First there was the sonic-boom generating, window-breaking meteor in Russia. Shortly thereafter, a fireball streaked across California. And now — so as not to be left out on the flaming celestial rock action — Florida saw a fireball blaze across its night sky Sunday.
According to Local 10, the sighting occurred around 6:45 p.m., visible from Jacksonville to Miami. News 4 JAX reported calls coming into local Coast Guard offices starting around 7:30 p.m.

“It appeared to be some sort of firework at first glance, but there was a white streak in the air followed by some sort of…orange and green glow,” Terrell Forney with Local 10 said of this spotting of the fireball. “And it literally disappeared in about 2 or 3 seconds.”
Watch this CBS report with footage of the latest fireball:
The recent fireballs are actually rather common but conditions have to be just right for them to be visible, CBS 4 Miami reported an expert saying. Mike Hankey with the American Meteor Society said such meteors occur daily, coming from the asteroid belt. Hankey told CBS 4 the one spotted in southern Florida was most likely golf ball to soccer ball in size and probably fell into the ocean.
Check out this report from NBC Miami with footage from a viewer:
As for the meteor in Russia that on Friday injured about 1,200 people as it broke the windows of more than 4,000 buildings in Chelyabinsk, cleaning and repairs continued Monday.
The Chelyabinsk city administration said in a Sunday statement that nearly 60 percent of the city’s broken windows had been replaced.
Pieces of the meteor are believed to have fallen into an ice-covered lake about 80 kilometers (50 miles) outside the city, but no fragments have been reported found.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Feb. 19, 2013 at 2:18amSome people say this is related to a Approaching planet called Nibiru that passes Earth every
3000 years on an eliptical orbit.
They say we will be visited by tehm soon and the Planet will pass us in July.
They say these visitors can arrive before the planet does and leave after their planet passses which gives them a window of time to visit.
Some say this is why the Elite have built underground bunkers.
I don’t subscribe to these theories, although I most certainly do not rule them out.
I am curious to see if these hold true. All these meterors make me wonder if these theories were not so far off of some truths.
Also, where is Sendthemeteors?
Why that name? What do you know about meteors being sent into our atmosphere ?

Feb. 18, 2013 at 4:00pmThe unbelievers will say as most have on this blog that this happens all the time, but if you look at all the political discourse and religious discourse you can see a pattern that is foretold in the Bible. Unbelievers will have an answer to everything as foretold and repeated over an over. They just cannot believe that Jesus Christ will return and we don’t know the day or hour but should get prepared even if not in our lifetime. Educate your children so they are not lead down the wrong road. The road to Heaven is narrow and the other road is very broad.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 11:35amI like Michio Kaku even though he is a flaming liberal. He’s a smart guy, but he doesn’t seem to understand that a few million dollars is NOT “chump change”! We need to get over that mentality. However, I can’t believe that we don’t already have a telescope out in space. Why in the heck have we been spending billions on that stupid International Space Station??? What are they doing up there? Answers please!

Feb. 18, 2013 at 12:13pm1 Corinthians 11:10—Paul warns about the fallen angels which seduced the daughters of Adam- Genesis 1:1-7–that they’d be returning to earth to once again seduce. Could these “:fireballs” actually be those cool vehicles described in Ezekiel, transporting fallen angels and Satan himself to this earth to pose as Christ and cause ‘strong delusion” for those who love not the truth, but want to believe the lies?…….Watchmen-WATCH! Feb. 18, 2013 at 10:30am“These asteroids are caused by global warming”. Hey – thank you – my next show’s at ten in the Flamingo Lounge…
The Earth and galaxy are going to do what they do. And one solar storm at the right time and direction could cause harm to Earth. Also Earth is on a tilted axis which causes the climate to shift. Yet the tiny minded Liberal still flocks to Washington to beg Oby to stretch his arms out and ‘heal’ the earth with his divine wisdom over all that breath.
Could we be in for something? Maybe / maybe not. These events seem more to be the natural order of things. A large asteriod goes by very close to the Earth, and passed through the ‘asteriod belt’ during this. By natural physics, this asteriod possibly had ‘bumped’ one or more out of the ‘belt’ orbit, or more probable ‘dragged’ small ones out of their orbit while passing through. Very simple physics, and we just need to understand this and not be like those of the ancient days thinking the world is coming to an end.
I was just hoping the fireball might have been Air Force 1. Then folk singers could write songs, “The Day the Progressive Died”. “Bye bye Mr. Sweet Potato Pie….The chicken’s on the counter and it’s ready to fry….”

Feb. 18, 2013 at 9:41amIt is the vanity of man that believes they can change the course of history. This world will end in fire. I watched the video of the physicist regarding attaching a rocket to an asteroid that is about to hit the the earth. Feb. 18, 2013 at 9:52amI totally agree. It is time to get really serious about Christ and refuse lukewarm and apathetic religion and get our hearts on fire for him. These fireballs have been showing up all over the world. I am pretty sure that they precede an event that will usher fear into the hearts of man that do not know Him.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 10:15amThe vanity of man to think after all of the eons that have passed in universal history, that THESE are the end times. Groups in nearly every generation since Christ have been certain that the world will end on their watch. The truth is that you will die just like every anscestor before you has, and the world will go on just the same without you. Same for me. This is just our time to be here, but our time is fleeting and is not any more remarkable or special than the lifetimes of those who came before us.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 10:26amSorry guys. . . . but these meteors are nothing out of the ordinary JUST because you’re seeing a few more of them. Many enter over the ocean where no one sees them at all. The one over Russia was a relatively small one. The one over FL . . . even smaller. Unimpressive, to say the least.
If you want to use these instances as a reason to “get closer to your god”, then by all means, do so. But using them as a “scare tactic” [god is sending them to earth] to get others to change isn’t an actual truth.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 10:38amIt will happen when He decides it will happen. If the Lord wants to set into motion today the events that lead to the end of the world, nothing can stop it. On the other hand, if He wants to hold off for another thousand years, that’s His choice, and all the alarmist cries won’t change it. Either way, He still says, “be ready”. Even if the end of the world is a thousand years away, He still might come for you or me today.

It is quite common for these asteroids when then near large bodies like our sun or Jupiter to break apart. After they break up, some of the broken pieces fall to Earth within a short amount of time but not at the same time.

The Republican party has lost its soul through compromise. Every time a politician hands out another entitlement check it turns a decent hard-working person into an evil voting leech.
