Beck Talks Gun Control With Columbine Survivor Who Wrote Scathing Letter to Obama (Plus: Bill O’Reilly Weighs In)
Evan Todd, a Columbine survivor who released a powerful letter to President Obama against gun control earlier this week, appeared on Glenn Beck’s television program Thursday to elaborate on his letter and discuss what prompted it.
After introducing his guest, Beck asked Todd what he was feeling during the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.
“It was like living it all over again, the same feelings as [the day] Columbine happened,” Todd, who was shot during the school massacre, said. “The fear, not knowing what’s going to happen, helplessness, and just watching it unfold and knowing that there will be innocent lives that are killed…”
He explained how he was asked by the shooters why they shouldn’t finish him off, and how he replied that he’d been kind to them and everyone else in the school.
But Todd was left asking the same question that Beck says has been nagging him: how could somebody do this?
“It was evident that it came from our culture and what is put out there,” Todd said. “Everything from the video games to even abortion plays a huge subconscious factor in the value of human life.”
After Beck noted that Todd is a brave man to assert those points, the two discussed President Obama’s stated solutions.
“Point by point, the initiatives that Obama put forward clearly hinders the average American citizen from protecting themselves,” Todd asserted.
“It makes it harder to get a gun, it makes it more expensive to get a gun, the magazine limits…at the same time, it enables criminals on the other side,” he added.
Watch the entire interview, which also includes Todd’s explanation for why he didn’t tackle the shooters with a pen like Colorado state Rep. Joe Salazar suggests women do with rapists, below:
Beck proceeded to discuss gun control and the apparent devaluing of human life with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.
When Beck asked O’Reilly what he thinks the Obama administration’s “end game” is on gun control, O’Reilly said he doesn’t mind state laws that target the problem, but is opposed to a federal overhaul.
The two jokingly bantered about whether President Obama will be done at two terms, and whether by the end of it the administration will have rounded up all the guns from law-abiding citizens, before turning to the issue of human life.
In New York, O’Reilly said Governor Andrew Cuomo is “barbaric.”
“They want to legalize late-term abortion for any reason,” he said, claiming that a migraine headache or hangnail is sufficient justification, and that a nurse practitioner can sign off on it.
“[But] it’s not about Andrew Cuomo,” he continued, “it’s us. We’re turning into barbarians [as] Americans. We don’t care.”
“It’s going to take a disaster now, economically probably, to turn people away from their narcissism,” O’Reilly concluded. “It’s not that they’re bad people, they’re apathetic, they don’t care.”

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 9:44amThis administration is consistent, I’ll give them that much . . . if they can’t outlaw something outright they make it so cost prohibitive that you HAVE to give up something else in exchange . . how many of us are willing to give up food so that we can afford to put gas in our cars, how many of us are willing to give up food / gas so that we can afford to buy ammunition to protect our families ? He who has control of the money you spend and how you can spend it . . . has control of you . . . I see how some might look at this and say . . . “it’s called sacrifice” . . .. sure, to a certain extent . . when my wife lost her job we gave up vacations and the occasional eating out (if you call pizza eating out) . . . elected officials love to govern by THEIR golden rule “DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO”

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 9:29amThere is simply no enumerated powers granted to the govt to legislate gun laws of any kind whatso ever PERIOD. And all effort to ban guns or legislate upon them is simply a usurpation, a crime, and a violation of the public trust, worthy of jail time, deportation if applicable, loss of citizenship, being bared from public office for ever. If your a cop and you’ve ever enforced gun laws shame on you.

God has no place in public schools, just like guns. Its time to out law gun nuts and name the NRA what it is, a terrorist supporting organization.

It’s people like you that are holding massive rage in your head. You will break one day and cause something that you will regret. Possible even filling tiny caskets! Hiding behind the keyboard is one thing, but it is usually CSs like you that get frustrated because no one listens to your nonsense and you act on it. You are filled with hate. Posted on February 22, 2013 at 8:30amShaping a hidden agenda?
The government is wasting no time in attempting to redesign the intent of the Second Amendment. Recent briefing by various members of the administration at the highest levels are stressing that the new regulations are not aimed at depriving citizens of their right to own firearms in their homes for protection. This sleight of hand easily goes unnoticed by many in the general population who buy into the thought that home protection was the fundamental reason for the Second Amendment. This was not the case. The Framers of our Constitution were brilliant political scientists. They were in a death struggle with political tyranny and controlling it was their single most purpose. Once they had a firm grasp of this danger they intended to ensure that this country’s citizen would always have the means to protect itself from the excesses of government. The entire Bill of Rights is dedicated to that end.
The straw man arguments of home defense, personal defense, hunting, targeting shooting are all distractions from the original intent.
On the heels of the story that Homeland Security was creating its own defense force 2009 Nobel Peace Prize nominee Jim Garrow shockingly claims he was told by a top military veteran that the Obama administration’s “litmus test” for new military leaders is whether or not they will obey an order to fire on U.S. citizens.
This would easily be overlooked and not garner much importance if it wasn’t coupled with the fact

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 5:18amBefore I pulled my head out of my **** politically and started actually doing the research and reading, I used to think Bill O’Reilly was a big deal and important to catch every night.
Now after my awakening, the Bill O’Reilly Show is about as important to watch as American Idol (useless crap). And O’Reilly himself? Shockingly inept and uninformed. He serves ZERO pupose in the political word, and for when he tries to be entertaining, quick frankly, he’s really not; he wasn’t even when I enjoyed his show. Sure the curt comments to viewer mail were amusing, but not really that much, and it was ego strocking central. Not the kind of aggrevious ego stroking Michael Savage does, but still bad.
His show could be cancelled, or he retires, and it wouldn’t even e a blip on my radar. I wouldn’t care at all. In fact, it would annoy me, ‘cuse them that means intervews on Beck radio show and TV hour, taking up important time that could be spent learning something or keeping up-to-date.
And remember, The Blaze reported a week ago that O’Reilly said on Letterman’s show that he’s for gun registration. have a new name for O’Reilly: Bill O’Chamberlain. Play nice with th marxis quasi dictator — maybe he’ll go easy on you after he takes the guns. Maybe he’ll even sign a piece of paper promising it for you, Billy boy.
When Beck says again he talked to “Communist friend”, I’ll now have to pause and think if he meant Bill O’Reilly.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 9:28pmHere is a question.. when the generation that used to watch the so called ” violent” cartoons, which are not at all realistic, and which are all nearly removed from regular TV, did they grow up an do these things? Were there any of these type of shooting rampages in the 60′s, 70″, 80′s..I don’t remember things like this until the 90′s. That’s when the children born in the 70′s + were growing up, when the PC liberal agenda was getting into full swing in schools, when God was removed from schools, and the perversion of culture on TV.
I think Bill is getting soft in the head with age. HE doesn’t mind them passing laws that they “Believe” will help?? Believe? How bout we look at historical facts and do cultural comparisons as to the the rot cause. with some facts and evidence and NOT infringe on our 2nd?
Again, Beck asks ” what do you think the end game is?” Bil says, ” to control gun crime” That’s rather vague isn’t it? Who gets to determine when it’s under control? Liberals?
As is in “the border is “more” secure” means what?
ugh, were doomed!
God bless this guy.. he survived the shooting and survived liberalism

I suspect when SHTF, those is power are going to be cowering in the shadows when the citizens decide to hold them accountable for their greed, their illegal actions and the bloodshed those actions have caused.
I doubt if all the armies of the world would be able to stop justice from happening.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 8:07pmThe govt caters to the criminals so that they can make their case for “protecting us”. What a load of CRAP. Someone asked me why anyone would need an AK-47 and I replied,”so I can be as well armed as the bad guys”. Gun laws have NEVER stopped a criminal. The statistics tell the truth,as the number of guns owned in the USA has increased crime rates have fallen. The cities and or states with the strictest gun control laws have the highest violent crime rates in the country. One word,”Chicago”. Need I say more?

But that is what is happening and has been for years. He is right about one thing though. It’s gonna take a total economic collapse before enough people wake up. Or a national disaster or civil war.Too many people just don’t care. That’s how Obama got elected twice. Too may people didn’t do their homework. A University of Arizona or local police spokesman said she did just the right thing, to scream and run as he pursued her. He added: a woman can also kick, bite or use her fingernails to defend herself against rape. It was said with knowing authority and comforting approval as the most right way for a woman to defend herself.
