on a few more pounds of fat.

My granddaughter was stillborn at 24 weeks and she too was well developed.

How anyone can say that these babies are not persons in the face of the law is either ignorant (I hope this helps educate), or evil. Only God can decide that.
