Rush Limbaugh: ‘For the First Time in My Life I Am Ashamed of My Country’
“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country,” Rush Limbaugh said Thursday. “To be watching all of this, to have my intelligence – all of us – to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being, is — it just makes me ashamed.”
The conservative radio host’s ire was the result of the sequester, the looming federal spending cuts set to automatically go into effect at the end of this month unless Congress and the White House can reach a deal. He called it “deja vu all over again” and ripped President Barack Obama for keeping himself above the fray and painting himself as a Washington outsider “even though it was his idea.”
“Here we get worked up over $44 billion – that’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year,” Limbaugh said. “And in truth we’re going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We’re just not going to spend as much as projected. It’s all baseline budgeting. There is no real cut below a baseline of zero. There just isn’t. And yet here they come, sucking us in, roping us in. Panic here. Fear there. Crisis. Destruction. No meat inspection. No cops. No teachers. No firefighters. No air traffic control.
“I’m sorry, my days of getting roped into all of this are over. We have the media play along with all of this, the ruling class – both parties – play along with all of this,” he continued. “It’s insulting. I don’t know how else to describe it.”

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 3:35pmDon’t be too ashamed, it’s all our faults as well. We didn’t go out and do what was necessary to not make it happen. (and to appease Ghost, I’m using the generic royal ‘we’ so if you actually did go out and work your **** off for Romney, you are excused.)
There is no credible 3rd party, so we really had a choice to make and we all knew we couldn’t work with the current President, he doesn’t represent anything near what we believe in. Romney wasn’t perfect, but at least we could’ve worked with him, and especially if he saw that our help got him elected. He would’ve been a stepping stone to better candidates in the future.
Instead, we are where we are, fighting useless, stupid battles over sequestration, gun control, and Obamacare. We should be debating debt, getting a budget, responsibility, morality and ethics.
I’m with Rush, I’m ashamed, but not at my country, at myself for not doing more.

Don’t need a whole lot of voter fraud, just what it takes–in the right places. What do people think– voter fraud is visible? They’d do it in such a way as we’d all see it? But apparently it is “stupid” to consider this subject. No chance to stop it the next time around. It is definitely not PC to worry about it in order to try to prevent it. God wants it to happen, I guess.
Just google (or whatever) “hagel voting machines” and Hagel’s favor with the pres. takes on a whole new meaning. But don’t look for a story on that here…. TABOO.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 3:45pmWhy be ashamed for the Conservatives who did not vote? It is more shameful that Conservatives had so few options to vote for in the first place.
Even more shameful than that was to watch the Republican party eat its own, which it continues to do. The new Rove Super PAC? That is just an organization that will allow Rove and the establishment Republicans to do what they would do anyway.
Whatever you may think of the comments made by Todd Akin, it was Rove and the Republican establishment, including Ann Coulter, Reince Preibus and all the way up to the candidate for POTUS, Mitt Romney, who threw hand grenades into the fire. They tried to strongarm Akin out of the race, subverting the will of the Missouri Republicans who nominated him. They then defunded his campaign, and attacked him mercilessly in the media – and we all know how much the media loves to report on Repubs attacking Repubs…
They figured out too late that Akin was still one of their best shots to pick up seats in the Senate. What they still have not figured out is that this is why so many Conservatives stayed home. Personally, I still voted, but there was sure no Romney sticker on my car. This Republican party that Rove is trying to fashion is sick, and one I will not support.

Here in Ohio there is a woman in Hamilton County -a polling official- who has admitted to voting no less than six times; twice under her own name and at least four times using absentee ballots in the names of others. And she defends her claim -on TV- as defending “Mr. Obama’s RIGHT to be in the White House.” And it looks like no one is going to do anything about her or the 18 others in Hamilton County alone suspected or KNOWN to have committed voter fraud.

It’s fine that your conscience wouldn’t let you vote for Romney, but since he was a valid candidate from the only significant opposition party that would actually LISTEN to you (or at least have a passing shot at listening) you might want to consider the reality of a two party system.
I didn’t like John McCain at all but anyone who did any research on Barack Obama knew in minutes that he was the opposite of almost every value a conservative held. McCain had a horrible track record and to this day I hold him fully responsible for the McCain-Feingold debacle. That didn’t stop me voting for him for President because I knew nobody else had a shot and at least we could rattle McCain’s cage and get some cast off’s. We were going to get nothing from Obama, as it turned out, it was worse than predicted. We’ve fully gone backwards.
So, please, vote your conscience but if you know for a fact your candidate doesn’t have shot at winning, then don’t gripe about things when the guy you really don’t like wins election over one you might have been able to actually influence.

Agree but worst of all is lib dems refusing voter ID and being part in fraud. Not one republican vote in a heavily populated Ohio county? Theft of our right to choose who governs us. I am convinced the illegal votes far outweighed the lack of conservative votes. The election was stolen. So was the one in 92. This fraud is destroying America and it is criminal to be against voter ID. Blocked by the very criminals against it for obvious reasons. If crooks through law can keep you from doing an inventory they can rob you till hell freezes over without fear of repercussions.
I have no doubt the awareness of this by millions kept them from voting because they figured their vote will be stolen anyway and they know they are helpless to stop it. Apathy is easy when you know you no longer count and there is nothing you can do about it.

When I stand before God and Jesus, I will say that I voted based on conviction of who the best person for the job was, not what “the majority” said, or what a party said. This is why Romney did not get the conservative votes like those in 2008. He is not conservative and does not follow in line with my conviction. You don’t like that, it’s fine, however, I will not be swayed by a corrupt system anymore.

If Romney had been elected yes the Republicans would have won, but the Country would not. Did you miss the part of the debate where they where patting each other on the back, and stating I agree with you, no I agree with you. The majority of Republican candidates these days are either Rhinos or spineless, so why would I root for them over the bigger evil? There is only one truth, and I will not compromise the fate of my Country in the sense that I help destroy her. I will simply stand on the side lines and wait until either the Republicans gain their testicular fortitude, or a third party steps in to do the Right thing. If we are not fortunate enough to have that occur then I will be here to rebuild her when they all bring her down. There is no other alternative, a Revolution would be pointless seeing as how the majority of American’s would turn right back around and elect the same A’holes within a matter of days. At this point the best thing we can hope for is a total crash that wipes out the leaches, so true American’s can pick up the pieces. God knows without the government they wouldn’t last two weeks.

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 9:49amI am going to play Devil’s advocate on Gonzo’s reply that conservatives that didn’t get out to vote should be ashamed.
It is no longer good enough to vote for the lesser of two evils for a great number of conservative voters. Notice I did not say Republican voters. The republican party has been pulled so far to the left that many conservatives no longer recognize it. (here is a great video explaining this vimeo.com/52009124)
I will say, I will NEVER again vote for a liberal put up as a conservative, in the end my conscience is what I have to left to live with and I saw many others post similar comments all over the interweb prior to the election.
If this country goes down then we go down fighting for what we believe in, not as those that would turn their backs on what they were elected for and who elected them,….. isn’t that what made this country free?

Having this Kenyan maggot as the president is comparable to being forced to watch your mother gang raped. It is absolutely disgusting what this POS has done to our country. I fear there may be no return after he and his slugs and thugs are finished. Fortunately, there are still a few good people who believe in the principles set forth by our founding fathers; however, as the years go by it seems those numbers dwindle. Those who love the USA are a minority, a proud minority but a minority nonetheless. God bless this once great country. We need it.

We left Iraq 1 or 2 years ago. It has not crumbled. Please try to keep up. I expect it to crumble if the Muslims Brotherhood and Al Qaeda win in Syria & Lebanon. At such time I expect Iran to become an U.S. ally. The Syrian opposition has given Hezbollah an ultimatum. It remains to be seen this weekend if the ultimatum was more than bluff.
You have not replied about the Democrats attempting to throw out military overseas ballots. Do you agree with that?
Also please note that when the Taliban took over Afghanistan the contributed less than 1/3 rd of the troops to do so. The rest were Pakistani & foreigners form elsewhere in the Muslims world.

Let’s take Afghanistan.
1 Al Qaeda attacked us on 911.
2. The Taliban gave Al Qaeda sanctuary and support.
3. The Taliban refused to stop giving Al Qaeda sanctuary
4. Congress voted to attack Afghanistan.
“The Authorization for Use of Military Force [1] is a joint resolution passed by the United States Congress on September 14, 2001, authorizing the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the attacks on September 11, 2001. The authorization granted the President the authority to use all “necessary and appropriate force” against those whom he determined “planned, authorized, committed or aided” the September 11th attacks, or who harbored said persons or groups.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_for_Use_of_Military_Force_Against_Terrorists
Clearly the Taliban harbored Al Qaeda. If you deny that then we cannot agree to much of anything except whether the sun rose and that is about it. If you deny the Taliban harbored Al Qaeda, then I take it you are a troll, pure and simple. Or in your case impure and brazen.

So how would you bring Usama bin Laden & his Lieutenants to trial? Send in a 6 person seal team to infiltrate an Al Qaeda camp to spirit Usama out of Afghanistan so he could stand trial. While you are at it maybe you can accomplish this by twitching your nose like Samanatha the witch did on the 60s show “Bewitched” !
Maybe you can throw around a few cruise missiles like President Clinton (D) did in Afghanistan & Sudan. In Sudan they lied & said it was an aspirin factory or powdered milk factory. Of course you know that a pharmaceutical or fertilizer factory can be geared up to produce chemical & biological weapons. Anyway the U.S. had to give up its’ sources & methods or pay up. We payed up because well Clinton is a Democrat. Then the was the Afghan camps hit with cruise missiles. Since they were overflying Pakistan Clinton called them up. The Pakistanis then called Usama. The missiles hit empty tents.
All you do is tell us what we can’t do.You do not tell s what we can do that is effective. Therefore, we will not believe you. WE believe that you are trolling or working in the best interest of someone besides the majority of the U.S. people.

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 9:32amWalkabout,
I think you’re missing the point. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 was written into the Constitution because the people the wrote and ratified it had lived under a power that had the ability to take them into war whenever he pleased. King George III could declare war on whoever he wanted whenever he wanted and the colonists wanted to get away from this. They did not want to replace their king with a president who had the same level of power regarding war.
So with this in mind, how do we go after those responsible for 9/11? You send in hit squads, you work with Afghans, you hire mercenaries. You do all of this without civilian casualties.
Or, if you’re going to plan a mass invasion, you go to congress with a declaraction of war and you discuss how you can fight the war and win it while minimizing cvilian casualities. Then you declare war, you fight it, you win it, and you come home. Period. No more more endless undeclared wars. Understand?

Rush did not say he did not love this country. I love this country. I’m embarrassed that my fellow Americans freely give up their freedoms for a pittance and are too ignorant to realize the government, the new plantation owners don’t give a damn about them except for a vote. For instance Mary Landrieu said Republicans stole money from Social Security when she willingly took 300 million out of Social Security for a vote which makes her a liar and a thief. I’m embarrassed thinking of all the men and women who gave their lives for our freedoms who would be so disappointed in a government who has robbed them in more than one way leaving their generations today and the future bereft of those freedoms. Posted on February 21, 2013 at 2:56pmthis is what an entitlement society looks like. I am ashamed that some, not all, of the people in this country feel it is someone or something else’s responsibility to provide for themselves. This is not the country I was raised in or learned of in school. If you wish to leave the sinking ship, where do you go? All the other countries are worse than this. There is still opportunity here but the days of old are gone. I understand why Beck would sometimes cry on the air. I understand what he meant when he said “You will not recognize this country __ years from now”. I didn’t want to believe that but he was completely right.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 2:55pmI have nothing but respect for my country and all the principles we stand for; what I have contempt for are those who will not see the truth by their own choice, and those who seek to overthrow the entire nation once and for all.
God willing we will take it back and save the Republic; events are in motion and all have to choose where they stand. Time is almost up.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 2:53pmI hate to admit it, but Rush is right on the mind-boggling stupidity of this situation.
How is it every time the government pulls out the human shields of police, firefighters, and teachers to block any move on cutting government funding we fall for it? Saying that we stand up like wet tissue paper is an understatement.
Why do people still believe the apocalyptic arguments that shaving what amounts to less than a percent of the budget will lead to complete collapse of government?
This is like watching someone play “tic tac toe,” and constantly get destroyed by the exact same move over and over again. It’s embarrassing that the general public can’t see the games for what they are. If they can’t figure out just the bare simplicity of what the games are, then we are doomed.

Posted on February 23, 2013 at 8:54amCorrect on all. Police, firefighters and teachers are paid by the municipalities in which they are employed – NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. I am one of those ‘Poor federal employess that will be furloughed.” I received my briefing yesterday, along with my entire Fire Department. Take notice – we will ALL be at work but forced to surrender 20% of our pay for 22 pay periods. Like all firemen, every where, we all have second jobs. For those in our DOD community who may actually suffer, even a little, we’ve sone what all good communities do – we’ve identified them and are prepared to assist with food, babysitting, whatever it takes. All so Obozo doesn’t have to make the more sensible cuts to, oh – government cell phones, green energy and the like. As for the airports – my much better half is a private pilot and those small airports are already closed after 9:00 p.m. and most weekends and holidays. All pilots know VFR and most large carriers are already ADSB equipped. STOP THE PANIC. Again – all smoke and mirrors! Worse, it will only stop this years increased spending plans. Nope – not a single impact on your future pain.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 3:05pmThe communists knew that if they turned us into women, men into women, they will have a society who decides every event on emotion. Facts and actual policies don’t matter. What matters is what someone says and if it sounds good. A little tear, a little quiver in the voice, a mention of god, we must be for the down trodden, whether they mean it or not, and that person will be put on a pedestal.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 3:30pmYou aren’t alone in that.America has been co-opted.To the point I don’t even see it as America anymore. To me America and what my was fought for has long since died.It died of cowardice stupidity greed and last but not least their absolute willingness to incorporate the enemy of the state into postions of power. This way the infiltration goes unfettered until the last molecule of anything we ever stood for is destroyed.

I just hope in the saying that “ a sheep will allow the shearer to handle them but will always put up a fight when the butcher comes to town. I am just not too sure on the Sheeple that voted for BO in the first place.

Posted on February 23, 2013 at 5:40pmMy only hope is that it has become so blatant that even the ignorant can see this administration for what it is and actually act on it. I think most people know that Obama is a liar and a socialist but they dont see the Republicans as any better…if the Republicans dont step up and call the Democrats Liars to their face, many people will lose faith in them. many Repubs in congress think it is bad manners to say such things openly but most in the public think that if they dont…then they are no different from the Dems. At least the public knows the Dems are liars but they still have to guess at the Repubs…so they vote for the devil they know…

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 11:37amI’ve been ashamed since the day I heard Obama’s wife say the same thing. The things that spewed from his lip’s during that time period smelled exactly like Socialism or Communism. The thing that ashamed me most of all, was the fact that the people just didn’t care. They are now willing to go all the way down that path of oppression and loss of freedom for a cell phone and some food stamps.
