Glenn Beck Fact Checks Obamas State of the Union Address

Though Glenn Beck didn’t have the patience to watch President Barack Obama deliver his State of the Union address Tuesday night, he did get caught up enough on Wednesday to conduct a blistering fact check of the speech.

He went almost point-by-point and rebutted many of the proposals and statements put forth by the commander in chief. Beck was shocked to hear Obama say his administration had “cleared away the rubble of crisis” and the “state of our union is stronger.”

“Stronger than what, Venezuela?” Beck remarked. “We are not stronger. We are not strong. We have had four straight annual deficits of over $1 trillion, a ballooning national debt that’s over now 100 percent of our annual output.”

Beck also called Obama out for trying to pass off massive government spending “investments” while arguing that not one of his new programs “should increase the deficit by a single dime.”

“He wants to sound responsible, but he also wants to spend like a Marxist at a Mao sale,” Beck quipped.

Obama also proclaimed he was not calling for “bigger government” but rather “smarter government” in his State of the Union speech. Beck took exception with the term.

“Maybe the progressives have redefined the word ‘smart’,” Beck said. “What is smarter about taxing and spending more? What is smarter about adding tens of billions to our trillion dollar deficit? What is smarter about asking Americans to fork over even more of their money? What is smarter about heaping even more burdens on America’s struggling businesses?”

“You cannot spend your way to prosperity, just like you cannot fornicate your way to virginity,” he added. “It doesn’t work that way.”

Washington continues to kick the can down the road to the next guy, but the problem is, Beck explained, we’re running out of road.

  @Gonzo, During my Jane Goodale inspired attempt to study the chimps in their natural environment (liberals @the HuffPo) I have come to the conclusion that it’s because they are overly emotional, impetuous and void of all logic. I mean these whiny little bastards demonize the very people that are literally feeding them. This morning I read a comment from a little Bolshevik who ‘reasoned’ we don’t need to know about Obama’s drone policy because he’s a constitutional lawyer therefor he should be trusted.

My God. Almost a quarter of youth are unemployed – and presumably that will get worse.

That is an unbelievably dangerous trend.

Future crime up, future productivity down.

The New Zealand government just received a report from some well-remunerated navel-gazer recommending that we increase the minimum wage here. It was with considerable relief that I read the majority of comments against that ridiculous proposal.

I post once that I do not blame BHO. He is an opportunist. He became a politician because he could not make living to sale his trade. I blame American people who voted this ….into the office twice. What a shame. A fraud in the White house and more 50% percent of population happy has him as their leader. People deserve its government!

“Redesigning” schools simply means increasing revenue to and giving more power to teacher’s unions. That’s the only real reform Obama has ever been interested in when it comes to education.

  The genesis of that quote as seen on the wall of a military washroom over 40 years ago (during Vietnam) was “Fighting for Peace is like fornicating for virginity” except the word wasn’t fornicating. I also remember from that same wall, “War is a matter of old men’s pride and young men’s lives”. It seems that bathroom philosophers were actually a bit more philosophical back then.
