MSNBC Anchor Goes on Odd Ted Nugent Rant: ‘Obsession With Fecal Matter’ — ‘Fetish’ or ‘Personal Problem?’

It’s no secret that rock musician Ted Nugent has disdain for President Barack Obama’s policies. The outspoken conservative recently attended the State of the Union Address, later dismissing the president’s gun control proposals as “more nonsense” that will do little to save American lives. Following the speech, NBC’s Luke Russert interviewed Nugent and, on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir analyzed the exchange, accusing the rocker of having an “obsession with fecal matter.”

Bashir brought Russert, Democratic strategist Julian Epstein and Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart on his show to discuss Nugent’s presence at the State of the Union and to dissect the somewhat contentious interview that Russert conducted with the musician.

At the start of the segment, Bashir showed portions of the dialogue. In the short clips, Nugent commented about his recent claim that Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.) has “s**t for brains” and the rock star also joked that he had “s**t” his pants in an effort to get out of his interview with Russert.

After the reporter explained his back-and-forth with Nugent, Bashir turned his questioning to Capehart.

“Jonathan, Mr. Nugent appears to have some kind of obsession with fecal matter. Is this, do you think, a personal fetish or a personal problem?”

Capehart responded with, “Oh Lord, Martin,” then he proceeded to say that he thought Nugent’s presence in the chamber at the State of the Union was problematic and that it was representative of the poor state of public debate in America.

“I think it was reprehensible for him to be in the chamber,” Capehart said. “His presence there only — it sort of highlights just how coarse our political discourse has become.”

So let’s review. Ted Nugent’s presence at the State of the Union speech was problematic. Dr. Ben Carson giving a common sense speech at The National Prayer Breakfast was inappropriate, and Marco Rubio delivering the SOTU response in both English and Spanish was unacceptable. Oh, and taking a drink of water during the speech was also a “career ender,” according to CNN. Don’t forget my friends, that it is us who are intolerant and racist. We need to stop the insanity!

It was Ted Nugent who originally said he dodged the draft by showing up at the draft board caked in his own waste.

He did once receive a student deferment but his subsequent classifications back up his interview claim, according to Snopes.

The draft is unconstitutional and a sign of a police state. There is nothing wrong if you dodge the draft, as long as you do it for the right reasons. I applaud any libertarian who refuses to comply with orders to turn himself in, lose control of his life, and then ordered to kill other people who have done him no wrong.

Does your “Snopes” offer any approved propaganda for you to regurgitate here on Bill Clinton’s service?

By the way..here’s the official government record, not Nugent’s baiting a High Times Magazine stoner..I mean reporter in 1971..which is where the “pooped my pants” assertion you’re running with comes from.

“Theodore Anthony Nugent first received a high school 1-S deferment in February 1967, when he was 18. After briefly being reclassified as available for service, Nugent got a 2-S college deferment when he enrolled in Oakland Community College in Michigan.

In August 1969, Nugent took his draft physical and was rejected for service. He was classified as 1-Y, indicating that he was qualified for service only in time of a national emergency. ”

Oh really HAIRYMETH? Are you trying to be clever tulip?

      You mean this part sweetie?

Five weeks after the exam, Nugent received his 1-Y deferment on October 7, 1969. Nugent’s 1-Y deferment remained in effect until 1972, when the classification was abolished. He was then reclassified as 4-F, which covered registrants not qualified for military service.

So you’re saying that 3 years after Nugent’s medical exam when the government abolllished the 1-Y classification and they re-classified Nugent to a 4F it was Nugent’s doing? Can you tell me how Nugent abollished the 1-Y classification and gave himself the 4F replacement?

I’ll be waiting cupcake. You have a lot to say on this topic so I’m sure you’ll be able to enlighten me as to how Nugent managed to influence government to abollish the 1-Y classification.

      @Encicom

You are a brave man, Encicom…..by the way, do you EVER come out of your Momma’s basement? Nugent is no coward, and I am not even about to re-itereate his history with respect to the Viet Nam era draft. However, I will say this, at least he didn’t bolt for Canada….now those were a bunch of cowards. As for those who did serve in the Viet Nam theater, only about 10% of those who went were actually out in the field. Those in the rear did risk rocket & morter attacks, but that was not nearly as dangerous out in the field. Of those out in the field, 99.99% of them were scared “fecal-less”; the remaining 0.01% were just plain nuts. What makes the whole Viet Nam experience for those veterens so disasterous was the idiots in Washington who tied one hand behind our Military’s backs, putting those troops in even more danger. When it comes right down to it, those soldiers didn’t fight for the United States, they fought for their own lives, and those of the soldier to the left and right of them.

You need to read more history, young man.

As for Nugent, he is a brave man because he does not hesitate to state his opinions out in the open, in direct opposition of the Ruling Left. I think most African American Males are cowards as they will not think for themselves and realize that the King Has No Clothes….then again, maybe they do realize it but wont say it…which makes them even more of a coward.

Actually I am pretty sure Encinom is a She, or maybe a He-She, but without a doubt, Bashir has diarrhea of the mouth and S*** for brains.

Why was that Martin???? Too liberal for Muslim in Chief???

Hi MONK, LOL. Old Marty here was even more obsessed with Rubio’s rehydration habits too. In fact, he and Rachel Madcow had larger displays of being bat sh/t crazier than CNN’s accounting of the current “Water Gate.”

Glenn Beck all throughout his show yesterday was talking about Marco Rubio, at one point even giving him advice (as if Marco Rubio was listening). All together it must have been 20 minutes of air time.

Mr. Beck wasting his Keys time yet again.

@Monk, Nah, Bobo the wonder Marxist doesn’t need to do Marty any favors. Marty will happily bend over for Bobo anytime. He’s as loyal a gimp slave as they come. The spot that Marty would have filled can easily be filled with someone more important and influential than an unwatched slave. Why the attention that The Blaze gives Marty the Gimp Slave likely triples the attention he would otherwise receive from just his regular viewership.

Wow, Mary listens to Glenn Beck and not just a passing but really listening as it knows how long he talked about Rubio.

So, who’s paying you Mary? Who pays you to listen to a person you despise, and hang around The Blaze with moronic commentary?

My thinking exactly, Ben Franklin. She said she listened to Glenn Beck for at least 20 min. I can’t take 5 min of MSNBC! She’s been hanging around here long enough to be better informed and cross over from the dark side. There’s something more to her story… Government? Union? Or perhaps media?

They must feel that Ted Nugent is a menace to their socialistic causes because many people respect his opinions and insight on many issues. Maybe next week they can insult and demean his chin ****.

“I think it was reprehensible for him to be in the chamber,” Capehart said. “His presence there only — it sort of highlights just how coarse our political discourse has become.”

any oppositions to b.o. HUSSAIN is problematic, how the discourse has gotten coarse, i remember how when there is a republican president, and how much the left loves respects and treats republicans right. and the media is so respectable to the republicans, privacy and will not and let me repeat will not do false stories on republicans presidents(ask any dan rather)….

It seems like the man with the obsession is Martin Bashir. Most people just say the word out of frustration. Martin has actually spent time contemplating about the actual meaning and use of the word. Seems like he is obsessed.
