Gay Man Clashes With Fiery Preacher on NYC Subway: ‘I’m a Good Man and I’m a Gay Man — and Jesus Loves Me!’

Street preachers are relatively common in New York City. But when these individuals take their messages from outdoors to the confines of subway cars, patrons sometimes get agitated. After all, many of these pastors, while well-intentioned, yell their sermons and force their ideals upon patrons. In response, weary riders tend to ignore the displays, rolling their eyes or tuning the preachers out entirely.

In a video that was uploaded to YouTube a few days ago, though, one patron decided to speak up after a man preaching on the subway took aim at homosexuality.

“What the hell are you teaching our children that two men that lay together and have sex,” the preacher can be heard saying in a video captured by a cell phone. “What are you teaching the younger generation?”

As he continued, some spoke out against his message, calling him “full of hate,” “ignorant,” “scared” and “bad,” however he was dissuaded from stopping. In addition to claiming that singer Michael Jackson “died, because he was gay,” the man spoke about anatomy and his views on same-sex relationships.

“You can’t put to men together,” he continued. “Men don’t got no breasts.”

One of the patrons listening to these messages simply couldn’t take the diatribe any longer. He jumped out of his seat, faced the preacher and said, “I’m a man and I’m a good man — and I’m a gay man and Jesus loves me.” He continued, repeating the line that Christ loves him at least two additional times.

The preacher responded fervently. As the two continued to clash, the self-described gay man called the preacher a “false prophet.”

“Jesus is love,” he said, getting a round of applause from those on the train.

Rangerskippy, you make all the right points. I felt the compassion in your statement. It does not have to be my belief I defend, it is about defending the word of God. It is not about homosexuality, but about our arrogance in saying, I know better than God, I was made to have sex with men, although we know woman was made for man. Its about the tearing down of the family, as man cannot have babies. If every one was homosexual, the family would soon fade.
If is important to remember that God gave man a king, divorce, ten commandments, but did not take away the from the judgement on homosexuality. (I put the 10 commandments because we were supposed to have a personal relation with God where God taught us.)
I am so sorry, but I must defend the Word of God because it is the foundation the gives me life’s purpose and justifies my living.
I did not create my life and cannot find a justification for it except my relationship with God, and it is so joyous, I cannot deny it.

Searcher619 as I recall, Jesus requested that we go out to the naions to spread the word. Christ loves all of us. However, His love and His mercy will not cheat eternal justice. Christ has stated that He will not save man in their sins, but from their sins. He will not save one engaged in sin, but he will forgive one who has gone through the proper repentence to eliminate said sin from his/her life (or one who is truly making an effort to do so).

Jehovah, Christ’s pre-mortal name, made it clear to Moses what God’s position is on unnatural affection. It is an abomination. Christ later made it a point that sin can come through thought and not just action. A man can be guilty of adultery in his heart. Still later, Paul, an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ groups unnatural affection (homosexuality) with murderers and adulterers.

We all have our own weaknesses to overcome. However, it is one thing to do something wrong while acknowledging that it is wrong and quite another to do something that is wrong that you have convinced yourself is right. Such is the case with homosexuality. It is unnatural and no amount of science can prove otherwise. Nature promotes life. Nature promotes the family unit as intended by God. Homosexuality ends a gene pool. Homosexuality creates no family unit.

Although Christ stated that their are two great laws, the only way man can prove that he loves God is by keeping His commandments (if ye love me, keep my commandments). Love without obedience is hypocracy and will never save.

Jesus DOES love him, and all of us. He came and saved us while we were in our sin. still, he hates the sin and we need to stop. that means all of us. we won’t be perfect, only Jesus is perfect, but we need to do our best.

The homosexual is correct that Jesus loves all sinners and died to pay for those sins but Jesus will not hear your prayers or accept you in the living in something our Father calls an abomination or will any practicing homosexuals ever see God’s heaven.

Christ loves adulterers, child molesters, thieves, liars…He loves all of us. So the gay guy was right in that respect. But that does not mean Christ accepts his immoral behavior and will accept him into his presence after the gay man’s inevitable physical death. ESPECIALLY when the gay man knowingly commits sin and refuses to stop his immoral behavior. Christ taught us to bridle our passions and to do good.
The Bible tells us to judge and it says it often enough that when someone suggest that we aren’t supposed to be disgusted by flagrant in your face sodomites and condemn the behavior, we know they are simply fools.

I can love the person, but hate the sin! Jesus does.. yes, Jesus loves you, he died for you, but he expects all of us to fight the very things that are sins. Read your scriptures dude, it says NO where that God created man to be with man or woman to be with a woman, it does say He created man and from man he took a rib and created a woman.. to go forth and replenish the earth. Remember Sodom and Gommorah.. and those men who were searching out men.. do you remember what happened to them.. If you profess to know so much about Christ..then you should know why he died for you.. he does expect you to fight against the sins we commit. Remember the harlot who was found sinning.. what did Christ say. “Go and sin no more” He also said, “you who have not sinned cast the first stone”!

the Gospel is clear. God has put all sin on His Son Jesus Christ and salvation is a gift of God. Its is NOT BASED ON PERFORMANCE. But His GRACE. He is NOT imputing sin to us. Now with that said. We are to walk holy with God and if we sin (whether homosexuality or lust, or fornication whatever) Rom 6:16 makes it clear what happens. We make ourselves slave to that sin and to Satan and can open ourselves to the destructive results of that sin. But God doesn’t stop loving us nor turn himself from us. Its called GRACE. Christians use the Old testament to express a New Testament Revelation.

Why did Jesus say to the woman caught in Adultery. Go an sin no more.What it to say His love and forgiveness was conditional? No He had already forgiven her. It was so she would not find herself bound to the sin which so easily snares us and we become slaves to Satan!

The word Gospel means: TO GOOD TO BE TRUE NEWS! We are forgiven of ALL SIN by Jesus’ sacrifice but we can become slaves to sin if we continue in it But that doesn’t change God Grace in Christ through us who call on Him to save US

First, I’d like to say, while this so-called “preacher” is telling the truth(as far as what the Bible has to say about homosexuality, he is wrong in the way he is going about it. First and foremost, he is only angering the gays and those who support the gay lifestyle. It doesn’t affect those who believe he’s telling the truth… it only affects those who don’t believe he’s telling the truth, and those folks have already chosen their belief system… he’s not going to change the way they think or feel about that lifestyle. BUT, like Ranger said… there is no doubt that, taking your “feelings” out of the equation, if you truly analyze the lifestyle itself, it totally destroys the “family”. It’s hard enough to find a wholesome, God-fearing, loving family in this nation anymore. If you’re a Bible-believer at all, II Tim. 3 starts the ball rolling on mankind in this end-time. Throw the gay lifestyle into the mix and you have an absolute cess pool, which God CANNOT abide with… for he IS love and truth, and he can’t abide with sin.   LOTS of people THINK they’re “obeying the Lord”, but… I could show you a MULTITUDE of people who go to church at least once, and sometimes twice a week, who really are basically good people, but… every one of them has found a way to “reason” around at least HALF of the 10 Commandments. Tell me you keep God’s 4th Commandment, and I’ll shut up. Oh, and if you think Sunday is the 7th day of the week, think again. Oh, and if you’re one of those who “reasons” that it’s okay to keep whatever day you choose as long as you choose one, think again. Oh, and if you’re one of those who believes Saturday is the 7th day and therefore the Sabbath, BUT… you still go to church on Sunday, or believe Sunday is ‘the day of worship’, think again… I could go on and on and on here. Until each and every one of the 10 Commandments is kept AS they’re supposed to be kept, and mankind repents of their many sins, Satan will have his time to unleash much fury on mankind, all because he knows he has but a short-time before Christ returns, but too, because Satan knows man’s “potential”… and hates you and wants to destroy you. Because mankind continues to “reason” and do what is right in his own eye, vs. what God says to do or not do, then… there’ll be no ‘obedience’ and therefore no ‘blessings’… just a great deal of cursings from God in these latter days.

  For me, . . . the phrase “obey the lord” doesn’t transfer into reality. What I see are words, written by men [claimed by others to be 'the words of god'], that were written in a completely different culture and era from what we currently live in. What I see [by such words] is, “these people made a claim of the supernatural that therefore must be followed without evidentiary support that there even WAS a deity that demanded it”.
  
  Just wanting to put it into perspective. Now, . . . by default, I may “obey ancient laws”, . . . but only because I choose to do so anyway. Not out of duty to an ancient culture’s mandates, or “a deity”. There are other rules/laws that they had that I would never follow, nor would [or do] most christians. Different time. JESUS DID SPEAK of ACCEPTABLE relationships – PERVERTS JUST IGNORE IT:

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

JESUS just said that God the Father made them MALE AND FEMALE in the case of HUMANS for the purpose that they should enter into BLOOD COVENANT MARRIAGE – nothing else was understood by anyone there to be “ALSO ACCEPTABLE” and was certainly NOT even IMPLIED by Jesus, even if the topic was “DIVORCE”.

PROOF is in the fact that promiscuity and easy divorce and SEPARATING CHILDREN from their PARENTS are all ALSO on Josef Stalin’s Agenda for the Destruction of America – along with PLANK #26 – promotion of homosexuality – something Josef Stalin himself eradicated upon HINT without TRAIL.

  There is just one problem with all these scriptures… many may BELIEVE there is a God, a creator of the universe and all that is in it, but… they do not BELIEVE Him. Until people wise up, repent of their sins and start keeping God’s laws… and I do mean every one of them… then, the problems of our day will continue. God is going to allow great punishment to come upon the people very soon… I sure pray he counts me worthy to escape those times. Scary times are coming, folks!

I’m not trying to be provocative, I’m just curious…how do people resolve the contradictions that exist when using scripture as a guide to interpret the morality of modern behavior. For example, if you believe that the bible condemns homosexuality, why not also believe that slave ownership, or punishment for not caring for your crops is also a sin? If anything, the bible is more more explicit with things like marrying your brother’s wife, than it is about men having sex with men, yet I have never heard someone expressing indignation when someone failed to marry his brother’s widow. I’m not asking this antagonistically, I would really like to understand how the contradiction gets resolved. If you feel the urge to get aggressive, or call me names, please create a separate post.

  You are only doing a partial Scriptural search. The time and place for a man to marry his brother’s widow was inside the GOD Theocracy, for purposes of raising up children to the HOUSE of the Brother. Once that Age was passed, there is a passage that drops most “management” req2uirements of the THEOCRACY. But His few commands about homosexuality are that it is an UNCLEAN ABOMINATION of the FLESH – which they all understood to be NOT SO SLIGHT as you imply – as it was a MAJOR PART and is today, of MOST Idolatry.
  God drove HIS point home with Sodom and Gomorrah and the ISSUE is thereby SETTLED. Just as Numbers 16 settled all issues of His choice of MOSES as the Leader of the Israelites.
  NOTHING HAS REVERSED THAT OVER-COVERING STATEMENT.
  
  NO ONE ASKED Jesus for permission to commit homosexuality, because they had SODOM AND GOMORRAH for a MEMORIAL to the answer.
  NO SMALL THING TO THEM, who still had enemies still worshipping Molech and other fire gods, that the ANSWER to what amounted to WORSHIP OF THE FIRE GOD – that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE.
  
  And no small thing today that Venereal Disease also burns up the bodies of those who practice it, today.
  And all that decent, civilized behavior that homosexuals promised – 30-40 years ago when they wanted out of the closet HAS NEVER BEEN FORTHCOMING.

  The “laws” are written in our hearts. Thats why we have guilt when we do something wrong. But Jesus came to fullfill the law. There is a difference between jewish laws and modern day Christianity. Back then they had the seculars too..but now we are overrun with the secular law. For instance in our laws a woman can kill her baby before it is born. Back then only heathen pagans did that.

  I appreciate those responses. My reading of the Sodom and Gomorrah story (at least in Hebrew, as I grew up reading it), led me to different conclusions. I never had the impression that G-d destroyed the cities because of any single act, or single sin. Pulling out homosexuality seems very arbitrary in the collection of sins that the Sodomites were guilty of committing.

Homosexual person has every right to decide what to do with their life. Even God grants that. But neither God, nor the Constitution grant the right to FREEDOM FROM CONSEQUENCES of CHOICES AND ACTIONS.

There are not that many people that the Bible said God actually hated. But HE also didn’t say that “HIS LOVE is what takes a person to Heaven. MANY will go to Hell that God Loves.
The issue of Entrance into Heaven concerns whether those people Love the Lord their God and OBEY Him., Whether they ask Him to forgive their sins, and if they REPENT of their SINS, AS CALLED SINS BY HIM, and not by HUMAN definition.
I have no doubt God loves both of those men. If the Preacher is being HALF OBEDIENT to God, he is NOT obeying God to study the issues he feels called to preach about. He should stick to what the Bible says is wrong. It is that they worship FLESH above worship of the Living God. They worship Molech and Be-elzebub. Not Jehovah an
