Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday he doesn’t think there’s “any question” that President Barack Obama would like that repeal the Second Amendment.

Hatch made the comment during an interview with conservative radio host Laura Ingraham, who asked, “Do you think, if he had his druthers, President Obama would repeal the Second Amendment?” according to the Huffington Post.

“I don’t think there’s any question about it. Most liberal Democrats would,” Hatch responded. “I don’t know of any liberal Republicans that would, but most liberal Democrats would. They’ll mouth that they wouldn’t, but look, what are they doing? They want more and more controls.”

Obama has repeatedly professed his “respect” for the Second Amendment in his quest for stricter gun control measures. In unveiling a series of executive actions to combat gun violence last month, he said, “Like most Americans, I believe the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. I respect our strong tradition of gun ownership and the rights of hunters and sportsmen.”

Hatch, who survived a Tea Party-backed primary challenge 66 percent to 34 percent before winning re-election last year, has been vocal in his opposition to background checks for gun buyers.

“One reason most conservatives are very concerned about universal background checks is that’s the beginning of the end of government controlling every aspect of our lives,” Hatch said Thursday.

He called gun control proposals from Democrats “really all political” and added: “This president never misses a political advantage.”

    What does he mean “think”? What’s to think about. Obama is surrounded by alinsky radicals who have said this repeatedly in many different ways.

The Tea Party is going to be watching his fiscal votes. Why would anyone go on Laura’s show? Dude, she dwarfs the audience of Peirs Nazi Morgan, or for that matter any of the PMSNBC jerks. She has a larger audience than anyone on CurrentTV either.

      I certainly didn’t need orrin to verify that Obama hates the Constitution. I’ve known that for years.

      Obama doesn’t give a damn about the U.S. Constitution but he sure wants our tax dollars to move his satanic, communistic agenda forward.

      The leadership of my church has asked us to pray for Obama and his folks in the administration. Well, here it goes.

      Heavenly Father, would You please figure out a way to remove Obama from the White House and have him never return. He is thwarting the Constitution that you gave to us through wise men and much bloodshed. We are being oppressed by him and his minions and we want to be free of his tyranny. We are tired of unjust taxes and the violation of the rights that You gave to us. Just because you haven’t heard of Hatch talking about it before doesn’t mean he hasn’t been fighting for gun rights all along or had this opinion about the Libs. Hatch is very conservative. He probably hasn’t been 100% behind all you stand for but that doesn’t make him a bad senator. Reagan did some things I didn’t like (amnesty for one) but that didn’t make him a lousy president. Some of you guys will never be happy.

    Infringe (verb):

    Definition 1. disobey or disregard something

    (transitive verb) to fail to obey a law or regulation or observe the terms of an agreement.

    Definition 2. encroach on somebody’s right or property

    (transitive and intransitive verb) to take over land, rights, privileges, or activities that belong to somebody else, especially in a minor or gradual way.

    State legislature Democrats in New York is at the very least on the borderline doing just that.     New York is already so far ahead on this. They are already drumming up support for a law that will require all gun owners to have a 1 million dollar liability insurance policy on their fire arms. If the policy lapses 30 days the state will confiscate the fire arms. Cost of the the policy is estimated to be around $2,000.00 per year. By undermining every right we have they could literally eliminate all rights. I guess they really aren’t our rights unless we make them our rights.

      This is the problem, people believe there are only two parties and they can only vote for an R or D. Something like 10% of the registered Rs didn’t even bother to vote in the last election.     Of course the government wants your guns. Do you really doubt it? Evidence Washington, Missouri and Colorado legislation wanting to ban and confiscate your guns. No doubt about it. We must be able to defend this nation against forces from the outside and from within. We cannot depend on the police to be there even now. What makes you think you are safe if you cannot defend yourself?

      Did you see/listen to the story of a UNLV female who was raped in an on-campus parking garage?
      She had a concealed carry permit but could not have a gun on the campus. After the rape, the UNLV admin. said she could carry, but if she told anyone, ANYONE, she would be kicked out of the university. Good luck to the next victim who will not have a gun.
      After her ordeal, and on THE SAME night, two more women were raped by the same assailant. The last victim was not so lucky. She was murdered!
      This all happened a so-called safe zone, and within close proximity of campus police, who were off duty. OH…the attacker had a gun! No consequences for him.

I blame our one party system and voter apathy for the current state of our republic,for too many years we’ve sat idly by while our government our ‘servants’ have robbed our kids and grand kids of a future and created a police state. The government is buying up tons of ammo while they’re trying to infringe on our right to firearms and I don’t like the smell of what this statist government is cooking.

    President Obama can’t have it both ways, you can’t call law abiding citizens dangerous weapons (you don’t separate guns from people?), then tell everyone you don’t want to take away and put them in FEMA camps when Dept of Homeland security has 2 billion rounds of ammunition?

    Non-essential combat troops (the equivalent of civilian security forces who do not face organized combat attacks) get what, 500 to 1000 rounds annually MAXIMUM for practice once they are out of basic training per soldier? These civilian forces are geting tens of thousands of rounds per employee?

    Obviously that is a financial over sight and all that ammunition needs to get returned and tax payers should have demand that money be spent elsewhere? Reasonable gun control means you leave control in the hands of citizens that are immune from politicial infringements? How do Social Security employees get more ammo than troops in the US Army without over sights in financial expenditures that need to be corrected?

    We are all ears Sen. Hatch, you got the power to ask those questions, and demand answers?

    If you’re smart enough to pose the question, then you’re also smart enough to already know the answer. It is the goal of any government, no matter how founded or organized, to over time, expand and grow its size, increase its suppression/control over those it governs, and to manipulate its people into a mindset of dependence and fear (of the power of gov’t authority).
    It’s clear our government is about 2/3rds of the way to reaching these goals. Its self-destructive, however. Once a system of government has reached its seemingly DNA-driven goal, it inevitably implodes upon itself in self-destruction and collapse…and it all starts over again.

    Hi. Presidents can’t repeal Amendments.

    Amendments being removed cannot repeal an inalienable rights.

    Attempts to prevent an inalienable right from being exercised will result in civil war.

    Four sentences (not counting this one) and all you need to know about amendments and rights, folks. :)

      Possibly. His only problem will be it won’t be the one he thinks he will get. What he will get is millions of gun owners(Black, White, Mexican, Asian, and others) coming to run him and the Libs out of town.
      It won’t be anything he and Big Sis are thinking about. It won’t be racial, it won’t be rural vs. city. It will be people that believe in America as it was founded. They are all out here. Some loud and many many more silent ones. It will be the masses marching as one against the government. As we all head toward DC the Police, Firemen, First responders, TSA, Homeland Security and the Military will all turn about face and march with us. Their our friends, neighbors, family members and loved ones.
      Your inner city thugs will turn and run like hell to your side wanting protection and a handout because you are all they know. Your handout and shell game will erode at your feet as you try to find a country that will take you and yours. You can grab a flight out and may I suggest Iran, Libya, Yemen, Egypt or maybe even Syria. The Muslim Brotherhood countries will welcome you with open arms I am sure. After all you are one of them and you will be able to come out of the closet when you land there. Maybe then you can use your community organizing skills in your new homeland.     The big question….why would the gov, via Homeland Security be stockpiling 2 billion rounds of ammunition and wanting desperately to disarm the American citizens.
