Another Colorado Dem Offers Advice on Gun-Free Self Defense: Use the Buddy System

It appears Colorado Democrats have some peculiar notions about guns and self-defense.

For instance, while legislators debated last Friday whether to ban conceal carry permits on college campuses, Democrat Congressman Paul Rosenthal suggested that the “buddy system” is a perfectly acceptable alternative to carrying a firearm.

He also said students could learn judo or buy pepper spray. Watch the video via Revealing Politics:

And then there’s Democrat Congressman Joe Salazar who said last week that campuses should ban guns because some women have itchy trigger fingers.

“It’s why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, it’s why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at,” he said.

“And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble and when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop — pop a round at somebody,” he added.

Seriously, Colorado, what’s going on over there?

  Who cares about Gabby Giffords? And I have a better gun-free defense solution: How about local politicians stop deploying police agencies to collect fines and fees from otherwise law-abiding citizens and actually deploy the police to dangerous and/or high risk areas like college campuses, etc.

The hoi palloi have caught on that the police are only used by the pukes in charge to supplement the city coffers which are then raided by a plethora of legal grafts (aka public programs) which siphon funds off to the public officials’ in-laws who just coincidentally happen to run NGOs, public school catering companies, etc. And we have also caught wise to the fact that the local press which REFUSES to cover these CRIMINAL misappropriation of funds also just happen to golf at all the same clubs these public officials golf; and send their kids to all the same schools these public officials send their kids; and live in all the same neighborhoods these public officials live…

  Colorado, especially Colorado Springs, is notorious for being a, “Good Ole Boy’s Society.” If male liberal lawmakers had their way, all females would be barefoot and pregnant. The campus of UCCS is not well lit and is prime real estate for potential victims, as is Colorado College which is downtown. About 15 years ago, a Ft. Carson soldier was kicked to death while several bystanders stood by and witnessed the entire incident with no one intervening. The 4th Judicial District is known as the, Filthy 4th” due to the corruption on the bench. The best move I ever made after spending almost 20 years in that oppressive state was to pack up my kids and move. Salazar and the other morons, you can keep YOUR whistle, YOUR judo lessons, YOUR call boxes…and my daughters and I will keep our AR-15′s. You won’t see, “Easy Target” stamped on our foreheads. :)

I guess since the progressives are moving for gun confiscation here in Missouri I should expect legal marijuana to rear it’s ugly head soon as well as gay marriage.   I will never live in Colorado again. Love the snow and skiing, but voting for Obama a second term was just stupid. Never heard such idiocy in my life. Carry a whistle? Don’t-cha think some teacher at Sandy Hook was carrying a whistle that day? Worked out real well. Furthermore, why are they attacking issues that are non –issues? This debate was sparked over a mass shooting by a lunatic crazy person. Are 18-yr-old coeds lunatics? Well, maybe some are. But we can’t just assume EVERYONE is crazy, even if it just saves one person’s life it is not worth it. If it saves 1000 lives, it isn’t worth it. In the end we are talking about total gun confiscation and that leads to slavery and genocide. Anyone who is for gun control and does not believe such things can happen here are dangerously gullible: to the point that they are a danger to themselves as well as others.

Is the buddy system, whistles and c**p the new system to battle against mass shootings in schools and other places. How would this buddy system have worked out for the kids at Sandy Hook?

So far I’m getting: If a gunman comes into your classroom, hold up a book, blow a whistle, find a buddy and maybe yell out “STRANGER-DANGER”.

Now where are the feminists when you don’t want a girl to be carrying a gun, because her rapist might not have evil intentions. Ooh, Ooh! I get it, “Assault With a Friendly Weapon.”

  Maybe I can help shed light on this liberalism epidemic. I am a conservative, I’ve been one since 1992. I’ve smoked marijuana among other things but my ideology did not change. I remember Clinton policies and the state of the country under both bushes, but my belief in conservatism was unaffected. I’ve lived through Obama for the past 4+years and still, I’m standing strong by my conservative values. I have a family and My wife and I make a very nice income. We have three residences, one each in Alabama, New York and Berlin so I’m affected by a wide range of liberal and conservative policies. To answer your question, my conservative values are now deemed liberal but they haven’t changed at all. I like less government, but I would never suggest no government. I have always appreciated what government tries to do, I question how well they are doing it. I don’t hate welfare–do you hate feeding the hungry and helping the needy? I just wish it was more efficient and less corrupt. I like individual responsibility but I don’t ignore the reality that opportunity is lacking for a great proportion of our country. I have always thought that this was a problem for churches and private organizations, but they haven’t done much. Do you think government should ignore inner city youths who lacks parents and are surrounded by violence? Do they really have a chance?

  Should felons and the mentally ill be allowed to carry guns? The 2nd amendment isn’t really clear about that…but none of the amendments are really clear in every situation. That probably explains why the amendments are interpreted and applied in ways to be practical.
  So, if you arm your wife and daughter without getting the proper licenses, I would say that you aren’t a responsible gun owner. Probably because, when they got caught illegally carrying, they would become felons. As felons, they would never be able to legally carry guns and protect themselves. Your irresponsible behavior would leave your family unprotected and that would make most people question your mental stability…What was my first question?

So when one of these fools has a wife, daughter, sister, etc., face a rapist and the “Safe Zone” or “Buddy System” fails, I trust they’ll reaffirm their belief system and tell the family member – “It could have been worse, you could’ve had an evil gun and scared him off”.

  These are the morons that the liberal hippie California rejects elect from Boulder and Denver. My part of the state all we can do is shake our head and pray for our state. The liberal idiots in Denver really think that creating gun free zones make them safe, that is why Holmes picked that theater. The same goes for conceal carry, they keep denying law abiding citizens the right to conceal carry, and yet the thugs just ignore that little law. Here down in the Springs, we have a very good Sherriff who will issue any law abiding citizen a permit. And guess what, or crime is way down, while Denver’s crime rate is climbing. Huh, go figure, but then again, all those California transplants, that is what they want, a little taste of home, and they are getting it.
