Bill O’Reilly Goes Off on Columbia Prof. Who Said Dorner’s Rampage Was ‘Kind of Exciting’
Columbia University professor and HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill on Wednesday attempted to explain why some people consider alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner a “super hero.” He said watching Dorner’s rampage, after he was “wronged” by the system, was “kind of exciting” and like watching “Django Unchained in real life.”
Hill received intense criticism for his comments and on Thursday, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly invited him on his program and lectured the professor on his “insensitive” remarks.
After apologizing to the families of Dorner’s victims for any pain caused by his comments, he stood by his underlying message about why people support Dorner. Hill said the allegations of corruption within the LAPD could be a real story.
O’Reilly said Hill’s comments were extremely insensitive so close to the crimes committed by Dorner. He also criticized his guest for condemning Dorner but not condemning the people who are idolizing him. A few times throughout the segment, things got heated between the Fox host and his guest.
“You give credibility to a killer, a guy who is obviously not thinking clearly,” O’Reilly added. “He killed four human beings, innocent human beings. You don’t give any credibility to him. Anything he says, and everything he says is suspect because of what he did.”
Hill said he is not “legitimizing” murder, but the Dorner tragedy shines a spotlight on allegations of police corruption within the LAPD and it’s a conversation we should be having.
“Don’t get yourself into more trouble here,” O’Reilly said. “You were insensitive to the victims’ families. That’s what you were.”

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 2:03amI’m not a fan of his either, good point. He hates blogs because that dilutes his ego and message? Go figure? Asking for gun registration is like asking criminals to register for “permission” to do whatever it is they want to do? As if the act of registration means anything, it doesn’t. It does however give your domestic enemies of the US Constition a tool to remove firearms from law abiding citizens?
So yes, I believe if you think registration of firearm is necessary, you are domestic enemy of the US Constition, I would rather burn my paycheck from Fox News then be the “corporate water boy”?

But the worst thing he’s done is bring this Hill on from time to time. He’s, without doubt, a white hating, America-Hating racist.
But I WILL give O’Reilly credit for exposing the community organizer’s hate campaign against Euro-Americans going on noiw inside this administration.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 11:32amI hear what you are saying, I do, But, O’Reilly has always said, he is a moderate, not a conservative. He is a right leaning moderate for sure. The truth is though, he is absolutely wrong about registration, without a doubt, but no one is perfect out there. No one. I believe in the end, he is generally on the right side of history on most things though. He happens to be wrong about that one thing for sure though. Alex jones has been wrong about things. So has Glenn Beck. No one is perfect. If we spend all our time looking for the “perfect allie”, we will find ourselves with no one.

Say what you will about being “fair”; you know as well as I that Professor Hill has a right to his opinion under the First Amendment, and how dare the angry old white man try to deride him for his opinion (by sharing HIS opinion).
B.O. is playing with fire on this one; however, he’s lucky this time around. The only reason the revs Al and Jesse won’t take this to the lamestream media is because the topic is too hot right now. Hill is an idiot; anyone who wastes time listening to his psychobabble rap knows that. All he wants is time in the spotlight – and he’ll say anything to get it.

In the Waco incident as in this one, there were easy ways to end the conflict and get the individual alive BUT, it seems the “authorities” were as bent on killing him as he was bent on killing them. Just wondering what makes that compulsion acceptable on either side.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 12:44amif Dorner were a white guy, this whole entire conversation would not exist. But he’s black and he’s a liberal therefore making him a darling of left wingers, and his crimes do not matter to them because he will forever be seen as a victim. But the most ridiculous thing about it is that the reason he got fired had nothing to do with race, he was just mentally unfit for the job (obviously) and that the LAPD was discribed by the mayor of LA as one of the most diverse bureau’s in the nation, where a minority of officers are white. No big surprise for LA. Hill is just racist and hates white people. If i white guy had committed this crime, and wrote the same left wing manifesto, the left would all be crapping their pants not knowing what to do. But they would still blame the right for gun laws and mental health laws.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 4:01pmHey, let’s not shoot the messenger. Dorner was very wrong to take anyone’s life. There is no good excuse for what he has done. At first, it appears he tried to correct genuine infractions made by his “supposed” brothers in blue. His efforts were rebuffed, perhaps by systemic racism in his unit or in the entire local force. He did not give up, and the additional hits to justice affected him personally and deeply. At this point, most of us would have either left the force, or found some other way to expose the wrongs and lack of justice. Instead, he made a pain in the azzs of himself and alienated pretty much everyone. His improper dismissal was the seeming last straw that sent him into a spiral of insanity (or at least brought what was already there to the surface. I do feel that he was mistreated, but I think there are other issues that played into his insanity. I think he was taught to be a victim from childhood. I think the good professor here was similarly raised (but is not insane). I do not begrudge him his opinion, except that his point of view seems to justify what Dorner did. I also think Dorners brother’s in blue have no justification for their racist actions and do not belong on a police force in America. Teaching a child to hate is a disservice to the child and to our country, and in this instance it would appear this had occurred on both sides. When will it stop? Why does our President involve himself in such divisive things? Is this human na

Another dumbing down of a advanced degree to make blacks look intelligent. Posted on February 14, 2013 at 11:27pmWe can legitimize this killers claims if his actions to do so were legitimate. If Hill said that, he’d be okay. What a dummy.

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 11:26pmMarc Lamont Hill makes my raise my blood pressure!!!!!! This clown was brought in by O’Reilly 6 or 7 years ago to comment on some Hip-Hop BS and then became a regular commentator on politics….HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?….His PHD is in black studies and Hip-Hop culture or some sort of academic BS if memory serves me correctly.
He is the reason that I stopped watching O’Reilly….. He was dumped after some sort of situation a few years ago of which I don’t remember. Now, he’s back!!!!! AAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!

There is no balance to giving legitimacy to a murderer, such as Dorner. The guy is already becoming a folk hero to liberals and blacks alike. Enough is enough. He was evil, he killed 4 innocent people, and now he is dead. Good riddance. Marc Lamont Hill is disgusting and O’reilly should be ashamed of himself for saying that Hill is a “standup guy”. A “standup guy” would NEVER support a murderer.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 8:39ammyrwo6……Balanced opinion?…..If the race and political dynamics were reversed, It would be an entirely different segment and conversation. Hill would be blathering about the need for more gun control and certainly not painting the shooter out to be a hero. Guys like Hill are paid by Fox to “stir the pot”. I, for one, can’t watch these programs with the constant bickering and over-the-top analysis and pontification that goes on between the likes of Karl Rove, Mark Lamont Hill, Juan Williams, and the rest of the gaggle of “contributors” on O’Reilly’s show (and also Hannity’s show). It is like being in the middle of a family arguement.

Bill is just trying to deflect attention from his failed attempt to deny the NBC/drone story.
It is so.

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 11:36pmWhy does he refer to it as “the Dorner tragedy”?
Do we refer to the Manson ‘murders’ as the Manson ‘tragedy’?
I am shocked and amazed.
We use battle terminology during campaigns (crosshairs) and are blamed for a congresswoman being shot; what actions will the glorifying of a murfer cause?
Another example of calling evil good…

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 6:27amI’m tired of hearing dumb Black people. He should take that PHD and put it where the sun does not shine. Question did he get his PHD the way everybody does or given special breaks because he is Black. If anyone thinks this is RACIST tell someone who cares.

Could be? That is the liberals justification – could, might, he did it first, it’s Bush’s fault, emotion, etc., but never facts.

Personally, I look forward to the day when YOU REAP WHAT YOU HAVE SOWN and have to deal with YOUR SUPERMAN/JANGO HEROES. The rest of us are going to be sitting back and letting YOU sort YOURSELVES out. 6wks. without food stamps/rental assistance/free obama phone/utilities vouchers/bus tokens/ etc. 6wks! It took New Orleans 4 days to descend into anarchy. GOOD LUCK DUDE!

Mr Hill the Murderer FELT he was wronged by the system. It is rather presumptuous of you to elevate that Feeling to a fact. But then facts to the Left like you, are like Kryptonite to Superman.
