Police say a call about a man carrying a rifle and wearing body armor on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus was “unfounded” and that there is no threat to public safety.
MIT, just outside Boston, was placed on lockdown Saturday morning after the report went out. The Cambridge Police Department said it searched the building in question with “negative results.”

Feb. 23, 2013 at 2:25pmWhile the anti-gun debate was raging during the 1990s there were several incidents of leftist anti-gun activist CREATING false “Public Scares” like this one. I witnessed on such incident myself where a guy who was obviously weak in the Y chromosome department and had is hair cut and colored exactly like Bill Clinton’s, was wearing a bright yellow shirt and electric blue shorts to draw attention. And he was wearing a pistol in a hip holster. He was riding his bicycle in continuous circles in the entrance drive of a McDonald’s Restaurant at the noon lunch rush, in order to make sure everyone who entered saw him. Eventually he parked his bike and went inside placed his order then went out front and sat at the outdoor seating by the drive to eat. Someone called the police and after talking to him for a while they let him go, but confiscated the gun. There were several of these types of “incidents” reported across the country around that time as well as false reports being called in reporting sightings of threatening looking people carrying weapons in public places. It’s all about creating fear in the soccer mom’s and in the weaklings.

I have worked with scores of people like this over my career, I know exactly what you’re talking about. I was only half-kidding about the door knob. I know some PhDs that would strain mightily to figure one out.
Whenever I run across someone like that I like to ask them this question: Why is one side of the V longer when geese fly in formation? I’m not joking when I say I’ve gotten long-winded dissertations about all kinds of theories, most usually include something about the Earth’s magnetic field. But the answer is simple–there are more geese on that side.
