John McCain Snaps at David Gregory Over Benghazi: ‘Do You Care Whether Or Not Four Americans Died?’

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) asked an armor piercing question in the midst of some contentious crosstalk on today’s edition of “Meet the Press.” After being asked by host David Gregory what the scandal in Benghazi would be “if the worst thing were true,” McCain said he didn’t know the answer to that question, but wanted answers to other open inquiries anyway.

“We have had a massive cover-up on the part of the administration…” McCain began, before Gregory started pushing back in response.

“A massive cover up of what?” Gregory asked. “Susan Rice said there was a lot of confusion…”

Before Gregory could finish his question, McCain snapped, “Do you care, David? Do you care, David? I’m asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? The reasons for that? And shouldn’t people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died, including a very dear man?”

“A cover-up of what?” Gregory persisted.

“Of the information concerning the deaths of four brave Americans,” McCain said.

No they don’t care. But a bungled burglary in the 1970′s was enough to take down the President of the United States. Only when the liberal bully media decides it’s an “outrage” do Presidents fall. Benghazi was more than enough to finish Barry Soetoro , but the media “decided” to protect him. McCain is a little late and a dollar short. I didn’t see the outrage when he was striving to kiss Obama’s *ss at the state of the union speech.
Remember what the liberal media did for this President and what they’ve done against the American people..
    Remember Benghazi.

When do the Republicans get smart and completely stop talking to the liberal media ? I mean totally ignore them which will isolate the media as the corrupt progressives they are . You give them power by giving them access ,it might be painful at first but in the long run the media will be powerless.

Maybe if McCain really cared he and the GOP would begin Impeachment proceedings against the treasons that this Administration has perpetrated. Selling weapons to Drug Cartels in Mexico and doing the same in Libya via Turkey to Al Queda linked rebels fighting the President of Syria…. Oh McCain is all for selling them arms maybe that’s why we are not hearing anything on why 4 Americans (1 Ambassador and 3 CIA operatives) died in the attack on the CIA Mission in Benghazi.

I watched this and it was pure political theater. Let’s look for a second. Under the Bush administration their were eleven attacks on US embassy personnel: in Calcutta, Pakistan (3 times), Indonesia, Uzbekistan (the country Herman Cain didn’t know existed), Saudi Arabia, Syria, Athens, Yemen (2) and Istanbul. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorist_attacks_on_U.S._diplomatic_facilities

Total dead? 58. Not counting 9-11 or the Iraq war (7000 dead). Fifty eight dead at of US diplomatic facilities during the Bush administration. Why did Bush allow so many deaths?

Americans are rightfully horrified with Americans die overseas. But on President Obama’s watch, the safety of diplomats has certainly been far safer than under Bush’s.

I’ll cut to the point. The Republicans are polling less than brussel sprouts and cockroaches in opinion polls. So they are going to beat this dead horse as long as they can. What else do they have?

Don’t show us how dumb you really are. This Nimrod and the rest of his commie buddies have covered this up from day one and it was a gun running operation from the start. It is all a dog and pony show on the part of McCain who is in bed with Obama. He is deceitfully portraying to Americans that there is still a two party political system.

Think about McCain’s recent votes in the Sentate that afforded the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt with F16s and confirmed Kerry. McCain votes will further the confirmation of Hagel and Brennan as well as afford a pathway to citizenship for over eleven million ILLEGAL immigrants.

Think about the following words of John McCain in 2008 when he was deceitfully runi under the Republican banner for President of the United States.

McCain warns supporters, calls Obama decent man
      October 10, 2008

McCain was booed at a town-hall meeting here when he rebuked a man who said he was β€œscared…to bring a child up” under an Obama presidency. β€œI have to tell you he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States,” McCain said to audible disapproval.
The man was one of nine who appealed to McCain to confront Obama more forcefully, several of them raising specific controversies dominating news, including Obama’s relationships with Bill Ayers and the group ACORN. McCain seized the microphone from the hands of a woman who called Obama β€œan Arab,” and scolded her. β€œHe’s a decent family man that I happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues,” McCain said, to scant approval.

      @Send,

There is one HUGE difference from the Bush administration and this one: accountability.

Under the Bush administration, President Bush was blamed for everything; from the 9/11 tragedy to global warming to a war on gays to big oil deals to the killing of baby seals…. the list goes on and on and on.

Yet, under this administration, they keep getting passes from the press.

While I am not a Bush fan (in the least!), I do recognize that we understood who attacked us and why.

Under this administration, Benghazi is attacked and suddenly no two stories are the same from the personnel involved.

Thus, it is not a question of who is to blame: it is a question of the handling of the situation after the fact.

I firmly believe that this administration let the four people die, believing they could spin the incident to make it appear as if a protest got out of control.

Why? Obama wanted to make sure that the “low information voters” believed that he had the terrorist problem under complete control. The last thing he needed just weeks before the election is a major terrorist attack.

Obama wanted to get re-elected and he didn’t care if it meant people had to die for him to get it. In his mind, he truly believes that it was a sacrifice that this country was willing to make on his behalf, because he is arrogant, conceited, and pompous.

McCain is not ‘in bed with Obama’.

He is just, deep down, a reasonable and decent politician who – when pushed to the very limit (as at the rally where audience members were scared of Obama because ‘he is an Arab’) voiced his discontent at the extreme personal vilification of Obama driven by the GOP poropaganda machine.

He also shares some geopolitical philosophies with Obama, e.g. we have to work with allies in the Middle East. At the same time he is very critical. He just balks at crazy conspiracy theories.

The biggest problem is we no longer have a President, we have a dictator. “If congress fails to act, I will act by way of Executive Actions”.

Obama acts outside of the Constitution again and again. He has no remorse. He obeys no laws. He is guilty of “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” yet he is protected by the Lamestream Media (propaganda dept of the US). If this was truly a just society, we would see Obama swinging from the gallows, and at least half of congress as well.

Like it or not, Obama is immune from impeachment, and all we can do is minimize the damage for the next 4 years, and wait for someone to be elected that might destroy the country with slightly less enthusiasm.

No need to go back to Watergate, which of course was not the crime for which Nixon was impeached. It was the lying during the investigations and firing of the special prosecutor. Oh and of course the tapes. Anyway, how about some concern and outraged at the number of young Americans killed in Iraq. A war that was started based on a series of lies related to WMDs. But I guess 4.486 deaths is not something we should care about either.

If Bush is so foul and inept why do you find it acceptable for the slug to imitate him. I see this tactic all the time from your type…. “Bush did it too”. You choose to believe your source, that’s fine. But even if you do, the fact is this incident happened under ObaMao and the slug is solely responsible for his own behavior. If you are incapable of addressing this incident without invoking the former president it’s because you have no argument or perhaps you have a higher opinion of Bush than you pretend, since you need to invoke his name in order to justify the slugs actions.

WMDs were one of a dozen or so reasons to go to war, which by the way never ended. I know you think the war ended, but then you never had skin in the game. There was an armistice & Iraq broke it repeatedly. Of course JROOK is of the opinion that if you break an armistice a few times & do nothing then it sets a precedent that you must do … well nothing.

JROOK better burn all those tapes of inspectors being held up by Iraqi personal during their surprise inspections in the mid & late 1990s. After you stall inspectors long enough then the effect of SURPRISE inspection is lost. All the stuff going out the back door & JROOK might as well as carried it himself.

Besides the WMDs are in Syria. Try again.

What a leftist loon. The sky did fall & over 1,000 people were heart. The same day we have a larger asteroid pass by earth very close.

Maybe Meteors should visit Meteor Crater which is national park near Winslow, Arizona. It is a mile across in diameter & struck 50,000 years ago. If Meteors looked up more information they would find so many more craters of various ages around the earth.

Even if there’s damning evidence against him, and he gets impeached, 22 Democratic Senators are gonna have to be disillusioned enough to break their loyalty with him and vote to kick him out of the White House. That’s 22 people that you’d better hope have a shred of ethics in them.

I’m not saying it’s a waste of time, impeachment will certainly make Obama look bad, and this isn’t just a matter of lying to Congress over some Oval Office hanky-panky. But I’m not doubting that this would be an uphill battle.

It would be nice to impeach this fraud, but you would have to get the Senate to convict Obama and that would never happen. I have no doubt that the House would impeach him but that would not be enough. The media and the Senate could have pictures of him crushing the skulls of a 1000 babies and they would still back him.

The leaders of the states wanted a strong and fair national government. But they also wanted to protect individual freedoms and prevent the government from abusing its power. They believed they could do this by having three separate branches of government: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. This separation is described in the first three articles, or sections, of the Constitution.

And where are the Bolsheviks crying out and using this to their advantage???? The silence is deafening!

The US is attacked because after WWII, we used our power to prevent other dictators from taking over the world.

Ironically, many of the people who hate the US wouldn’t even be alive were it not for our largesse. They would have died of hunger, disease or war, or they would never have been born if the US hadn’t given them water, food, medicine, housing, security, etc.

And many of the nations with the wealth to buy weapons to attack us, wouldn’t have that wealth in this first place if the US hadn’t traded with them directly or indirectly.

      Soybomb,

Embassy attacks occur. Big deal. When entire staffs of individuals are hurried out of a country and a coverup takes place, that’s when the problems start.

I’m not judging, but if I was a member of congress, I would like to know if the administration actually did use this place for an operations point for Syria. I would also like to know who the forty or so people who were also there were.

Sorry, Soybomb but your listing # 42 is inaccurate. There was no a group of violent protesters that stormed the US consulate at Benghazi (Libya) against the recent anti-Islam blasphemous video film. The film had nothing to do with the attack. It was a planned attack. There are a few questions that I have yet to hear that needs to be explained. Who came up with the lie about the “spontaneous protests” that was told for at least two weeks even after it was known to be a lie? Obama told this lie before the UN weeks after it was known to be untrue. Who told the two different commanders to “stand down” when they were preparing to send help? They were defying orders and were relieved of duty. They need to be brought to DC to tell what they know. You NEVER leave your men to die when help can be sent. NEVER!

But with Benghazi, we were mislead and lied to; this administration did not want us to know the details and was willing to change the story to fit Obama’s foreign policy, which was, namely, that he had the whole “terrorist” situation under control.

      Obama lied and people died!

They allowed it to happen for more than few reasons to make certain powerful groups happy. If you recall the weeks and months prior to 9-11, we(USA) were about to make steep defense spending cuts which Rumsfeld (and surely halliburton and kbr were against) was against outspokenly and publically. “Poor judgment” That is the problem I have with McCain; He consistently shows poor judgment in the company he keeps. I just wish he could resist the Democrats like he resisted the North Vietnamese. Sometimes it is appropriate to compromise, but the way the Democratic party is constituted now I don’t see any room for compromise. On nearly every issue they come down on the wrong side. They seem to agressively promote evil and their proposals are antithetical to the Founding. There can be no compromise with evil and no compromise with its synonym tyranny.

      Can you count to 7?

The hired guards at Benghazi ran off. That looks bad, but since they were only armed with batons, I would have also. (See sofrep.com)

Walkabout, it was not a 7-hour firefight. It was an initial attack of less than 90 minutes at the Consulate followed by a second attack at a different location after a 4-hour lull. Even if troops had been sent to the Consulate at the first shot, they would have arrived after the fighting ended and would have not been in place to prevent the second attack across town. VERCEOFREASON/DORA_ASSBAG, SENDTHEMEATEEYORES, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You two idiots can’t even tell the same like well enough. Okay, maybe the two of you got your information from the Daily Kos because it did have a story that leaves the attacks and deaths to sound as though they actually did occur on Embassy grounds and that all of the deaths were Embassy employees of either local nationals or Americans. So, I took the opportunity to look up each and every one of those listed in MEAT’s post above. Damn MEAT, you really had your tap dancing shoes of for that performance. Let’s start with the 2006 attack in Greece. That was a single RPG fired into an empty and unguarded building. No fatalities, no injuries, but YOU just had to include it, LOL! 2006, Pakistan attack was the ramming of Diplomat David Foy’s car with a car bomb, killing him and his driver, as well the occupants of the car bomb. Why did I mention them? Its a really funny thing about these death statistics. The total given by the two meat heads listed above include all of the terrorists killed in action to include the suicide bombers. They certainly were not Embassy employees, but they got counted by these two as well the Kos. Oh, the ramming occurred a short distance from the Embassy and not on the grounds. Of all of these attacks, almost all of them occurred off the embassy grounds. The majority of the deaths were local police and soldiers, and Foy was the only U.S. and his driver was the only employee confirme

      DORA & MEAT Continued.
I see that I got cut off even with a number of spaces remaining.
Of all of these attacks as I was saying, Foy’s driver is the only embassy employee that I can actually confirm. But, the police and soldiers killed were for the most part guarding the exterior of several embassies. Many of the attacks were car bombs that were detonated remotely or timed. The closest was some 20 meters from the intended building or gate. Obviously the terrorists have no concern for their own countrymen who happen to be near or passing by. Those people make the majority of the tragic deaths and injuries.
Okay, sit back and think about this smokescreen provided by these three. I say three because the Kos says the same thing. When it comes to comparing these attacks to the Benghazi attack is like comparing apples to walnuts. The multitude of attacks they discuss were began quickly and were over in mere minutes if not seconds for most. The whole question with Benghazi is why no assistance was allowed during a known multi-hour coordinated assault. Regardless of the other excuses, we had fighter jet aircraft on the ground in Italy and Spain that could have been overhead within 20 to 30 minutes of becoming airborne. Why did those in charge allow it to continue while 0bama went to bed so he could campaign the following morning?
DORA and MEAT continue to prove Mark Twain right, lies, damned lies and statistics.

@VERCEOFBS: 54 embassies members KILLED UNDER BUSH
      Where was Republican outrage?

Why should there have been republican outrage? Bush didn’t make up some BS story about the killings being caused by a laughable anti muslim movie, then have the nutty producer in America arrested as opposed to going after the blood thirsty bad guys where the killings happened. When the average person knew differently, he didn’t continue on for weeks with the stupid story line about a movie being the cause. He didn’t call the victims bumps in the road. His secretary of state didn’t say about the dead Americans: “What difference, at this point, does it make ….”. Of course there wasn’t that three stooge finger pointing comedy routine where everyone points the finger to someone else with the inevitable “it wasn’t me” where officials being questioned also strangely didn’t know who did or was responsible for anything. Witness to the incident didn’t mysteriously vanish for comment. These are some of the reasons republicans and level headed truth seeking Americans weren’t outraged, but are over the Benghazi incident.

You know this, you just come here to confuse the issue with you tomfoolery and to cover for the criminal activities of your president because you are affaired he’ll be impeached if an earnest investigation takes place.

On foreign policy, McCain is no RINO. When national security is a stake, he remembers his days at the Hanoi Hilton. Perhaps he needs to look at the Democrats across the isle as the enemies that they are. Then he might become useful in domestic policy battles too. The days of playing “lets make a deal” with Joe Lieberman are finished. The other Party is now an enemy of the United States and will destroy it from within.

Ted Kennedy’s road to being the ‘Lion of the Senate’ whatever that means was paved by helpful friends, politicians, media and corrupt authorities after he left a woman to die. What ****** me off is the (R)’s en masse, like McCain, who sit on their hands and DON’T stand up for US. McCain has been as ineffectual as any (R) out there. They bend to agreements with (D)s time after time after time, and all on the premise that it’s ‘for the good of the people’! Then after the fact, they say, ‘well, we tried’, with a sad look on their face.

So for McCain to, once again, get on his high horse and start bitching about how this administration does things or how they won’t talk about Benghazi is absolutely galling.

Both Houses of Congress have they ability to call hearings, demand answers, issue subpoenas and hold people in Contempt. But NEITHER House is doing so.
