Guess the Ending: Trio of Suspected Armed Robbers Tries ‘Violently’ Breaking Into Home of Dad and His 2-Year-Old Son and…
A father protecting his home and his 2-year-old son opened fire on a trio of suspected armed robbers in Virginia on Sunday killing two of them. The third man escaped and is still at large.
The local sheriff’s department in Prince Edward, VA, says it all unfolded around 4:30am when the three men busted down the door of the man’s home. The homeowner told authorities the men were armed and he exchanged fire with them, killing two of the suspects and sending a third running. A K-9 unit tracked that suspect, but his trail went cold and deputies believe he was picked up by a vehicle.
Local station WWBT-TV says the trio entered the home “violently” and has footage from the scene. A blurred image suggests one of the suspects died on the front lawn:
NBC12.com – Richmond, VA News, Weather, Traffic
The father and the child were not harmed.
The story is in stark contrast to another that gained attention last week in Miami, FL. There, two men broke into a family home in an apparent attempted robbery and held a man’s wife at gunpoint. When they tried to enter the room of the couple’s 11-year-old daughter, he jumped up and fought back. That’s when he was shot and died.
So far, no reports have suggested the dad in the latest incident in Virginia will be charged in the deaths of the suspects. The Virginia State Police, which is assisting in the investigation, did not immediately return a request for comment by TheBlaze.
“From the way it looks, he (the homeowner) was defending himself,” Prince Edward County Sheriff Wesley Reed said.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 10:35amthe police’s job now is to determine if the homeowner did his “due diligence” in warning the suspects before shooting, whether he has a permit for the gun. Depending on what county he lives in he might be held liable if the gun wasn’t in a safe prior to removing it to protect himself. LAWS LAWS, too many made to protect the guilty. Common sense is out the window. “From the way it loos, he was defending himself.” DOn’t think I want to be in his shoes.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 11:28amShame on this man for using his gun to frighten criminals that had broken into his home. He used his gun as an offensive weapon as described by that whacko left coast chief of police. The criminals on the other hand used their weapons defensively, as they never expected to counter the home owner using his gun as a power trip. And now we have two, poor, dead criminals who will never again be able to help other home owners learn to use their guns in the California style. What a shame.

Enough of this crap. You know damn well you are trying to infer the man must have been involved in some form of crime such as drug dealing for the motivation of the break in. Was the man who died protecting His daughter also a drug dealer? Why is this the very first thing you have to say without any inside information? Has it never occurred to you this mindset of yours is feeding this collapse into Hell once called a great nation? Has it never occurred to you there are evil violent murderous thieves out there looking for easy targets and accepting smaller returns in their theft and murder spree in exchange for their perceived sense of safety? If they use a gun to engage in crime murder is part of their M.O., else why the deadly weapon? They pick a trailer because it is easy to break into, obviously a less well financed target meaning less likely to defend themselves, and whatever small items they can grab to fence later could only be part of their hoped for gain. They could have cased the house, seen the wife if she exists, rape and murder could also been part of their goal. Other possible motives exist such as being Farrakhan worshipers trying to get a head start on the revolution. You sure as hell do not know, so stop with the Monday morning presuppositions of evil against the innocent victims.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 2:41pmThis indecent is exactly why we need a National Registration Database. Here we have two people murdered again by a handgun. The home owner used an assault weapon in an irresponsible manner and one supposed suspect had to return fire in a defensive manner. After murdering two individuals he used the weapon to scare and intimidate the third. There is also a body of a man outside his home. The home owner murdered another man as he tried to run away. The story headline does not mention why three men were in the house. The home owner set these three people up by trying to sell them drugs when the home owner really only wanted to hold them up for money. The deal went bad and the home owner starts shooting. This guy endangered his child. His child needs taken away from him as he has proven a danger to people living in his house. Hopefully the Police can meet up with the man that got away from the homeowner to get down the real story.

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.
That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 9:31amThank God this father or his son were not hurt, these creeps want to break into people’s homes for free drug money, etc, let them take the judgement they got. What would have happened if this father had not been armed, he and his son would most likely be dead. We must never give up your second amendment rights, then only criminals and government tyranny will prevail over most lawful citizens!

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 9:41amOk it is more than blatantly obvious that jonathan, billy or beckett are going to feature at least one report a week on the use of hopefully a legally obtained weapon to combat the flood of violent criminals who will only be stopped when we figure out how to get guns int he hands of kindergarten students and their teachers. So there really is no reason for you to perpetuate the absurd myth that anyone is proposing the elimination of gun ownership or the confiscation of guns. 100% background checks and 100% gun registration is not an infringement on the 2nd amendment and it is ridiculous that it hasn’t been the law for 40 years.

They are banning magazines over seven rounds. Do you not see a problem when faced with three thugs or do you prefer the ARMED thugs have the upper hand? I know you cannot stand it when fellow democrats are, as you would believe “murdered by a gun nut” because they are the true disenfranchised victims and have no choice but to rob folks.

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 12:39pmAfter you defend your family, you remove the 30 round magazine and put in the 7 round clip. Don’t forget to have 2 rounds in those. If the police ask how you managed to fire 26 rounds, just tell them you reloaded several times. They believed Oswald was the only shooter, why wouldn’t they believe you?

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 1:50pmJROOK,
Since even the liberals admit that these measures won’t stop the mass shootings, it is safe to assume that the only reason to want 100% registration is eventual confiscation. Since criminals don’t get guns through private sales, and buying guns through a dealer requires a background check, the only ones hurt are private citizens. Who is saved by this 100% background check? NO ONE!!!

First there a number of Democrat lawmakers who have been proposing total ban on guns. Second as the most smartest police chief in the SF area just said, guns are not a defensive weapon only an offensive weapon. Please explain how this father used his gun in an offensive manner. Also do you get paid by the post or by the word?

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 5:13pm@JROOK: If You are really this confident in your Pres. and what most Americans believe is the wrong direction on this issue, PUT YOUR ADDRESS up for all to see, and pray that you don’t wind up the PREY of someone with ill intentions. Lib’s always act tough when it’s someone else’s skin in the game, that’s why so much is being said about all the “Talk Tough” Pol’s with their armed body guards. It’s all just rhetoric until your staring down the wrong end of someone else’s gun barrel. As a great philosopher once wrote: “If you don’t like the way I’m living, just leave this long haired country boy alone”.
