Rush Limbaugh: ‘For the First Time in My Life I Am Ashamed of My Country’

“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country,” Rush Limbaugh said Thursday. “To be watching all of this, to have my intelligence – all of us – to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being, is — it just makes me ashamed.”

The conservative radio host’s ire was the result of the sequester, the looming federal spending cuts set to automatically go into effect at the end of this month unless Congress and the White House can reach a deal. He called it “deja vu all over again” and ripped President Barack Obama for keeping himself above the fray and painting himself as a Washington outsider “even though it was his idea.”

“Here we get worked up over $44 billion – that’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year,” Limbaugh said. “And in truth we’re going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We’re just not going to spend as much as projected. It’s all baseline budgeting. There is no real cut below a baseline of zero. There just isn’t. And yet here they come, sucking us in, roping us in. Panic here. Fear there. Crisis. Destruction. No meat inspection. No cops. No teachers. No firefighters. No air traffic control.

“I’m sorry, my days of getting roped into all of this are over. We have the media play along with all of this, the ruling class – both parties – play along with all of this,” he continued. “It’s insulting. I don’t know how else to describe it.”

    The morons in Washington who are supposed to be on the side of We The People, had better not cave to Obozo on this. King Husein is now out there saying the sequester was congress’s idea. Are you frigging kidding me ? Barry has balls the size of grapefruits. All the while he knows no one in the MSM will call him on it. The point is probably moot anyway, as this country has passed the point of no return mathematically, as far as our fiscal health is concerned. All of this bread and circus is merely a distraction and accomplishes nothing more than the rearranging of deck chairs on the Titanic.

    Rush is starting to catch on, I’ve been ashamed of my country for the last 4 years 2 months. My father, a war veteran died a few months after obama was first elected. When they presented me with his service flag, the only thing I could think was, this means nothing under obama.

Just look at what has been done to the Office of the President of the United States. There really is no respect for the President anymore. It’s become quite a joke. Not to mention what Biden has done for the Office of the Vice President of the Unites States. He’s a pure idiot. I am ashamed of the President and the Vice President and the folks that put them in office.

Every one who is an American and qualifies to vote to sit home on their hands and allow others to decide their fate using the miserable excuse of “not having the right candidate” is just flat stupidity. My gosh, even people in Iraq realized how important freedom is and risked being shot in order to vote.     Some of the press are referring to the looming cuts as “massive”. Compared to what? They’re only 5% of the current discretionary programs. I believe the real story here is the systematic dumbing down of America by the public schools so they can actual get away with nonsense like this.

    The thing about this Rush Limbaugh guy is that he says out loud what 95+% of his listeners feel & think. That’s why he’s has the most popular radio program in America. And when the progressives here something like this they, as usual, beat up the messenger & not the message, WHY??, cause they can’t, cause he’s right. When someone says I feel… or I think… then whatever follows is correct. They’re talking about themselves, their feelings, their emotions, so, they cannot be wrong.
    I am an American who moved from the USA 5 years ago, and get happier (unfortunately) every day that I did. I used to hold my head high and proudly say USA when asked where I’m from. Now,, well, my head isn’t held as high, my shoulders aren’t that straight and firm, my eyes aren’t as happy, and my voice isn’t that strong and clear as it was before. It hurts to see what is happening to my country, what it is becoming, where it will end. Our country has lost most of the respect we had around the world, and unfortunately, for good reason. People like to see the strong and powerful fall.

    Ok now I’m more confused than ever. Rush is saying it’s 44 billion, yet, everywhere else I look it says 109 billion. So which is it? Even if it’s 109 billion, that is still less than 3% of the budget. They can’t find 3% to cut?

    It would be like if you had a $2000 monthly budget and you had to cut back 3%. That’s only $60. I’m sure any household could manage that.

We want to be left alone to create and produce our own success in life without interference from government. We CHOOSE our own level of success in life and make no excuses for it. Most of us are NOT Millionaires or Billionaires.

    Liberals, on the other hand, envy what we do and feel they should be given some of what we create simply because they draw a breath. They would rather sit on their @$$ and collect some of our prosperity than expend that billionth of a watt in brain power and generate an original idea.

Barry has to read all his speeches because he has no original thoughts of his own. He can’t speak from his heart…because he doesn’t have one. He’s a phony; an empty suit. The rich and poor have never been closer and more understanding. Obama has the most transparent administration in history and he really cares for our military and the multiple deployments.
