President Barack Obama didn’t make a single call on the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack, the White House told Congress in a letter released on Thursday. Predictably, Republican lawmakers slammed the president for his apparent lack of action.
“During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said, adding that had Obama picked up a phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks might still be alive because he might have been able to demand immediate U.S. aid.
More from the Washington Times:
The White House has said Mr. Obama was kept up to date on the attack by his staff, though after being alerted to the attack in a pre-scheduled afternoon meeting he never spoke again with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin E. Dempsey or then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Mr. Panetta told Congress last week that he knew immediately the attacks were a terrorist assault, though the White House downplayed that notion in the first five days after the attack.
Republican senators said they will still push for more information on who changed the talking points given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who went on the Sunday talk shows after the attacks and blamed protests against an anti-Islam video.
GOP senators on Thursday temporarily blocked a vote on the nomination of Chuck Hagel as defense secretary. The Senate came up two votes short of the 60 needed to move Hagel’s nomination forward as lawmakers prepare to leave town for a week’s break. Democrats hold a 55-45 edge in the Senate.
Republicans had been blocking the confirmation of their former colleague and Vietnam veteran until they received information from the White House on President Barack Obama’s actions during the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.
“We still don’t know what the president of the United States was doing the night of the attack and who he was talking to. We know who he wasn’t talking to,” Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 11:45amObama did nothing and our Americans died. Sec. of State Clinton did nothing, Americans died and she avoided testifying for 4 months to get her story straight. Obama was packing for a Las Vegas Campaign trip the next morning. I am surprised that Everyone in this Administration’s Diplomatic Corps didn’t resign. I guess the ” dumbing down of America ” goes higher up than anyone thought. Anyone that will support a 2016 ” Hillary Run ” has blood on their hands and *%!# for brains.

Fellow Posters beware;
Comrade Obama’s Secret Service (SS) did come to my door for a comment I did make to a fellow poster that he hadn’t do anything like that “YET”; the SS wanted to know what I meant by “YET”
I explained that there was no Nefarious plans hidden in the “YET” and it was only a figure of speech.
After and hour interrogation downtown at our local State Police Barracks by the Obama SS they were satisfied I was not on any nefarious mission to harm Comrade Obama. So yes indeed the Obama FBI and SS do read this wee dribble we do post.
A word to the wise should be sufficient.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 10:57amFor Seven decades I have witnessed Presidents come and go; But this is the first time I have ever feared the President of the United States of America truly hated what America stands for, and with out a doubt is working to destroy our Constitution and Republic. Congress must do there job and stop this Marxist maniac before he completes his Manchurian Canadate Mission to destroy U.S.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 6:29amSeems like it is becoming very evident that he wants the title but doesn’t want to do the work. He has appointed so many czars and departments that he feels he can delegate all of his responsibility so he can continue to campaign and push his agenda.
I would prefer a leader who took his responsibility seriously.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 12:53amI am very upset with the President. The President lied to the whole Nation on 9/12/2012. To save his ass in the election. We will in time find out the truth about Benghazi. He lied about that video tape for 3 weeks, that he said was the cause for the terrorist attack in Benghazi. Do you realize know one has spoken to the survivors of the Benghazi attack. This is one of the biggest fraudulent acts in American History.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 12:05amWhy the Prez wasn’t up doing his CONSTITUTIONAL duties—which is Security of America and its citizens. He was drunk/high (1st debate) and incoherent and the Secret Service should come forth and tell the nation. It has happened why to many times (being a no show). Look how many pixs showing him with beer. He has dishonored the office 1000 times more than BillyBob.
McCain voted aye on the cloture vote (rotten sob), this is his last term so the real side is showing–does getting shot down really make one a hero? I say No it makes them a POW and that’s it.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 12:02amThis took 6 months to come out, I guess we let the investigation proceed in to what happened and we’ll be dead by the time it’s complete. This is giving him deniability, he was not involved, members of the administration are falling on their swords for him. I get so tired of nothing being his fault, he’s been in office for over 4 years and he is in no way to be blamed for any of the ills plaguing our country at all. Behghazi not him, the economy Bush and the republicans and the media is totally complicit in not holding him accountable for anything.

Feb. 15, 2013 at 12:02amRush Limbaugh yesterday recognized the Obama method. I saw this a long time ago but Rush explained how Obama avoids blame for anything he does or for his policies. .
Rush put it this way:
“he will never allow himself for even one day to be seen as actually governing or presiding over any of this”
Many voters, even many who dislike his policies, like his speeches. As a result, people do not connect Obama with the negativity going on throughout America. He is forever campaigning against the negativity like he had no role in causing it. He blames the Washington establishment as if he is not a major part of it. He campaigns against his own policies and keeps out of reach those who understand his method and would confront him. The MSM obviously will not.
He will continue campaigning until his eight years are over and many will still believe that he had no part in the ever burgeoning debt, weakened military, middle-class having the worst time ever surviving etc..
What did he do on the night our Consulate in Benghazi was attacked.
He stayed away, passing the buck, thinking about how he could use it for political advantage, like blaming a video for causing a protest. If the night passed without deaths, he would be blaming America for being too liberal with expression of ideas and free speech and offering regulations against such videos. After the deaths, he promised to bring the perpetrators to justice. Americans, even those highly educated fall prey to the Obam

Feb. 14, 2013 at 11:38pmWhat was he doing that night that was more important than trying to protect Americans? If we had a functional press they might ask that question.
Just reinforces that this guy doesn’t know what he is doing, how to lead, how to manage, or how to prioritize. Explains why he wants free pre school so the kids will start the Obama chants a year earlier so they won’t know have to evaluate his sorry performance.

The jewish religion is not going to come out of this fiasco unscathed, its’ not wonder they have so many problems with everyone else on this planet. The white women in this country will be tarnished for generations.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 11:15pmOne more thing if I may. I think we look around us and see all of our wiz-bang gadgetry and think of our society as one thats incredibly advanced but I think that is a mistake. We are still in our infancy as far as intelligence and will be prone to these foolish steps backwards for a long time to come yet. There may come a day long after I’m gone when a fool like Obama (sorry Beck, he who’s name shall not be spoken) comes along with failed ideas and he will be intellectually shunned because freedom and the skills to preserve it will be ingrained in or DNA. We are not there yet, at least many of us aren’t. We are about to enter a modern day dark ages and will have a trial by fire before we relearn the needed skills for a rebirth of freedom and government by and for the people. For now tough times are ahead, akin to a modern day dark ages before the next Renaissance like America has been for the last 200 years.

Feb. 14, 2013 at 10:51pmCommon sense or the lack thereof has been mentioned in several posts here as the root of the problem and that may be the case to to an extent. I see the problem as deeper than that because freedom and the maintaining of it is an acquired skill and is no longer taught. Human civilization existed for 6000 years before a group of men with knowledge collected over ions gathered and gave us our constitution. Hence the progressive movement and it’s achieved goal of controlling the education system so as to program our little minds of mush into progressive and dependent liberal robots. Should the liberal factory fail then you have control of a complicit media as a second line of defense to finish of the populace and gain your control. Mission accomplished folks, we are outnumbered.
