MSNBC Anchor Goes on Odd Ted Nugent Rant: ‘Obsession With Fecal Matter’ — ‘Fetish’ or ‘Personal Problem?’

It’s no secret that rock musician Ted Nugent has disdain for President Barack Obama’s policies. The outspoken conservative recently attended the State of the Union Address, later dismissing the president’s gun control proposals as “more nonsense” that will do little to save American lives. Following the speech, NBC’s Luke Russert interviewed Nugent and, on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir analyzed the exchange, accusing the rocker of having an “obsession with fecal matter.”

Bashir brought Russert, Democratic strategist Julian Epstein and Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart on his show to discuss Nugent’s presence at the State of the Union and to dissect the somewhat contentious interview that Russert conducted with the musician.

At the start of the segment, Bashir showed portions of the dialogue. In the short clips, Nugent commented about his recent claim that Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.) has “s**t for brains” and the rock star also joked that he had “s**t” his pants in an effort to get out of his interview with Russert.

After the reporter explained his back-and-forth with Nugent, Bashir turned his questioning to Capehart.

“Jonathan, Mr. Nugent appears to have some kind of obsession with fecal matter. Is this, do you think, a personal fetish or a personal problem?”

Capehart responded with, “Oh Lord, Martin,” then he proceeded to say that he thought Nugent’s presence in the chamber at the State of the Union was problematic and that it was representative of the poor state of public debate in America.

“I think it was reprehensible for him to be in the chamber,” Capehart said. “His presence there only — it sort of highlights just how coarse our political discourse has become.”

You should probably attend church more often. Today is Ash Wednesday for Christians. The priest anoints them with ashes on their forehead.

    Bashir is excellent at it.

Okay they just called semi aout weapons “weapons of mass destruction” . So that would mean we found a extremely high number of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. To go along with all the chemical biological labs and the tons of yellowcake.

MSNBC calls this leftist progressive one sided gossip fest news? Hagle has made his bed by his own actions and words, just as Kerry has done. Why else do you think Obama chose them? Thumbs up and three cheers to Ted Nugent.

So in “Blaze World” it’s ok for a conservative entertainer to suggest that an elected member of congress has “s**t for brains” and that he “s**t his pants” in fact they’ll put you on their magazine cover, but if you ridicule this as being somewhat inappropriate they take issue with your criticism.

I wonder how the Blaze would react if Bruce Springsteen or Bono suggested that George Bush had “s**t for brains”. We all know what happened to the Dixie Chicks
No wonder the GOP is viewed as the “stupid party”.

It’s funny.. These elitist gasbags who have been lying to the American people have no idea that they will be the ones running away from the torched masses. When the shiite hits the fan I’m going straight to the source. You lie or propagandize in the mass media? You will be made to pay. YOU have been the dog and pony show. I think we are smart enough to know where it all starts and ends. I also know I will not have to do a thing. Nor do i have any plans. Your days are numbered bashir. It is the Natural order of things. People simply do not take kindly to saboteurs, liars, cheats, egomaniacs, charlatans. Look to history dear friends. We are witnessing the walking dead- The zombie Apocalypse. The propaganda media. Die by the sword..

What do you mean ‘think’? Obama gave them a headquarters in the White House and named it the ‘White House media center”. That’s true. 100% true. It was the first thing they did and then informed the ‘press’ they would not be needed. They would be provided these things. It’s pretty much scrubbed, but anyone should be able to remember this one.

    @marybethelizabeth.
You say you are not a democrat but you sure do research like a democrat. If you read the snopes report carefully, you will see what you failed to see. That is, by cutting and pasting selectively you changed the whole tenet of the piece notwithstanding the fact that Snopes found it indeterminate. However, as is so often the case with liberal/progressives, you state falsehoods hoping that like the liberal/progressives who never bother to look up anything, conservatives will not do the leg work needed to research something. Conservatives, for the most part, will research something instead of just listening to what MSNBC or the Comedy Channel reports and yes, even Fox News.

What do you expect from PMSNBC, the ‘network’ of The Jackass Party? The jackass is a stubborn and ignorant side show freak-of-a-creature resulting from the unnatural inbreeding of the horse and the mule. Fortunately, the jackass cannot reproduce, insuring its own eventual extinction.

Yeah, when you don’t work for big media, when you don’t have them paying your checks, you have the freedom to use the most effective means of communication possible? They attack Ted Nugent, because he still knows how to communicate effectively with teenagers, and adults, with his conversations about “the man” (the media?)? Fascination with communicating effectively with the general public, really bothers some people, because they know they are ignoring their conscience?

Here’s a suggestion for the media, don’t let the big words, confuse you? Ted Nugent is popular because when he pulls on a string, it resonates with the vibration of power, truth, and rock and roll?

    You can cuss and fuss,
Or you can rock with ease,
    It’s writing about Ted Nugent,
that makes you dream not scream?
Cranking out the hits for kids who ain’t split,
Jamming with the ryhymes that’s not a crime,
Glenn Beck’s all about, getting rid of the slime,
he’s gonna rock your wold, just wait and see,
Ted Nugents fighting for civil rights,
that’s what you call, being all you can be?
