Mexican lawmakers will ask the U.S. Senate to create a registry of all commercialized firearms in border states, which includes California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Mexico says it will make it easier to trace guns used in violent attacks.
The measure was reportedly approved on January 9 by Mexico’s Permanent Commission, a government entity that meets when Mexico’s Senate and the Chamber of Deputies is in recess. Gun owners in Arizona are calling the proposal “foolish” and an “invasion of privacy.”
Watch KPHO-TV’s report below:
A number of the gun owners interviewed by KPHO-TV also referenced the Obama administration’s disastrous gun-running operation known as “Fast and Furious.”
The operation, conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), allowed illegal straw buyers to walk across the border with nearly 2,000 firearms, including semi-automatic rifles. The weapons ultimately ended up in the hands of Mexican drug cartel members and were used in a number of crimes, including murders and kidnappings.
Further, a gun from Fast and Furious was found at the murder scene of U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry in December of 2010.
Democrats in Congress have been calling for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and universal background checks for all firearms sales, some even calling for a national gun registry. Further, Democrats in Missouri and California have proposed bills that would result in the possible confiscation of semi-automatic rifles.
TheBlaze has reached out to several members of the U.S. Senate and will update this story as new information becomes available.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 6:31pmI want to know what Mexico has on the U.S.
This country encourages and assists its cast offs to illegally enter our country, live off the taxpayers, and operates more consulates within our country than any other. Condoleeza Rice and GWB stand side by side with Vicente Fox ridiculing former military (Minutemen) for guarding our border; we destroy the lives of border patrol agents for performing their jobs while rewarding the Mexican illegals who violate our laws with either green cards or multi-million dollar settlements; both governments have allowed illegal aliens to murder/kill over 25,000 Americans and commit over one million sexual assaults; and, Mexicans, here illegally, march through our tax paid streets demanding rights to which they are not entitled nor deserve.
Either our government must be charged with treason or Mexico must be sanctioned to the point whereby all foreign aid is terminated, borders sealed, and every illegal alien purged from this country and returned, en masse, to Mexico.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 6:14pmThe final cogs are being put in to place for the Mexico border to be taken down – period. Oby tackled gun ban by means of “Individual State Control” and we are too stupid to see the big picture of this happening. Oby has the State Senators in place and the gun bills had been drawn up a long long time ago. The Admin. simply waited for the perfect moment (second term). Now, we all think “things will be OK, truth will guide us”. Well the truth is that Oby’s Admin. is openly showing their intent to overthrow America as we know it, and you can bet the farm that Oby WILL comply to Mexico’s wishes. This is not for ‘gun tracking’. This is purely to inform Mexico exactly where the gun owners are, when all hell breaks loose.
Oby’s got a huge agenda in the take over of America. So you will be seeing gun confiscation and open borders very soon. Oby knew all eyes will be focused on Washington over this gun ban. So he had the individual State bans in place prior to saying a word to the public. The man and his choosen Admin. are liars and think we’re fools. This is why they are being so open about their intent. Mexico and America will be united as one much sooner than you think. He’s got to get this done very quicly (like everything he does) so the American citizens don’t have time to react. This is the reason why I say “They have won, we just don’t know it yet”. You WILL see Oby in a third term.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 6:06pmIt will come down to this choice, die with a gun in your hand now, or die with your hands tied behind your back later. With a gun you have a fighting chance, that keeps the gun grabbers awake at night. Friends don’t disarm friends.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 5:36pmOur illusion of freedom is just that, an illusion.
We are given just enough socalled freedom to allow us to be functioning, tax providing good little cows. If you pen up cows to tightly they tend to injure themselves, costing the farmer more money out of the profits.
Governments have found that communism does not work either because in the end, you end up with a whole lot of dead tax slaves and thats no good for the farmers oops I mean the government. So, they look to us the tax payer I mean the cow that gives the milk to treat us with just enough freedom to allow us to flourish a bit.
Problem with this is that it can be a dangerous double edge proposition for the farmer, whos human assets can tend to figure out what the scheme is and rise up and demand more and more freedom, at some point this becomes untenable and thus in walks the propaganda arm of the farmer elites to convince us cash cows (citizens) that its in our best interests to give up some freedoms for some security in our pens (communities). Thus the gun control movement.
We are no longer nations if we truly ever were to these people, we are farms and on them is us. We are kept to provide an endless stream of revenue to the farmers so they can pay the banks. Its that simple.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 5:26pmWhile the Feds are at it, they can give a list to Canada too. In fact, let’s not limit it to border states, give the full list to every country. When they see that list, after they clean their crap from their pants, they can take a seat in the front of the bus.

Feb. 18, 2013 at 5:13pmunless they mean to repatriate stolen firearms carried across the border and confiscated by the police this request makes zero sense, beyond offering a groundless support for the Administration’s push to control guns…
All that a bullet offers is match to barrel/ firing pin… that does NOT indicate what the serial number of the firearm was. Moreover, if an American ‘registered’ firearm existed and was used in a crime, that would not be proof it was the gun owner’s fault/ responsibility… at least here… with the Napoleonic legal system of Mexico, that might not be true.
If the Government gives ANY consideration based upon this ‘request’ from a nation providing its citizens with pamphlets to aid in their illegal incursion into the United States, those advocating on behalf of Mexico should be fired…
But then, anyone considering a gun registry should be fired at the next election. Sorry O’Reilly, but you are WRONG WRONG WRONG on this one.
While the government has undoubtedly kept track of my firearms purchases through the background checks, the idea of a registry for every firearm is fraught with the potential for abuse… by newspapers, as well as politicians.

BACKGROUND CHECKS to make sure that guns are issued to nut-cases taking mind-altering drugs? Fine..but you silly sob-sisters who want to know why semi-automatic rifles are required now? Check the gun action S. of the Border. PS anyone who still goes down there for a Vacation must have rocks in their heads. They’ve gotten the LAST of my $$$.
