New NRA Ad Targets Obama, Clinton Gun Comments With Fiery Civics Reminder: ‘They Don’t Rule Us. They Don’t Give Us Rights’
The National Rifle Association (NRA) is continuing its push-back against recent gun control proposals. In a new ad called “We are America,” the organization takes aim at controversial comments made by President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton. Using quotes from both politicians, the organization’s new video lambastes perceived assaults on the Second Amendment.
After sharing quotes from Clinton and Obama that seemingly denigrate gun owners, the NRA ad goes on to make some bold proclamations, calling the aforementioned comments arrogant and encouraging Americans to stand up and defend their right to bear arms. Additionally, the voice-over delivers a fiery “reminder” to the nation’s leaders.

They don’t make us free. We’re free already. And as long as we have the Second Amendment, we always will be.”

In a recent closed-door speech to donors, politicians and media, Bill Clinton spoke about American gun owners: “A lot of these people … all they’ve got is their hunting and their fishing.” “Or they’ve been listening to this stuff for so long that they believe it all.” And we all remember Barack Obama’s 2008 comments to a room of San Francisco elites: “It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion.” The arrogance of their superiority requires this reminder: They don’t rule us. They don’t give us rights. We grant them power. They don’t make us safe. We pay to protect them. They don’t make us free. We’re free already. And as long as we have the Second Amendment, we always will be. We are America and our politicians are only as powerful as we, the people allow them to be.
Clearly the NRA’s message here is that politicians like Obama and Clinton should be reminded that they work for the American people and that comments deriding gun owners are not acceptable. The organization maintains that rhetoric coming from these men, among other leaders, is an attempt to marginalize law-abiding citizens.

I am concerned because the US governemnet is now blatantly and unashamedly, even proudly, acting as though the Constitution and its embedded philosophies regarding the role of goverenment viv-a-vis the people is now obsolete. Government is armed to the teeth, while citizens are told to surrender their pop guns. The president flies 3000 miles at the expense of the citizen to play golf and eat burgers. The citizen on the way to Walmart to buy adulterated food with devalued dollars burns $4/gal gas stalled at the road block while the presidential motorcade, lights and sirens fully deployed, passes by on its way to the golf course. The full cost of this round of golf will be on the order of $5 million. There is an ever growing list of politically incorrect words you must not use without risking fine, imprisonment or both. Homeland Security grows while the Army, Navy and Air Force shrink. You had better not become ill or get old. So you may as well die for a cause many others before you have–if you get my drift.

Both sides need to be voted out and start over, it is too much of a good ole boys club and have set their selves as gods. While I am at it, we can fix the budget crisis by adding a ten-cent tax to toilet paper then every @ss whole would have to pay their fair share. Just out of DC alone the budget could be in the black in about a week or two.

Criminals do not submit to background checks and as usual, us law abiding citizens are punished for the shooter who is on antidepressants or the shootings by street gangs. We just want to live in peace and have the ability to stop an attack. With the continued printing/forgery of our US Dollar, the chance of crippling inflation is high. More than ever before, Americans need to be able to protect themselves and their families. The Democrats suggest a pair of scissors against an armed intruder. They also suggest a women can blow a whistle to prevent a rape. The entire puke/slime Democrat party along with the pathological liar president needs to be stopped. Their background check legislation leads to a national registry which is a precursor to tyrannical gun confiscation. Thank you NRA. Outstanding message!
