MSNBC Anchor Goes on Odd Ted Nugent Rant: ‘Obsession With Fecal Matter’ — ‘Fetish’ or ‘Personal Problem?’

It’s no secret that rock musician Ted Nugent has disdain for President Barack Obama’s policies. The outspoken conservative recently attended the State of the Union Address, later dismissing the president’s gun control proposals as “more nonsense” that will do little to save American lives. Following the speech, NBC’s Luke Russert interviewed Nugent and, on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir analyzed the exchange, accusing the rocker of having an “obsession with fecal matter.”

Bashir brought Russert, Democratic strategist Julian Epstein and Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart on his show to discuss Nugent’s presence at the State of the Union and to dissect the somewhat contentious interview that Russert conducted with the musician.

At the start of the segment, Bashir showed portions of the dialogue. In the short clips, Nugent commented about his recent claim that Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.) has “s**t for brains” and the rock star also joked that he had “s**t” his pants in an effort to get out of his interview with Russert.

After the reporter explained his back-and-forth with Nugent, Bashir turned his questioning to Capehart.

“Jonathan, Mr. Nugent appears to have some kind of obsession with fecal matter. Is this, do you think, a personal fetish or a personal problem?”

Capehart responded with, “Oh Lord, Martin,” then he proceeded to say that he thought Nugent’s presence in the chamber at the State of the Union was problematic and that it was representative of the poor state of public debate in America.

“I think it was reprehensible for him to be in the chamber,” Capehart said. “His presence there only — it sort of highlights just how coarse our political discourse has become.”

Last I checked, Mr. Nugent IS a U.S. Citizen AND a Taxpayer… Which means, he HAS THE RIGHT to be there..

Whether you think it appropriate or not, it is within his right to attend…

Go back to where-ever your moronic **** is from Mr. Bashir…. Your opinion is about as irrelevant as mine…. Although, I bet more people will read and approve of my opinion, than people who watch your show… I seriously believe that most of Mr. Bashir’s exposure happens after the fact in clips like this that seem to only display his ignorance…

Without us, he wouldn’t even have a job I bet…

I love Bashir. Thanks to metamucil I take a nice bashir every morining. And the best part is that I push a lever and it magically disappears, never to be seen again. Kind of like the remote for my tv. If it wasn’t for The Blaze I’d never see this moron. It’s debatable whether that’s a good thing….but I don’t miss any of the msnbcers.

PLACED strategically and purposefully in American everyday media to suffocate, nullify, and to disarm thinking people- they who have NOT American interest at heart, for their bosses have not American interest at heart-

The odd accent, the foreign faces, the fake smiles of him, Piers Morgan, Soledad Obrien, well u get the point- there is an intense desire to make AMerican exceptionalism below par so to speak.

Nothing Bashir says is surprising, as he uses a false front. Nugent’s presence at the sotu and his comments were just a springboard for more idiotic opinioins from a true hater of the USA

Remember the days when reporters reported the news, journalists presented the news, and commentators were careful to explain that opinions were opinions? Professionalism in the mainstream media is effectively dead. Unfortunately, so many are either too busy or intellectually too lazy to research and sort out the wheat from the chaff. It is well past time for a complete “house cleaning.”

These are the A**holes that if confronted by a mugger wielding a gun, they would crap their pants! If saved by an armed citizen they would not be able to stop thanking them. Then the next news cast they would preach the need for gun control, so the mugger would not be able to get a gun! These guys most likely park in a secured parking garage and work in a secured building all guarded by armed security personal. Then drive home to gated community patrolled by armed security.
