Rand Paul Declares America Needs a ‘Spiritual Cleansing’ and ‘Revival’: ‘Something Really Depraved Is Rising in the Country’

Sen. Rand Paul will join Real News tonight on TheBlaze TV to discuss his response to the State of the Union.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning to discuss a variety of topics. After commenting about the need to combat President Barack Obama’s use of executive power, the politician dove into the spiritual realm. Noting that he believes America’s problems run deeper than political schisms, Paul called for a spiritual awakening and revival.

Rand Paul to Glenn Beck: America Needs a Spiritual Revival

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., testifies before a state legislative committee on the legalization of growing hemp at the Capitol Annex in Frankfort, Ky., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.Β Credit: APΒ

The senator made his comments about the need for faith leaders to rise up and called for increased religious fervor after Beck asked him about his own spiritualΒ well-being.

Paul said that when he was first running for office he appreciated people telling him that they were praying for him, but that he didn’t take these pledges seriously enough. Now, he sees inherent value in these prayers and well-wishes — and he believes the nation should adopt similar sentiments.

“I think that our country needs a spiritual cleansing,” Paul told Beck. “I really think we need a revival in this country — and I do need your prayers and I do need the strength to go on with this,Β becauseΒ this isn’t always easy.”

He went on to call for religious leaders to come forward and to help deal with the issues at hand and said that something is needed (i.e. God) that is “bigger than any politician.”

“I think ourΒ country’sΒ problems are deeper than political — that we needΒ spiritualΒ leaders to come forward. We need something beyond just the politics of the day and, you know, I see it everywhere — something really depraved is rising in the country,” he continued.

Listen to Paul’s comments, below:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Mr. Rand Paul Spot On totally agree ! Now the Question now is How ? I believe we need Pastors like John Hagee, Rod Parsley, and many others to start to pray and get on our knees and ask God to heal our land ! Gods Judgement I believe us very near ? or he’ll allow something to happen to wake us up.

We are living in the generation of the Fig Tree. Period. We were told about this and we are living it now. The one world order has happened because our economies are all connected. So now the one world currency is yet to be completed. We have a master deceiver over us who has been given a strong delusion of doing anything but righteous things. So if the whole world is being sold down the river with this human jerk what is the world going to do when Satan, the fake Christ who is supernatural comes to save the day in the 6th trump,6th seal, and the 6th vial? The fake Christ will cause lightening to come down from the heavens on his command. If you don’t know that the fake christ comes first then you will be punked into worshipping the devil. Plain and simple and we have been warned over and over in the word. But it is your ship and you must sail it down your river.

That’s all fine and dandy until you get into the area of which spiritual revival we’re talking about. A Christian one and to what extent? Slippery slope to theocracy I sense here.

I totally agree with Mr. Paul. Evil is everywhere. People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming everyone and everything.

God gave His creation gifts to use.

Why do people think that God is a micro manager?
Some think all there actions are Divinely inspired. Where’s free will if one can blame God for everything they do?

Spend your time praising, not nagging, God.

God has lifted His hand of protection from America for so many reasons. We need a spitirual revival in America – a great anointing of the Holy Spirit. America is Not mentioned in the book of Revelation so I think we could go either way – continue on the hell bound train or beg and plead for God’s forgiveness and blessings. which could return America to God’s great gift of Freedom to the world.

In his interview with Glenn Beck Rand Paul said the United States should align its foreign policy with that of the Soviet Union and China. He said the cold was is over. Glenn Beck agreed with him saying the current President would never do this.

For the past 5 plus years Glenn Beck has been warning everyone of the terrible consequences that would result from President Obama, being a communist himself, aligning US policies with those of the communists.

That warning is over. History was rewritten for you Keys today.

I’ve seen a little here, but not enought to clearly distinguish, is the reaction of the Purist Paulist’s, Daddy Ron’s Disciples, to Little Randy’s religious vibe.
My experience with Paul Potters indicates they break into several categories.

1Libertarians. Strict Constructionist, Constitutional Conservationist Radical Jeffersonian Extremely Limited Government types. In the main, most of em distrust Religious Conservatives, but some of them ARE, like Beck, β€œReligious” Conservatives. A Theistic Anarchist like me can reach rapprochement with these.
    2. Radical SOCIAL Libertarians of the School I call β€œKitty Porn and Pot” β€œPseudoLiberTINEAryans” (decode that all the way out). They Hate Christians and other β€œReligious” Conservatives on sight, both for the Christians Moral Code, and for their Traditional Support of Israel, or as the PseudLibtares would have it β€œThe JEWS!” (dum da DUM! Ominous music track)
    3. Both the above seem to overlap, but not be coterminous with, a group I call the β€œBuckyBallers”( Pat Buchanan) β€œFLAT(ulent) Pat Earthers”. These are MILITANT Isolationists. They embrace Daddy Paul for his Constitutional resistance to β€œforeign interventionism” and β€œnation building” but there is an overlap with the Christian P&Pers over the dreaded (cue music—dum da DUM!!!) β€œNeoCons”.

How these flavors interact and where Daddy and Son fall, is not clear to me. Group 1 I can deal with. Other two seem to hate my guts, thoug

Religious revival will not fix the problem, because religious people can’t even agree among themselves. Why do you suppose there are hundreds of denominations within the Christian religion, and probably all the others, too? And what of the non-religious? Ignore them? Run them out of the country? Force them to convert to this or that faith?

As Pat Buchanan put it, we can’t get the country together because we can’t even come to an agreement on the fundamentals of what constitutes right and wrong, good and evil. We really are a house divided against itself.

I didn’t intend to imply I had a solution. I really don’t know what it is. I just don’t believe religious revival is going to do it, as I know too many zealots who are not willing to accept those with differing viewpoints and we’ll soon be right back where we are now. Events follow in succession. Nostalgia for times past tends to get romanticized.

I have not read what you mentioned, but given that I like Walter E. Williams, I will look it up.

Separation of religion (not virtue) and government needs to happen?

β€œPrecisely as a Christian, I call for my fellow Christians to try an experiment. For lack of a better term, let’s normalize, even secularize, our approach to the next election. Ask all candidates to drop the God talk. Recognize and reject all forms of religious pandering. Punish candidates who make base appeals to religious tribalism (or dogma). Evaluate candidates according to their past performance and current policy proposals related to the major challenges facing our nation. Read the Declaration of Independence and Constitution for a refresher. Pastors, stay home and preach the Gospel rather than being precinct captains. If you want to engage in relevant political reflection, wrestle in your sermons with how (our God given) constitutional democracy and broad Christian moral principles relate to each other.
Christian politics is corrupting both Christians and politics. Our nation is in too much trouble to endure another round of this sorry spectacle.
    Let’s do better.”

I truly believe that Rand Paul is right about having a spiritual cleansing. And I believe he would make a truthful, straight up President or VP. BUT, if there is extensive talk of God and his spiritual convictions, he will be made out to be a kook by the progressive left and the atheists groups. Look what the atheists did to remove a school logo that had the cross in it (for 10 years I might add) in Wisconsin. THEY PAID 2 boys to complain until they got it done. GOD HELP US.

This country has a spiritual problem. God’s word has been left out of every aspect of life, in the general population. When this happens, evil is happy to handle things. Ignorance of God’s word breeds evil. There is no disputing this.

But, history shows people only change when their back is to the wall. Fire purifies, so expect that as the solution and not some overnight mind and heart change.
Our, so called spirtual leaders have been absent in this country. To many are worried about public opinion, church attendance, and offending tithing members to speak truth.
They don’t like the scripture that says, “If you want to serve me then you will suffer”.
They want to be served by God and not the other way around, and will avoid any persecution or suffering on behalf of their Lord an Savior Jesus Christ.
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
Faith is acting on the truth of God’s word even when it doesn’t necessarily make sense or when you see no personal benefit.
That, simply, is not happening except in small pockets.

Have you ever noticed the gatekeepers in the media, those who work on commissions, are the ones who champion those who do not want the minimum wage raised? Do you really have a fight in this? When employers are going to be forced to create less than 30 hour wage weeks for part timers, do you think these jobs are going to be classified as “minimum wage, non-essential, entry level jobs”?

Do you think it is ethical of Congress not to impeach President Obama for ethics violations for doing nothing while the Ft. Hood shooter was classified as “work place violence” and not terrorism? Where in the State of the Union, did you hear where the President told us the House has repealed Obama Care, but the Senate has refused to forward the bill, the will of the People needs to be done?

These are called ethical problems, not political opportunities?
