‘Presumptuous Paternalism’: Michelle Malkin Rips ‘Radical Gun-Grabbers’ for Trying to Disarm American Women

In a scathing column on Townhall.com, conservative firebrand Michelle Malkin went after the “radical gun-grabbers” on the left who seem to want to leave American women with nothing but “whistles, pens and bodily fluids to defend themselves against violent attackers.”

Earlier this week, Colorado Democrats argued against allowing women to carry concealed handguns on college campuses. Their arguments were deemed extremely questionable and have been the subject of mockery.

Malkin provides a recap:

Condescending Democratic Rep. Joe Salazar of Colorado asserted that young women can’t be trusted to assess threatening situations at their colleges or universities: “It’s why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, it’s why we have the whistles,” Salazar said during floor debate. “Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around, or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be…”

Colorado Sen. Jessie Ulibarri, another elitist Democrat, argued that instead of firing back at a crazed gunman, innocent victims would be better off using “ballpoint pens” to stab him when he stops to reload. Colorado Rep. Paul Rosenthal, another Democrat, told women to rely on the “buddy system” instead. And on Tuesday, after personally lobbying Colorado Democrats to restrict self-defense options, Vice President Joe Biden blithely dismissed a woman’s concerns about family security. He advised her, “You don’t need an AR-15″ — even though it is the long arm of choice of three million law-abiding citizens, half of whom are veterans, law enforcement officers or both.

The presumptuous paternalism of gun-grabbing male Democrats is not confined to the political arena. On college campuses across the country, the literal disarming of women is standard operating procedure. At the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, officials advise women that “passive resistance may be your best defense.” The school’s recommendation to girls: “Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating.”

If that fails, it’s time to deploy other assault bodily fluids! No joke. UCCS seriously advises potential victims: “Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone.”

Malkin’s website Twitchy.com also found that the State University of New York at Plattsburgh also advises women to use “passive resistance” to thwart an attack as it might be a woman’s “best defense.” Malkin said colleges and universities have become nothing but “coddle industries.”

“Where are the War on Women warriors of the left when you need them? Paging Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria, Sandra Fluke and every indignant feminist who (rightly) took Todd ‘legitimate rape’ Akin to task — as I did — last fall,” Malkin writes. “The sexist stance of gun-grabbers goes far beyond Akin-esque junk science about magical wombs that can prevent pregnancy. The idea that women can’t be trusted to know when they are at risk takes direct aim at their very sovereignty and security.”

“It’s anti-self-determination. It’s anti-freedom. It’s anti-choice,” she concluded.

Malkin is right. The dems, however, are not just waging war on women, they are waging war on the nation as a whole. These communists azzoles think they know our lives and our needs better than we do. They want to control our very being. Screw’em. They will not take our guns and they will not convince women that threatening to pee on a rapist is as affective as pulling a gun and shooting the fool.

  We value human life. We believe as a child develops in the womb, it deserves continued life. We do not murder like you Liberals like to murder. You’d murder your mother’s and fathers if you’d could get away with it. We don’t support Planned Parenthood because they purposely target blacks and Hispanics for abortions. We don’t want any baby aborted regardless of skin color. However, you Liberals view them as damaged goods, so you abort them.

Now that the votes have been successfully corralled, “Women’s rights” has dropped to number 3, while “Firearms Prohibition” has shot to number 1. “Blame the Republicans” stays steady in the number 2 position, since it’s a reliable catch-all for all kinds of liberal shortcomings and ailments. “Global warming” has dropped out of the top 5 (it’s winter, after all) but it will make a comeback after a seasonal hiatus. Emerging at number 4 is “Be a patriot, stop sequestration, save American jobs from the evil Republicans” (see liberal priority number 2…)

  You CLEARLY have ZERO concept of what constitutes a threat to a woman in a day-to-day situation—> creepy predator men who outweigh them on average by 30-80 (or more) pounds.   I don’t have to be careful. I am absolutely, completely unashamed to say that I am undecided on whether women should be allowed in combat or not. There are many pros and cons to either argument. It is the gravity of the negative consequences that I am torn over. I don’t like either choice and I don’t like to be in a position where I can’t stand behind my convictions 100%.
  
  I do, however believe that the Second Amendment applies to all. And that no one is so great that they should tell another that their life is not valued enough to defend it in any way they feel necessary.

Someone who talks like that is a stupid sob and I’d tell him face to face if I had the opportunity. That attitude is disgusting and sexist to say a woman isn’t capable of defending herself. If your views align with that idiot Salazar you really shouldn’t be walking around in public unsupervised.

Malkin keep up the good work and keep hammering those candy@ss statists,hopefully we can reduce their infection in our government all across the country and get people who have some common sense in government.

Now they want women to be helpless and dependent on the Govt.
