Glenn Beck’s “Man in the Moon” event is still five months away, but the July 6 festivities intended to commemorate Independence Day are already attracting media attention.
Last week, TheBlaze provided key details about the coming stage event, noting that it will offer more than traditional fireworks and food. The effort extends beyond a single, celebratory event; it’s a three-day initiative, which will include educational components and opportunities to serve. Intended to recapture the holiday’s spirit and patriotism, “Man in the Moon” will provide families with the chance to coalesce to build a brighter future for America.
KUTV-TV recently sat down for an interview with Beck to speak further about the event. During the discussion, he detailed why he’s organizing the experience. With negativity continuously raging in America’s sociopolitical sphere, the radio and television host said he’s looking for opportunities to “build something positive.” He also noted that he’s become “disgusted” by the antics coming from both sides of the political aisle.
“It’s the same problem and it’s the same story. It’s just different faces. Either party. I’m bored with it. A better word than bored with it — I’m disgusted by it,” he said, later adding, “I could either sit back and home and say, ‘Well, I told them so. I’m going away.’ Or I could say, ‘Alright I’ve done my part on that. Now, let’s start to build something positive.’”

Beck teased the event, telling the outlet that attendees have not seen the history of America told in such a fashion before. From captivating story-telling to an unprecedented fireworks display, Beck promised a unique experience. In the end, the popular commentator believes that the event will inspire people to ask important questions of themselves.
“Hopefully, you’ll go to church the next day and you’ll say, ‘What is it I do believe?’ ‘Why am I going to church?’ — or ‘Why am I not going to church?’ — or ‘Why am I working the way I am?’ ‘Why am I not spending more time with my family?,’” he said.
Watch Beck describe the event in his KUTV-TV interview, below:
“Man in the Moon” will be held at the USANA Amphitheater in Salt Lake City, Utah. Tickets will be available this week on GlennBeck.com. Stay tuned, as additional event details will be published tomorrow on TheBlaze.com.

Feb. 20, 2013 at 3:27pm@JCLDWL…I am glad to hear that it is not just me. That is very true about him not providing any evidence of founders referring to Jesus Christ. I too believe that god put him in my husband and my life to open ourselves to god and Jesus Christ but there came a point when I also believe that god opened our eyes that Glenn Beck was no longer needed. We just started to not follow the direction that he is going and we cannot support it anymore. I am grateful that my eyes were opened to god and that I understand what is happening now to the country. I always knew something was wrong, but didn’t nderstand it until Glenn put it all together. Glenn was finally a voice out there saying all of the things that needed to be said. I really thought that he was going to help lead the country in the right direction and then some things he started doing just seemed off course and now they really seem to be. It was hard to come to accept that. Now I just believe in god that we can get the country back the way it should be. That is my hope.

More than any active Mormon knows about it and the secrets we try and hide (laughable). Oh brother…Good luck so out of curiosity what anti book got you hooked?

Feb. 18, 2013 at 6:58pmWonder if this event will pay homage to the 1,000 year living, Quaker style dressing moon men Joe Smith is said to have believed in. Who wants to bet the lds influence in this is overwhelming. maybe he will mix in some fake history to further confuse truth from what his church believes.

Glenn Beck has to focus more on improving his TV/Internet program before he holds another “feel good,” moonbeam event, don’t you think?

Feb. 18, 2013 at 3:15pmGlenn gains people’s implicit trust using spirituality and politics… then he convinces you that there’s a particular problem… finally he sells his product as the solution to said problem.
People rush to buy the product because they trust Glenn instead of God (or at least themselves). Glenn is a clever manipulator of people who wish to be handled.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 2:19pmIn order to build a brighter future for America why must the people always buy tickets to the events or pay for this or pay for that, which Glenn Beck offers when many of the people that Glenn Beck is supposed to be trying to get together to build the country are struggling and trying to survive through all of this. I do not understand why they are always pay into events. Why isn’t Glenn trying to build a brighter future for America by other means and not charging for it six different ways. I completely understand that he must make money, but really off the backs of the people he is supposed to be trying to do better for. This is why I cannot support any of this anymore. I don’t think it’s being done how it should be. The founders did not build the country on people paying to attend events or pay to watch programs or put out a market for things in several ways. They did it through real change….and no I am not a troll. I have been following him for along time and at one time I defended him completely and have opened up my eyes the same way I did with the country that something is not right.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 2:28pm“America’s Story Told Like Never Before” so what’s the surprise as GB always tells his own version of every story. And what is the confusion over the pricing of the events. You really don’t think this is about the money.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 2:39pmInformation and ideas are free. But Glenn wants the production because he is an entertainer. I got no problem with people paying into this thing for entertainment but when Glenn pitches it as some sort of renaissance, I get a little annoyed as well….How many times is he going to go through this – I know it is common thing with ADD folks but come on now.
I have been following/listening to Beck since 2004 and he has become incredibly predictable. Just like in 2007/2008 he trashed the constitutional libertarian candidate and was silent while the republican party nominated a moderate progressive. Both times he comes out as a “libertarian” after the election. This is a show. I tried to get tickets to his comedy tour a few years ago but was sold out – I am glad I did not go. There is so much good Glenn could have done and could be doing – but it seems he is operating in order to deceive/distract the people most able to turn this country around.

My wife and I followed him too. God (the one true living God) put him in our lives for a short period. To help us see we needed to get our lives back to God and His Son Jesus Christ. Now God has opened our eyes further and we see no more need for Glenn in our lives. In fact I question with boldness many of the things he seems to be doing now. I will never forget Restoring Honor and the spirit that was there. But this thing appears to be based on moon worship and he is planning to build a theme park with a sun worshiping phallic symbol right in the middle of it. I want nothing to do with the worshiping of false gods. Have you ever noticed that no matter how much he talks about the founding fathers and how deeply religious they were, he never presents any evidence of them referring to Jesus Christ. Just my open eyes seeing and speaking.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 4:43pmBeck’s “Mormon Show” last year got my attention, but the Utopian Society thing really bothers me. Very Mormon-esque and creepy. Beck’s utopian ideas mimic those of the “hippy commune people” of the 60′s.
Some of his work is still useful to me but not as much as before. Maybe I’m the loonie but I can’t support him monetarily as long as he has such ideas. He says it’s all “his” money going to those projects but where does he get “his” money? Besides, 10% of every dollar he makes goes to the Mormon Church. Support Beck and you support the Mormon Church. Considering how much as he is worth, that is a serious issue of conscience for me.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 1:44pmGood luck Glenn, it will take a population echoing Glenn, please don’t leave it for him to do?
We understand why some people do or do not go to Church, from high taxes, to the words of Jesus that say its better to hide in your prayer closet, then be seen among those who want to lead the Church but don’t know how to do it (paraphrase)?
What really bugs some people is that other people don’t have to explain themselves, because once they start doing so, they are not your peers, they are lab rats or zoo exhibits on the movie set “Planet of the Apes”?
Go ahead, give the public one reason, just one reason to ignore you or punish you for not doing something? Everyone is on a different time table, what you see, and what actually is going on, don’t always sync up, because it is not meant for you to know everything?
I’ve never seen more churches and church programs on TV, what is Glenn talking about? Is this about counting heads through the door, and donations, or about the body of Christ?

Feb. 20, 2013 at 3:33pmI agree with your reply to mine 100%…he should be doing things differently and could have done a lot. He had so many people that were with him. Now he is just losing so many and they will not trust him anymore. I also was very dissapointed with him after the elections just as you described. It’s just not right what he is doing.
