SNL Depicts Jesus Slaughtering Romans in Tarantino-Style Clip ‘Djesus Uncrossed’

(Photo: NBC)
Christoph Waltz, the memorable actor from recent Quentin Tarantino hits “Inglorious Basterds” and “Django Unchained,” hosted Saturday Night Live this week, adding yet another “historical fantasy” to his résumé.
The only difference? This time, it wasn’t soldiers or a former slave exacting revenge — it was Jesus Christ.
“He’s risen from the dead…and he’s preaching anything but forgiveness,” the announcer says as Waltz, dressed as Jesus, kills a number of Romans with a sword.
The movie also features “Brad Pitt” as St. Peter, the announcer declares as the actor playing Pitt recruits apostles to assist in the violent effort.
“I need me 11 apostles. We’re going to be doing one thing, and one thing only: killing Romans,” he says in imitation of Pitt’s speech from “Inglorious Basterds.” “The Roman will be disgusted by us; the Roman will talk about us, and the Roman will fear us. Each one of you owes me 100 Roman scalps!”
“Samuel L. Jackson” then makes an appearance Judas Iscariot, along with “Ving Rhames” as Pontius Pilate.
“When you get to heaven,” Waltz lightly intones while holding a large gun, “say hi to my dad.”
Reviews of the clip are mixed. Rolling Stone described it as “stunning, in the best way possible,” adding: “Every last line in this gory sketch was written with impeccable sophistication.”
The left-leaning Huffington Post, meanwhile, acknowledged the inevitable controversy and asked on the front page: “How did SNL get away with this?”

You may or may not see that person’s face when they are judged by God (if they do not repent first, which I hope that they do). If we do watch people during the judgement, we will NOT be sitting there, happy, thinking to ourselves “yay! He got what he deserved!” Even if we saw people who in this life did things as heinous as Hitler and Sadaam Hussein did get judged, we would not be happy about it.
The Bible says that after God has judged everyone, He will wipe away the tears from everyone whose name is written in the book of life. Why will be be crying? Will it be for the people that we were never able to reach? Or will it be for the things that we did in this life that we regret? I don’t know. Perhaps one day you will cry for the glee you seemed to express over another person’s lost state, or for the comment that you made that might have further hardened someone’s heart, pushing them farther from the Lord?
Jesus died for everyone. He loves everyone, and wants everyone to repent. None of us should feel an iota of happiness over the lost condition of others.

BS. I know plenty of folks who don’t put faith in the Decalogue and are still moral people with values that align with most of my Christian ones. Are you saying that without the Ten Commandments, you’d have no idea that murder is wrong?
The Constitution is not in any way related to the Decalogue. Heck, most of the Commandments won’t even be found in the laws of the US… especially not the first three. We’re a country primarily made up of Christians, but we are not a “Christian” nation, nor is our legal system an implementation of religious theology.

“Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law.”
And I say again – you’re saying that you’d think murder was fine if you had never read the Decalogue?
“They want to take away our Constitutional Rights..they want to disarm Americans and take what they have..including their lives..that my friend is coveting..”
I don’t deny that there are people out there who want to rescind the second amendment. I do very much doubt it is due to “coveting.” They don’t want our guns – they simply don’t want anyone to have guns. The likelihood of the second amendment ever being repealed is one in a million, though. That’s about how much I worry about it happening.
“We need continual washing by the cleansing blood of Jesus..as I said..without Him..our righteousness is as filthy rags..”
Now you’ve moved far beyond your original idea that the Constitution is based upon the Decalogue. Please go back and provide some explanation for that idea.
The wages for sin is final death; those who sin and do not repent will not win eternal life. That has jack-all to do with someone being a good person or not. And your comments about murder still worry me. It sounds like you’re saying that the only thing stopping you from becoming a murderer is the Decalogue. Most people have a conscience first, then read the Bible later and go “Oh, well that would explain why I’ve always known murder was wrong: God said so!”

Jesus will come back at the end of the Tribulation, and he pretty much will be slaughtering anybody that tries to stand against him. That’s what the Battle of Armageddon is all about (unlike the upcoming War of the Latter Years where a lot of countries come up against Israel and God will take them out supernaturally). There will be rivers of blood at that point. Only thing is, Jesus doesn’t need a machine gun. All he has to do is say the word and you’re gone.

Yes, the final battle WILL be terrible, and, yes, Jesus WILL take out ALL who have aligned themselves with Evil, for those who follow Evil cannot share a life in Heaven with God Almighty and His believers. I don’t know how any clearer I can make it for you, but Jesus DOES love you, and He wants to make your next existence better than anything you could ever possibly imagine. All you need do is accept Him and repent your sins… the rest will come naturally. It’s just that easy! Posted on February 17, 2013 at 8:36pmMany who do not understand the spiritual reality of the world around us will certainly misinterpret and misunderstand the realities of the character of God. Many thinking atheists I have debated will at least conclude that if the God I speak of is real, they would be unable to impune His character as they would not have the foundation from which to judge since they do not study scriptures with the intent to understand Him. Interestingly, many like to pass a final judgement upon the character of God with partial and incomplete knowledge. Assuming wrongly what the concept of peace is to God and Christians ignoring the fact that Jesus himself said do not suppose I came to bring peace but a sword. Two against one, father against son and so on. The very responses in this thread proving my point and substantiating Jesus’ words. The fact is the nature of truth and therefore good and evil is to divide. Consistently the Bible depicts God and Christians at war with the spiritual forces of darkness. Calling others to the faith who would listen. However, there is a day set where no longer will grace and mercy be offered but only a fearful expectation of judgement with the final defeat of evil and all who practice evil. While I see the usual dismissal arguments, I never forget that it used to be me making those same hollow points to soothe my own conscience of the evil in my own heart. The points may change but the arguments always remain the same. Good day ANDYET and JERK…

Posted on February 17, 2013 at 10:14pmGod is loving, but he is also just. We ALL have done wrong in our lives and deserve punishment. God cannot allow people to bring their sin into Heaven; if he did, then it would no longer be the perfect place that it is.
Jesus took the punishment for our sins, but we all have a choice. Do we accept the fact that we are sinners, and accept Jesus’s forgiveness? Then we won’t be a part of Armageddon. Do we reject God? Then we might still be around to see it.
Armageddon will only come after a 7 year period of time where God will show his power. Nobody on this planet will be able to say that he is a “fairy tale” at that point because of the miracles that will take place during the Tribulation. ALL people fighting at Armegeddon against Jesus will be there because they HATE Jesus and want to try to destroy him and his people once and for all. They will be convinced by the Antichrist that they are more powerful than Jesus and they can finally get rid of him, but they will lose.
We are starting to see people who believe, but are blatantly rejecting Him. I’ve seen signs where people are asking Jesus to come pick up His trash. That shows me that the person a) must believe that there will be a rapture where Jesus comes to get his people, and that b) at the same time, they consider the Christians that Jesus will be coming to get nothing more than “trash”.

Posted on February 17, 2013 at 11:27pm@ JADEDFATE. Then my friend if you have never seen any you haven’t been looking. I have debated many atheists who readily admit there is a case to be made. For starters the three broad categories are bibliographical, internal, and external evidence. I will assume we can settle on the bibliographical portion since no sane person questions this line of evidence due to its overwhelming nature that surpasses all other works of antiquity combined. Archeology has discovered the following that used to be mocked. Jericho, the cities of the plains mentioned in genesis and evidence of Hebrews in ancient Egypt at the time of the exodus account. Internal evidence is enormous but when you consider 40 different authors written over 1600 years across 3 continents with a consistent and progressive theme all centered on the person and work of Christ there is a formidable case to be made. I used to be in your shoes, I was an atheist for years until I set out to honestly and objectively look at the evidence I had compiled, just as Lew Wallace and Lee Stroble before me. Of course these are not the only examples just a very small sampling. Check out the northern Sumerian texts that confirm different aspects of genesis discovered somewhat recently. Thank you…….

The_Jerk and people like him are all given a small glimmer of light, that they can use to either choose God’s path or choose another path. As they reject the light that they were given over and over and over again, their chances for repentance dwindle, sadly. Yet we all have a chance until we take our dying breaths.

Respectfully, I think your interpretation of Jesus’ second coming might not be in line with most Christians.
QUOTE:
“Jesus will come back at the end of the Tribulation, and he pretty much will be slaughtering anybody that tries to stand against him.”
Really?? I commend you for your reading of scripture, but I think Jesus “slaughtering” is a bit much. Read again whatever passage you are interpreting. Think about it in terms of every OTHER passage that either quotes Jesus or has someone (GOSPELS, ACTS, etc. ) talking about him.
The Bible comes to us as a WHOLE. For example, if you take something from Revelation and interpret it without understanding the rest, it is possible to read into it what is not there, or with error.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 2:16pmIt doesn’t matter if what I believe is the same as what everybody else believes. It’s in the Bible:
Revelation 14:19-20 ~ And the Angel thrust in his sharp sickle on the earth, and cut down the vines of the vineyard of the earth, and cast them into that great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
Revelation 19:15-16 (this is where Jesus comes back and puts a stop to the madness) ~ And out of his mouth went out a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the heathen: for he shall rule them with a rod of iron, for he it is that treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath upon his garment, and upon his thigh, a name written, THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Paraphrasing Rev. 19:17-21 ~ God called the birds to eat all of the people that were going to die. The beast, kings of earth, and a mighty army came to battle Jesus, but the beast and false Prophet were thrown into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Everyone that was left was slain with the sword of him that sits upon the horse (Jesus). The birds were filled with the flesh of those that were slain.
The sword that came out of Jesus’s mouth is generally thought of as the Sword of the Lord, or the word of God.
It seems clear that God is judging here. And I have read the entire Bible, so many times I have lost

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 4:28pmMany of the places mentioned in the Exodus did not exist within the same chronological period as one another. Pithom (Per‐Atum/Tckenu) and Raamses (Per‐Ramesses), the two “treasure cities” claimed to have been built by the Hebrews, never existed at the same time. Pithom did not exist as a significant settlement before the 26th Dynasty. Prior to this, the settlment was known as Tckenu, and was still referred to as such in the Ptolemaic period, and was an obscure garrison‐town which mainly, if not exclusively, served as a waystation for Egyptian expeditions. Even in its enlarged Roman state, the town barely registered on either Egyptian or Greco–Roman accounts.[9] Per‐Ramesses, the Royal Residence of the Ramessides was abandoned at the end of the New Kingdom, centuries earlier.[9]

Edom was not yet a nation. In fact, the region wasn’t even inhabited yet. The place the Hebrews stop at wasn’t even built until 800 BCE. However, the latest the Exodus could have occurred and still be biblically accurate is in the 13th century BCE.

Would you like him or respect him any more? If the answer is yes, then you hate Jews and are antisemitic. John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be DESTROYED but have everlasting life.
DESTROYED not live in eternal hell. How can one live in the grave which is what hell means.
Hell = Hebrew word sheol and the Greek word hades means the common grave of mankind.
Gehenna = Is everlasting destruction.
Many translations use the word hell for all three. Those would are not resurrected to everlasting life are destroyed.

Monotheism says you must ONLY worship the one TRUE God(laughable as that is). Our Constitution says you can worship any God you want.
Monotheism will punish you if you dare say or do anything negative against the faith and their God. Our Constitution allows for the freedom of speech and expression.
Monotheism can punish you just for simply thinking something. There is also only one judge, and in his courtroom, you are guilty until proven innocent. There are no appeals and there is no such guard against cruel and unusual punishment. He can punish you FOREVER for a finite crime.

Also, this country has a brutal history of slavery and oppression of women. This is the kind of country your God has “shown his grace to?”

Posted on February 17, 2013 at 9:10pmModerationisbest (sorry I have to chuckle everytime I read that name): Why are you comparing a democratic political entity with a Kingdom. On judgment day please don’t wave the Constitution in God’s face as a defense. The only defense against the wrath of God is the righteousness He himself provided. The only defense on judgment day will be “I have believed your promises. I am covered by the blood of Jesus. My name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” When Jesus was born, the angels said, “Glory to God in the Higest. Peace on earth, good will toward men!” The peace they were speaking of and the good will toward men is peace between God and men and God’s good will in sending His son for the sole purpose of giving a way to avoid judgment. The Holy Spirit says that God is not willing that any should perish. Nevertheless there is a place called Hell for those rebels who will not submit to the authority of the King. Surely you don’t want to be forced to spend eternity with such a terrible God you speak of and among the simpletons that believe in Him. By now you have heard enough of the gospel to choose who you will serve with your life. You cannot plead ignorance. My sincere advice is that you pray that God will have mercy and open up your spiritually blind eyes to the truth. He really does love you. Those of us who believe in Him want you to join us in His company for eternity. Read the entire book for yourself. Don’t bet your life on your rebellion

He is perfect in Himself and needs no other beings but Himself. Your worship or refusal to worship adds nothing to Him or takes nothing away from Him. He loves Himself because He is the highest good. He wants us to love Him for the same reason. What is there more worthy of love than perfect, infinite good. He loves you because He is merciful; your ability to openly blaspheme without immediate consequences is proof of that. You are right I am a willing slave and I desire to be a better slave to my Master because He is good and He does nothing in my life that does not have my good and His glory as an end. We are all slaves to something. To what are you a slave? “It may be the devil, or it may be the Lord, but you’re gonna have to serve somebody.” To be frank, what you say sounds like it could have been lifted right out of Milton’s poem “Paradise Lost.” “Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven” (Satan, Book I, ln 263).

So instead of actually replying to my arguments, you’re going to try to act gracious and say you will “not waste my time” pointing out why my comments were “illogical.” What an easy and disingenuous way of not having to make an argument for your side. Then again, it’s typical of religion to just claim stuff, without providing proof or argumentation.
“I mean there is never a story with a religious theme that you are not trouncing up and down the thread beating the “there is no god” drum.”
Well talk about creating a fallacious straw man argument. I’ve barely posted in the past few weeks because of my new schedule at work, and found some time today to post. So much for your “there is never a story with religious themes that you don’t post on.”
And what is with the “beating the there is no god drum.” I HARDLY ever say anything like that. Unlike religion, I don’t like to make specific claims that I am unable to prove. I do on occasion say that I don’t think a God exists(but I always admit that I could be wrong). Most of my responses here are related to the stupid comments I see in regards to the article and I rarely see anybody notice the times when I actually stick up for religion or a religious person. I know that religion has a confirmation bias and also selectively chooses what they do and don’t read and what they do and don’t follow.

What do you mean by “not striking you down?” In most forms of Christianity, I am already born worthy of an eternal torture. Are you saying that there haven’t been ruthless tyrants in the past who haven’t kept people they disagree with alive for some type of worse torture down the road?
Let’s all be honest here. If something were to happen to me and I were to pass away, there would undoubtedly be people on here who thought God smited me for speaking ill. While I can’t prove that statement to be true, it’s not much of a stretch is it.

That doesn’t mean that we don’t face the consequences of our first amendment rights though. If I start saying a bunch of hateful things about Italian people, then the consequence of that is that there will be a lot of people that don’t like me. We can choose our religion, but since we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, none of us will get into heaven without forgiveness, and that only comes through Jesus. The consequences of using your 1st amendment rights to worship a false god, or not have a god at all, is not having those sins forgiven.

Why do Christians always think that because someone doesn’t agree with them, that they haven’t done the studying?
I have read the Bible, Genesis through revelation. I went to an Evangelical church on and off for 3 years. After that time, I became disgusted with what I saw in the Bible and saw how big of a joke it was. My disgust has grown with how often I see this stuff peddled through our everyday discourse and you have religious zealots trying to turn this country into the next theocracy.
Again, you just admitted you’re a willing slave. Sorry but I don’t want any part of that.
@Brooke
“If I start saying a bunch of hateful things about Italian people, then the consequence of that is that there will be a lot of people that don’t like me.”
Well that’s a little disingenuous of you though right? I think having some people not liking you for your comments is a little different then……BURNING IN A LAKE OF FIRE FOR ETERNITY.
Seriously people, make a valid comparison To equate to not being liked to an eternity of punishment isn’t just disingenuous, it’s downright idiotic.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 3:03amModerationisbest: I haven’t seen anyone saying anything about turning any government into a theocracy. If anything it’s been just the opposite. The posts I’ve read on this article have clearly made the case that you have a choice.
If you insist you are a Bible student then I will take your word for it. Haven’t seen any of it in any of your posts, but OK. If you went to an “evangelical” church on and off for three years then I would guess either it was mainly “off,” or the teaching there was not good, or you were never looking for the truth in the first place. One thing comes through loud and clear. You are very bitter. I really don’t know why you waste your time with the whole matter. Why don’t you just put your Bible and church experience behind you and move on?

~~~
1 JOHN:4 1-3
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world”
Why does Mod has such a extreme skewed view of the word of God. ?
Because the spirit of Anti-Christ was his tutor .
Why cant Mod. just put his Bible experience behind him and move on..?
Since a slave isn’t greater than his master. Mod. is compelled by his masters will.
Mod’s desire is to destroy .Just like the one he unknowingly serves.
Mod couldn’t stop this desire ‘on his own’ if he tried to.
Mod is totally blinded and unknowingly follows Satan and does his bidding
He foolishly believes he’s secular.. In reality ,he’s a lowly soldier in Satan’s
war with God. Doing his part for Satan ,who is going to and fro seeking
whom he may devour.
Posted on February 18, 2013 at 4:43amI would agree that the consequences of not getting forgiveness, getting sent to hell for all eternity, are a LOT worse than the consequences would be if I badmouthed a group of people. Although one is much more intense, that doesn’t mean that the analogy isn’t valid.
You can choose to worship whatever god you wish. That’s the freedom of religion, which is part of the first amendment. I can choose to say whatever I wish too; that’s also part of the first amendment. Just because you don’t like the consequences doesn’t mean that you don’t have the choice. It seems to me (and I could be wrong) that if you have read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, that you are fully informed of the choice available to you and have decided that you don’t want to follow God for one reason or another. Still, that’s your choice to make. At least you have made an educated decision (although as long as you’re reading this, it’s never too late to change your mind ;-) ).
Posted on February 18, 2013 at 5:05amHootOwl/Brooke: I agree with you both. Your comments are much appreciated. Knowing myself as I do, I know that salvation is a great miracle a kin to the miracle of creation. If anything perhaps creating new creatures out of corrupt and sinful ones is even a greater miracle than making Adam out of dust. At least the dust did not resist. As Brooke says, as long as Mod is alive there is hope. I’ve prayed for Mod before. I prayed for Mod this evening. I think it would be a good idea if all the believers that frequent this site pray for Mod every time we encounter him. I pray Satan will be defeated and that somehow the Holy Spirit will get through to him so that he spends eternity rejoicing.
Posted on February 18, 2013 at 5:20amBrooke/Wittness. This is not Mods first rodeo .
Mod knows very well , the way to salvation, if he wants to repent.
The Two Bible verses that come to me the most when dealing with Mod.
‘Don’t cast your pearls before the swine’ .
And ‘Shake the dust from your feet’.
Posted on February 18, 2013 at 10:22amAnother Christian on here talking about slavery and how I am not “greater then the master.”
Pure sickening.
@Brooke
It’s a completely invalid comparison and you know it. It’s beneath everyone on this board to say that having some people not like you because you disparage Italians, is the exact same as receiving torture FOREVER for not “believing” in a supernatural being.
Yes, I’ve read the Bible and know what it says. Not only have I come to the conclusion that I don’t think there is a God, but if there was a God, and it was the God of your bible, then I still wouldn’t worship it. Your God is a petty, ruthless tyrant that throws a hissyfit throughout the entire OT. Your God then sends himself, as his son, and sacrifices himself to himself to create a loophole for a system that he created. I’m sorry but I’ll have none of that nonsense. I would never worship a being that created such an idiotic and immoral system. Also, what type of supernatural all knowing being, wants to be worshiped? Much less, forever. Your God seems very human to me.
Lastly, I am not afraid of any of the “consequences” much like you shouldn’t be afraid of the “consequences” if a Muslim were to come up to you and say that if you don’t believe in Allah you’ll go to hell. Would you lose any sleep if a Muslim presented you with that scenario?
Not really. In fact, I know that they consider me the infidel… I’ll even go a step farther. I know that at some point, there will be a group of people in charge of this world that will murder my physical body if I don’t conform to their demands to worship god in the way that they see fit… oh well, I’m not losing sleep over that either.
I’m also not really getting all worked up about it either. I may be misunderstanding your intent via the written word, but it seems as if you are almost angry over the fact that some people believe in a God that would send you to hell over your rejection of him. If you don’t believe, why the anger? I don’t really give a flying flip over the fact that Islamists believe that I’m an infidel.
Posted on February 17, 2013 at 6:08pmHow soon do we Christians get to call out for the death sentence for such an insult. I’m saddened by the number of people that can not forgive and live in anger. So many vindictive angry people mocking people who have forgiven and try to do better. Yes there is failure amoungst life, coruption happens, try to be better, shun those that embrace coruption-name names, don’t scapegoat the innocent.
Posted on February 18, 2013 at 4:53amVengeance is mine, says the Lord.
While the Tribulation is occurring, there will be people that have been murdered because of their love for God (perhaps some of them are reading this page today or are even posting on this thread). They will be in Heaven, looking down on what is going down on Earth… where all of the people are murdering the Christian converts alive at the time… and they will be asking “how long, oh Lord” until God will put a stop to it. God told them to wait until the right time (I’m paraphrasing Rev. 6:10-11). God knows what is going on. Justice will be served when all the books are opened and people are called to give an account of their actions in this life.
