Humboldt County Sheriff Department’s Public Information Officer Lt. Steve Knight told the Huffington Post the bounty found with a search warrant on property in Garberville, Calif., was “one of the largest hauls that we’ve ever seen.”

When you take a look at the list below and you’ll see why.

  • 111 guns, including a MG 42 caliber WWII Machine gun with a full belt of ammunition
  • Ballistic vests
  • Tactical holsters
  • Ammo, magazines
  • 117 pounds of marijuana
  • 42 grams hashish
  • 4 grams of methamphetamine
  • 40 vehicles
  • A tractor
  • A trailer
  • All-terrain vehicles
  • Chainsaws
  • Concrete cutter
  • Air compressor
  • $12,000 cash
  • Jewelry

All this bounty — some of which was stolen goods — was found on 30-year-old Ryan Floyd’s 55-acre property. Some of it was found in what the Huffington Post described as a “pirate cave” (yes, an actual cave) for hiding the items.

Law enforcement first became interested in Floyd earlier this month when they tried to pull him over for driving erratically without a rear license plate, the sheriff’s press release stated. Police were forced to chase Floyd when he didn’t stop the vehicle. He eventually drove the pick-up truck off-road down a hill and crashed into a tree. When police reached the truck,, which was later identified as stolen from a vacationing family whose home was burglarized as well, it was empty of its driver.

On Feb. 7, the police obtained a search warrant for Floyd’s residence where they found a majority of the stash. Floyd was arrested and a second man on the property, Gregory Benson, was taken into custody as well. When deputies and investigators returned on Feb. 12, they found another woman on the property, Deanna McDonald, but she was released to care for her small children. More items were found on the 12th as well.

The weapons cache Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Downey told KIEM TV was enough to man a small militia.

“There were so many guns they were too heavy to pull out,” Downey said.

KIEM TV reported Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Gomes saying this stash is one of the largest they’ve ever uncovered.

According to the sheriff’s press release, the guns included a SKS, Colt AR-15’s, sawed off shotguns with pistol grips, a fully automatic, loaded machine gun, and Tech Nine assault weapons. KIEM TV reported Downey saying he thinks Floyd intended to sell the weapons for those seeking out illegal firearms.

Downey also revealed to NBC News that he has had experience with the Floyd family and the property in the past:

Downey said he encountered Floyd’s father Wally, now deceased, multiple times on the sprawling property about a decade ago on drug and theft charges.

“This is a piece of property I had been to numerous times surrounding the same type of criminal activity,” Downey said.

Watch this report:

Authorities are still trying to determine what items were stolen. Thus far, at least 20 of the guns were reported stolen as well as at least one of the cars, jewelry, the UTV Kabota Tractor, chainsaws, concrete cutter and the air compressor.

According to ABC Local, Floyd has seven felony drug and weapons charges but more could be added. He is still in police custody with bail set at $400,000. A third person, Honey Walsh, 29, is being sought for the case as well.

Maybe he was preparing for a third term, and with the jewelry wanted to look good for it.

If he had only thought to put up sign declaring that his property was an islamic mosque, the police would not have been able to raid it.

At least THEY’RE checking for stolen firearms – no doubt the MG-42 was stolen from a collection.

To the contrary, the LOW LIFES running the Los Angeles PD AID and ABET criminal activity with their sanctioned criminal activity, called “guns for cash”. No questions asked – so if you turn in a stolen weapon – no questions asked. Are they returned to the owner? Every time I’ve asked, I get the run-around and never a direct yes or no. I stopped going for fear of becoming an all-too familiar face.

Committed a murder with the gun yesterday? Get cash for it – no questions asked. The despicable Mayor (so self-centered that he changed his legal name from Villar to Villaraigosa, incorporating his wife’s name before cheating on her), and the scoundrels at the city council (to include a couple of communists and a former police chief) all approve of this, and always seek to reap all the media attention possible, because, of course, the media doesn’t ask the pertinent questions.

Ha my neck of the woods. I’m sending this to Diane Feinsteing to prover to her that criminals steal weapons and sell to other criminals. Strange ot see the shriffs I have met and Downey on the Blaze.
I have to believe there are bigger arsenals out here because of the level of illegal drugs and just how rural it is.
They haven’t raided the known Mexican cartels who own land up here. They’d probably find half the Fast and Furious weaponry and yet, AND YET the government wants to LIMIT my right to protect myself. Pathetic!

Notice no picture of the drugs…. just guns. Do you think the police will make any effort to return these guns to the owners they were stolen from? heh.

This is not a weapons story….its a drug story. Most weapons do not look too impressive….maybe he was planning on running his own “Fast and Furious” op?

I’m sure there is more to the story that’s being told. They probably knew he had some guns and was looking to find a way to take them. How much you wanna bet they don’t all get melted down and / or returned to the rightful owners if they are stolen? some of those officers are probably calling “DIBS” on the ones they want LOL.

I think its convenient all the stolen guns were conveniently packed in matching cases, while the guns look like the typical junk turned in at a gun buyback event. Most of it is probably inoperable, especially the MG42. This is not the weaponry of a well regulated modern militia. This is the kind of junk you trade to mexicans for weed.

All we have heard is one side of the story. Do not make conclusions based on what the media in this country reports. You know, I heard that you have guns on your property. They were found after police received a tip from a concerned neighbor and a search warrant was issued. It was said that many of them were fully automatic and some were stolen. Also it is well known that a large stash of drugs were found in that raid along with child pornography After interviewing some of the townsfolk (asked to stay anonymous) there that it has been a well known fact that you often go off on anti-American rants and are a known drug and gun nut in this area. Police confirmed that they have had problems in the past with your siblings and father What? You say the guns were left to you by your father who brought them home after WWII. What do you mean you only have one sister and the only trouble she was in was failing to stop at a red light 20 years ago? You expect me to believe that the police came to your house and warned your father about his dog barking after a neighbor complained back in the eighties? And the drugs was just expired Sudafed cold tablets in the medicine cabinet? Your kidding Right? The child porn is only the books belonging to your six year old daughter? Yeah Right? Terrorist rants are just comments on The Blaze too, right? Pal you are not only a pathetic drug induced illegal gun hoarding pedophile, you are pathological liar. They should lock you up forever.

If it hadn’t been stolen goods and drugs, would they have still confiscated it all? Note to all preppers: make sure you get your stuff legally without breaking any laws. That said, do we know all the laws? Probably not.
