If There Is One Incredible Ping Pong Video You Watch Today, It Better Be This One

If you’re a fan of the summer Olympics, you might have gained a fascination with watching not-so-mainstream sports. And one of the most mesmerizing is table tennis, or ping pong. If you’ve ever watched one of the lengthy volleys or acrobatic shots and been drawn in, prepared to be amazed: you’re about to see one of the most incredible shots you’ll see in a while.

It happened over the weekend at the ITTF Kuwait Open and is starting to take the Internet by storm. And while the behind-the-back shot by Quentin Robinot is amazing, the best part might the reaction of his opponent, Kiryl Barabanov. After raising his arms in disbelief, Barabanov eventually gave Robinot credit:

Robinot went on to win the match, which seems appropriate.

  I can’t set every slam on the table, hell, I can’t put every shot on the table, the trick is to make the shot when it counts. He had no chance to make a shot other than the way he did, and he did it.

  I am not impressed with CGI tricks. Bruce Lee was dead by the time this was made. CGI is amazing but nun-chuks would have destroyed a ping-pong ball.

I agree this is a pretty amazing return, but I would have to say not as uncommon as you would be lead to believe.

I’m nowhere near the caliper of a championship player, but I have played for many years, and have seen many amazing returns.

Go to youtube and type it in, I guarantee you will see shots during tournaments that will make this one look like childs play.

I’m not knocking this guys ability, he didn’t reach his level by being an average player, just saying this is an ordinary event in the world of ping pong.

The last I knew Ping Pong was a registered trademark and should be spelled with capital initial letters. Table tennis is the generic name for the game.

It’s too bad news organizations don’t hire educated staff.
