Brave Mother Refuses Doctors’ Advice to Abort Her Baby — And Here’s What Happened Next
Coming on the heels of this week’s horrifically tragic death of a New York woman who suffered a ruptured uterus following a late-term abortion, there’s an inspirational story to share — one that, ironically, also involves abortion. In 2011, doctors told Jade Clarke of Yorkshire, England, that her baby wouldn’t survive if she continued with her pregnancy. But rather than complying with medical professionals’ advice that she terminate, she forged on.
After she delivered the child, a baby boy named Riley, doctors soon realized that their assessments were wrong. But despite the infant’s survival, the road hasn’t been easy. He spent the majority of his first 17 months in the hospital, with doctors this week finally permitting him to go home with Jade and the baby’s father, Rikki. While he was born in Sept. 2011 and went home a few weeks after his birth, Riley returned to receive medical care in December of that year and received in-patient medical care until this past Wednesday.
In addition to being born with his heart on the wrong side of his body, the child also had disconnected valves and twisted bowels, the Daily Mail reports. But his 22-year-old mother, determined to keep the child, battled alongside doctors to save her son’s life.
“Doctors told me time and time again that Riley would have no chance, and I should consider an abortion,” Jade said. “But he’s an angel sent from above. He’s my first child and I just felt I wanted to keep him.”
Even though he’s been released by the hospital, Riley continues to have health challenges. Doctors claim he may never walk, he has a tracheostomy that is attached to a ventilator and a kidney that is not properly formed.
Jade and Rikki are full-time caretakers for the child, but despite the hurdles they are overjoyed that he is now home and that they will have more time to spend with him.
“He’s such a happy chappy. He loves Tigger from Winnie the Pooh and is always bouncing about,” she said, going on to say that the challenges are entirely worth it. “He needs watching constantly as sometimes he tries to pull out his tubes. It’s challenging but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Who are you to play God by having a woman decide who will live and who will be aborted? God created the baby in the mother’s womb, and a woman has no right to destroy what God has created, EVER!!! Whatever mankind sows, mankind will also reap. If life is sowed, then life will be reaped; if death is sowed, death will be reaped. With all the new science and medicine that is available to modern society, why is it that death is still so prevelant, and increased so much among the young? Could it be that it”s because it’s the young who are killing their babies, and so God Almigthy is judging the young of this world today? People are worried about gun violence, wars and the like, but take no thought about the hundreds of millions of babies that are ripped apart in the mother’s womb, and then vacuumed out in pieces, and then tossed into the garbage, or sold to the highest bidder as some merchandise for profit. How disgusting, and you wonder why God has not intervened in the affairs of mankind? Mankind lifts their arms into the air and then thrust their middle finger up at God Almighty, telling Him to get out of our lives, and then expect Him to love us, care for us, feed us, heal us, and give us what we want? We are only deceiving ourselves. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you, but until then expect nothing but what we deserve from Him……….NOTHING!!!!!

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 1:23pmPrior to the 1930′s not one Protestant faith even allowed birth control. Now it’s not even an issue and many faiths even allow Abortion. This is what happens when we try to twist Jesus words to fit man made doctrines, It just doesn’t work. The fabric of scripture is perfectly woven together by the Holy Spirit so that everything fits together PERFECTLY, there are no contradictions, there is no confusion, it’s only when we grasp one thread and pull it that the entire fabric becomes distorted. It is not possible to twist even one verse or passage of truth and have it not distort or contradict the other passages. In this regard Protest-ant theology is an either-or proposition whereas the truth of scripture is both-and. For instance God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever should believe in Him might be saved AND Not everyone who calls Jesus Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heave but ONLY those who DO the will of Jesus Father Who is in Heaven AND we are justified by what we DO and NOT by Faith Alone AND anyone who eats the bread and drinks the cup without recognizing the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ eats and drinks condemnation upon himself AND If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left AND the CHURCH Is the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth. : )

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 8:09pm@HILLBILLYINNY – Thank you. I find that some interpret all of scripture in light of John 3:16 instead of interpreting John 3:16 in light of all other scripture. If/when we try to build an entire theology based on one or two proof texts we necessarily end up using those same proof texts to deny or reject other verses or passages. The Gospel is BOTH/AND not EITHER/OR. No passage in scripture denies or rejects or supersedes any another verse or passage, I have even seen some people try to pit Paul’s words against Jesus words as if Paul’s words somehow cancel out Jesus words or modify what Jesus taught. Peter warned of Paul’s writings “His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.” (1 Peter 3:16) Over the years I have found that many will quote Paul where he seems to support their beliefs and completely ignore him where he seems to contradict their doctrines (such as Hebrews 10:26, Ephesians 5:3-12 and 1 Cor 11:27-29). We must be honest and ask ourselves if we are pitting scripture against scripture, there are no SUPER VERSES that cancel out other verses, it’s all one cohesive salvation message. Verses strengthen other verses they don’t cancel them out. It’s an all or nothing proposition. Something is not quite right if/when we start to imply that any verse cancels out or contradicts another.

I pay a premium for that insurance and can assure you have paid tens of thousands out of pocket. By the way she is now 30 and lives in our home. “The National Health Service (NHS) is the publicly funded healthcare system of England. It is the largest and the oldest single-payer healthcare system in the world. It is able to function in the way that it does because it is primarily funded through the general taxation system, in a similar fashion to the funding model for fire departments, police departments, and primary schools. The system provides healthcare to anyone normally legally resident in England, and also any other part of the United Kingdom (should a person from another UK area be travelling in England, for example), with almost all services free at the point of use for all such people…Since 1948, patients have been charged for some services such as eye tests, dental care, prescriptions, and aspects of long-term care. However, these charges are often lower than equivalent services provided by a private health care provider.” Perhaps it’s YOU who should do your research before you flatulate.

My point is that the same people here, who lament all day about the loss of personal freedom, lack of accountability, growth of government, implementation of socialized Obamacare… are the same people that now praise the decision of these parents, and by extension the system that permitted that decision.
My argument is one of principle. They are lacking in principle. They want it both ways. I am telling them that it is not possible.

Being in and out of hospitals your entire life – is no life.

The child is a 1 time expense. Unlimited immigration of people who don’t work & won’t assimilate are not.
Of my kids the premie is the smart one & less expensive. All the cost was up front.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 12:50pm@VERCEOFTREASON- You are typical of all hypocrite pinche pedejo liberales. Just like your god Obomanation the value of human life always has a dollar figure. If that is true then you owe the world one centavo Mexican currency and we can still give you back some change. Only hijo de putas like you liberals will hold your grubby hands out for years of “unemployment benefits” and then complain about something that saves a baby’s life. Who the hell are you to decide what constitutes a worthwhile life? If deadbeats and government thieves weren’t ripping us off constantly nothing would cost what it does now, Based on libs formula for the value of life all of you should be in a compost heap. All you do is pollute the atmosphere with your carbon mouth print.

This is not exactly a ‘normal’ preemie.
Like that girl born without facial bones, the parent knew they would be raising a life long invalid.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 1:25pmAccording to your Exegesis Jesus told Peter that being the Son of God means Jesus is a Pebble and on that Pebble Jesus would build His church. Makes no sense, this is what happens when we try to twist Jesus words to fit man made doctrines, It just doesn’t work. : )
(Jn 3:16, Matt 7:21, Jm 2:24, 1 Cor 11:27-29, Heb 10:26, 1 Tim 3:15)

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 7:34pm@CHRISTIANNATION – I just want you to know although my post appeared directly beneath yours it was not directed at you. Sometimes The Blaze misplaces my posts. My post was in reply to someone else, I have to admit I am not much at “Blogging” and should have used an @recipient to avoid any confusion.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 9:28pmReply to SNOOOP1E. You said, “it’s only when we grasp one thread and pull it that the entire fabric becomes distorted.” Then the erroneous statement: “Not everyone who calls Jesus Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heave but ONLY those who DO the will of Jesus Father Who is in Heaven AND we are justified by what we DO and NOT by Faith Alone.”
The Apostle Paul says,”For there is no distinction, since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are now justified by his grace as a GIFT, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3: 23-24)
It is a simple, perfect thread, that is why he has given us the “GIFT” of grace, no work can ever attain a place in heaven. Honey, Jesus did all the work on the cross.

Posted on February 16, 2013 at 12:59pm@MERMAID – Mermaid “Honey” all that I did was quote you scripture, your argument is not with me it is with the Holy Spirit, those are not my words they the words of the Holy Spirit. You assigned a belief to the scripture I quoted and then challenged that belief. You built a straw man and then tore it down. I simply quoted you scripture, if something in scripture causes you distress because it appears to contradict what you have come to believe your argument is not with me it is with the Holy Spirit . I think if you read Romans in light of all other scripture instead of reading all scripture in light of Romans this might help. Paul’s letter s do not cancel out other verses in the Bible. It’s BOTH/AND not EITHER/OR. St Peter warned that Paul’s writings are difficult to understand and the ignorant and unstable twist them as they do many other scriptures to their own destruction. Is it possible you are focusing on one or 2 verses that support what you believe while failing to recognize the other verses that contradict what you believe? James 2:24, Matt 7:21, Eph 5:3-12, Rom 10:26. Remember all scripture should be in harmony not in conflict, no verses cancel out other verses.
P.S. My wife said stop calling other women’s husbands “Honey” ; ) she is joking……

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 12:12pmI wonder how many babies have been lost to abortion because the mother was given the wrong diagnosis…only to find out later a healthy baby had been murdered. Good for this mom and I hope Riley will thrive!!

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 12:21pmNot to drop a bomb on the happy parade, but this is what happens when many are forced to pay for the decisions of others. I would applaud this couple, if they were held accountable, responsible, for their child’s welfare. But they are not. This child will cost other hard working people millions and millions of dollars. The parents’ decision takes from others. Their decision steals some freedom from others. Their decision takes money from one family and transfers that money to them.
You can not have it both ways. Welfare is welfare. I simply ask for consistency in logic, reason, and principle. Now, crucify me.

Exactly what other choice was there? Not everyone believes that abortion is a valid choice to be made.

Posted on February 15, 2013 at 6:06pm@ The Big Jerk, So your solution is too abort every unborn child who may be born with a disability just so that child does not become a burden on the taxpayers. So should we kill every person who is disabled and are on Medicaid and SSI because they also are a burden on the taxpayers? How about the elderly? The problem is NOT the Disabled, children or adults, nor is it the elderly, it is our Government who extends these programs to allow more people on the system who don’t belong on it. So quite blaming Parents who choose to bring a child into this world, and start blaming the Government for the programs they create that we cannot pay for, oh and get your head out of your arse, it is unattractive.

It’s amazing to me that, on any given day, one can read stories of the most heinous nature only to click another link and read one so full of hope and love. There is truly a battle between good and evil in this world. It’s sometimes hard to believe we all share the same DNA.
God bless little Riley and may God continue to bless this family.
