No, your eyes aren’t fooling you. The picture above really does show UConn women’s head basketball Geno Auriemma patting (or using a “slap” as would later be described) the behind of Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey before Monday night’s game. And if you thought that was odd, wait until you hear the explanation.

Here’s his explanation via local media:

“She was staring at my butt and she was commenting on it and I said, ‘Really? How about yours?’ and she went, `Yeah, look at it,’ and I went (slap), I’ll teach you a lesson,’’ Auriemma said, jokingly. `And then she started talking about how she only dated Italians her whole life and that she wanted me to set her up with some Italians and I said `The Italians I send to see you aren’t going to date you.’ We’ve had a long and great relationship since, gosh, she was an assistant at Louisiana Tech. It goes back a long ways.

“She’s just a big pain in the butt. That’s all there is to it.’’

Yahoo described it as one of the most bizarre photos of the year:

AP photographer Jessica Hill captured a shot of UConn coach Geno Auriemma patting Baylor coach Kim Mulkey on the backside before the start of the Bears’ impressive 76-70 road victory. Everything about the photo is memorable, from Mulkey’s stance, to Auriemma’s laser focus, to the giggling assistant coaches in the background.

Baylor won the game, by the way.

Well, it’s pretty clear the coach will be looking for a new job. How can UCONN allow something like this, I mean this is just terrible, a pat ont the ****. But, it’s sad that something like this even makes the news, honestly, who cares, there was no harm or foul, nobody got hurt and it seems like these two adult coaches were just being a little playful with each other. But, I’m sure, by the end of the day this will be a major evnt and will require the Obama Administration to step in and through an executive oreder ban **** slapping at a public event.

Anyone notice their ages?

It’s important. Because they come from another time.

It’s friendly fun.

It’s not that stink-eye’d ‘stranger-danger’ politcally correct sanctimony that passes for manners and decorum today.

They’re two people who have fun working together, who don’t take themselves too seriously.

We used to have a world like this.

We used to have teachers that duct-taped kids to their desks because they wouldn’t stop squirming around. And at the teacher’s funeral, decades later, all those kids, me included, showed up in hundreds and missed her, because we deserved it and she was a hell of a woman.

She would be fired today.

Now the foot-stamping, PC nazis, have made just having some fun, a nightmare.

Look at how Yahoo classifies this picture. The most bizarre picture of the year.

I call it “The Most Refreshing Picture of the Year.”

Little baby steps.

This all contributes to this PC mindset.

We are decending into an Orwellian, Kafkaesque nightmare.
