Texas GOP Chair: If Hillary Runs in 2016, Texas Won’t Be a ‘Solid Republican’ State

Texas State Republican Chair: If Hillary Runs in 2016, Texas Wont Be a Solid Republican State The Texas Republican Party is taking very seriously the possibility of Hillary Clinton running for president in 2016 — and the idea that the red state juggernaut could actually become a battleground.

In an interview with Real Clear Politics, state GOP Chairman Steve Munisteri said they’re not dismissing the idea that Texas could go blue come next election.

“If she’s the nominee, I would say that this is a ‘lean Republican’ state but not a ‘solid Republican’ state,” Munisteri said. “I don’t know anyone nationally who’s scoffing at this. The national party leadership is aware and tells me they’re taking it seriously.”

Texas Democrats are even more optimistic. Tanene Allison, the state party communications director, said Texas could “absolutely” be a swing state, just four years after former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney beat President Barack Obama by nearly 16 whole points.

“I think that in 2016 it will absolutely be considered a swing state in the sense that presidential candidates will have to campaign here, which they haven’t been doing for a long time,” Allison told Real Clear Politics. “If Hillary Clinton does run, she does really well in Texas.”

Such confidence is bolstered by a survey last month by the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling that showed Clinton coming out on top in hypothetical 2016 match-ups against Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Texas’ own governor, Rick Perry.

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in September, was similarly optimistic about his state’s future first as a “purple” and then as a blue state in an interview with CBS News’ “Face the Nation” last month.

“In a couple of presidential cycles, you’ll be on election night, you’ll be announcing we’re calling the 38 electoral votes of Texas for the Democratic nominee for president,” Castro said.

Hillary will be running under the ‘overton window’ concept…once the window of liberalism is moved soooo far to the left by obaba, Hillary bringing it back to the right just a little bit will be welcomed by most all of America. That is why she has separated herself from this admin, to erase the stink of this admin from her campaign. Just watch and see….she’ll run on the premise of saving America from the far left marxists, ect. She and Bill will come riding to the rescue for both parties….

Yup, as the Democrats continue to be soft on immigration, it is only a matter of time before the state is majority composed of Hispanics. And this is course is on purpose for the Democrat plan. Easy way to win more votes!

If Texas goes blue we are in bigger trouble than we even think! If the GOP does not get off it’s stupid ass and go out and expose the BLATANT LIES obama and company tell, then they will get what they deserve. These guys are in front of every camera and mic they can find! It is time the GOP do the same. Tell the truth and use the footage of the dems lies IN THERE OWN WORDS…..people will see the light. It will take some time and effort but it will work. Lies will only carry the dems so far. Those that work still outnumber those that do not…..if that flips there will be no turning back.

If Texas becomes a swing state, I will need to move to a state that is not. Maybe Alaska this time. When TEXAS Goes DEMOCRAT, then I have no desire to stay here any longer.

  fellow Floridian….I used to think that….the only thing that worries me is the numbers of people he is putting on the dole. If he gets that much higher we may have a big problem. When those that collect outnumbers those that pay….it will be near impossible to reverse. Even though it will send this nation into a tailspin the dole-a-crats don’t care….they only care about their power. The Founders would vomit if they were alive!

If Hilary runs in 2016 I can’t say I’ll vote republican. Not that I would ever vote for her, but if that republican isn’t a strict, dyed in the wool, Conservative they won’t be getting my vote. I’m sick and tired of wasting my vote on WHOEVER just because I don’t want the democrat to win. Put up a Rand Paul/Ted Cruz type candidate or forget it.

  Thank you Ghandi for reminding us about all the questionable associations to the multitude of murders that seemed to surround the Clintons from Arkansas to D.C. I was just getting ready to look for these papers I’ve saved since the late 90′s talking about her time in Ark. and making a bundle of money on 1st hand knowledge (illegal) and all the other unbelievable things that “just happened.” You mentioned Mena, Ark. and drug running and the 3 boys killed who stumbled on something they shouldn’t have seen.
  
  Just too many coincidences that seemed to lead to murder of too many troopers and a wife of one and all the other coincidences. Hope everyone reads your posts about this travesty.

But, not to worry, obummer is not planning on leaving the oval office even if martial law is required. She might be able to hire on as a maid oh, I forgot michael.

I don’t often listen to Karl Rove, but when I feel Bushed; I prefer to listen to him misunderestimate the number of women, latinos, blacks, catholics, jews, gays, lesbians, college educated, legal immigrants, retired and near retired, neo-libertarians, wounded veterans, single Moms, and 18-to-25 year old patriots who vote in Texas.
