Unless you were watching TheBlaze TV, it’s unlikely you caught Sen. Rand Paul’s response to the president’s State of the Union address. Airing past 11p.m. after the president and Marco Rubio’s remarks, Paul gave a cutting criticism of the State of our Union under the Obama administration, noting the 12 million Americans out of work, the 1 out of every 6 Americans who are poor, and the over $6 trillion in new debt since Obama took office.
On Immigration, Paul said the GOP must be the party who sees immigrants as assets, not liabilities, and called the president out on complaining abou the sequester which he originally endorsed. Paul indicated that both parties need to seriously consider across the board cuts, including to the military.
Paul followed up his response on the Glenn Beck Radio show Wednesday morning, commenting about the need to combat President Obama’s use of executive power, calling on religious leaders to join in the fight against the type of politics of our day.
The Kentucky Senator joined ‘Real News’ Wednesday to discuss his reaction to the president’s policy proposals for term two revealed in Tuesday’s speech, and the media reaction to his speech compared to Marco Rubio’s. Is the mainstream media trying to pit the Republicans against one another?
He also blasted Obama’s speech, saying the president appears to be used to running on this “Santa Claus platform” where new government programs will somehow not cost any money.
Watch a clip from Wednesday’s show below:

Feb. 14, 2013 at 11:58amThe REAL SOTU
2/13/2013
I have about 4 hours of air flight time to offer a rebuttal to the POTUS SOTU presented last night to the people of the USA. I didn’t watch it for two reasons; the 1st is that I watched as all of the president’s advance guard were on the media early in the day providing advance conditioning of the crowd for his same old rhetoric and rewritten campaign speeches, and the 2nd, I was still working a 14 hour day earning my salary for the honor to be called “fat cat millionaire” (my income is far below that inference but sufficient to fall into his class warfare definition) and funding the government’s confiscation program called Income Tax so a few more fat ass welfare recipients who haven’t ever worked an honest day’s work can still buy cigarettes and booze with 35% of my wages.
WARNING!! If you are among the closed minded Liberal sycophants and Obama Marxist devotees who would follow him over a cliff (literally and figuratively) or those anti-capitalism “America is the root of the world’s evils” current day SDS (look up the radical ‘60s communist movement) anarchists then this narrative is not for you and I suggest deleting it now.
The the remaining 83% of Americans who honestly believe the USA is a great place and regardless of political affiliation can read and consider rationally the arguments presented here, I thank you and suggest you read on.
My perspective is important to properly frame my arguments so I offer t

Feb. 14, 2013 at 11:40amI KNOW! The radicals will do and say ANYTHING to promote losers THEY KNOW WILL LOSE – and SPLIT THE CONSERVATIVE VOTE! A pretty transparent strategy, if you ask me. But you’re right, it DID work in 2008 and 2012. These radicals ELECTED AND REELECTED their King Soetoro, by CHEAT-nominating HATED McCain and HATED Romney… GUARANTEED LOSS! While they had Ron Paul BOTH TIMES… who EVERYONE would have voted for! Boomers, Establishment, Constitutionalists, third partiers, libertarians, conservatives, tea partiers, etc, etc… EVEN DEFECTING OBAMA VOTERS!!!!!!!!
Yup. 2012 CHANGED EVERYTHING. The ABSOLUTE HATRED of the LEFTIST republican party is at a ZENITH! And the Establishment republican radicals WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN, FOR THROWING THE FIGHT AND REELECTING KING SOETORO.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 8:35amI would assume that Paul’s views would reflect his fathers. He was raised with Libertarian beliefs. I do not hold that against him. Reading the comments, I don’t think people remember the immigration history of the US. While the statue has engraved at its base “Bring me your tired, your Poor” that was not the case. We only accepted skilled, educated, healthy people. Today’s immigration is more forgiving but still requires the same. Today’s we train immigrants who in many cases transfer the technology they learn here back to their native country. I believe we are being hollowed out as a nation by this transfer. Then we have illegal immigrants who come here to make money as manual labors for their families at home (foreign country). While they may reduce the cost of farming, house construction, and yard upkeep, they have a significant cost to society. I also support reducing the military, I believe that China and Russia have more to lose in a middle east blow up than we do.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 8:44amThis is where Beck has it wrong. His position is that we use the tactics of Jesus, Ghandi, etc.. We can’t afford to. We don’t have time. If we don’t make strong inroads in both the house and senate in 2014, we’re all but done. If the left holds all 3 branches of government this country will be finished.
The left could afford to be patient and plan for 100 years, we can’t. They knew Conservatives wouldn’t round them up and imprison/kill them. The left will do that to us. They are already passing the legislation.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 7:02amI heard Rand Paul’s speech and it wasn’t on theblaze.
Paul is just another politician. When talking about Washington positively he says We, ie we can make things better, but when making a negative point he says they, ie if congress doesn’t change then vote them all out. He should have said vote us all out.
The biggest problem with Paul’s speech though, and Marco Rubio’s too, is that he criticized the President for things the President didn’t say.
Last summer Mitt Romney was saying the threat from Russia is America’s biggest problem. Yesterday Paul was saying the US should align it’s foreign policy with Russia and China; that the cold war was over.
The Republicans are holding a wet finger up to see which way the wind is blowing.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 1:34amYeah, yeah, make a few ultra-vague generalities about ‘morality’, ‘values’ and ‘self-reliance’ and then drag out, if necessary, the old, time-worn issue of abortion (this is to convince folks that you’re a real ‘conservative’, quite unlike those on the other side) and then start ‘licking grease’ like there’s no tomorrow. Listen, Rand, if Obongo succeeds in legalizing 20 million illegal hisps, your chances are already gone. No way they’re gonna vote for you – or for any other Republican, for that matter. And no, you can’t switch back and beg for the votes of the White populace that you’ve already stabbed in the back.
Humph, no wonder they call ‘em “The Stupid Party”.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 1:00amAs far as I’m concerned, Rand Paul just jettisoned his chances to represent the conservative movement last night. First, Obongo champions the ‘rights’ of illegal aliens over American citizens, then Rubio comes along and agrees with him 100%. And then…I’ll be darned if Rand Paul didn’t come along and endorse the exact same position. That’s it. There officially is NO opposition now, meaning there’s certainly room for some 3rd party effort to step in here to represent White America.
Personally, I couldn’t care less about how these jokers decide to pay the bills. With a country overflowing with mexicans, it really won’t matter. Rubio and Obama are sticking it to ‘Whitey’ or ‘Gringo’, but one certainly might have expressed a lot more out of Rand Paul. Perhaps they should change the national anthem to ‘Grease is the Word’.

Feb. 13, 2013 at 10:41pmA former supporter of Rand Paul, I learned he is no different than other career politicians. The ink was not dry on Romney’s concession speech when Rand Paul threw his hat in the 2016 ring, pandering to the illegals by announcing his newly found pro-amnesty position and to the younger audience by pledging to legalize marijuana. We desperately need someone who honors their oath of office, the Constitution, and someone who upholds and enforces the law vs those who are pandering to the millions of illegal aliens who have violated our laws.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 8:08amHey Sacred… Aye, Rand didn’t believe life began at conception. Her views on abortion were limited to the first trimester, conceding there was a ‘reasonable’ argument against abortion after that. Remember her reasoning was based on the science of the 70′s and early 80′s. Her views may well have been different with the 30+ years of science and understanding of human development since. Even Ron Paul, who is pro-life, has said he wasn’t opposed to the morning after pill. That part of the debate will not be agreed upon in our life time.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 12:25pmBig government is not only wrong, it’s simply ludicrous. To think that a central government can improve life for its citizens is ignorance.
Inalienable rights come from God, how you decide to spend your days while here on earth will determine your future, starting today.
If you want to be reminded of what’s wrong with America today, all you have to do is revisit the Declaration of Independence and read the charges against the king. Many of them apply towards the bureaucratic despotism, or central government that we have today.
With Freedom and Liberties a Republic can benefit all citizens, without them we fall into communism. Unfortunately, some in the younger generations believe communism is the answer to their sorrows, and will provide them with opportunities.
Looking at what the central government has done to education since 1978 and what this bureaucratic despotism has created, and allowed is enough proof that communism does not work.
