9 Year Olds Suggestive Rap Videos Could Be Sign of Child Abuse, Police Say

BROCKTON, Mass. (TheBlaze/AP) — Police have asked state child welfare officials to investigate possible child abuse or neglect in the case of a 9-year-old who appears in sexually suggestive rap videos.

Brockton police said Monday they haven’t filed criminal charges or arrested the father of fourth-grader Luie Rivera Jr., who goes by the stage name Lil Poopy.

A Department of Children and Families spokeswoman confirmed that officials are looking into concerns about the young rapper’s welfare.

The investigation will include interviews with everyone who lives in the child’s home and likely others who have contact with the 9-year-old, such as school officials, DCF spokeswoman Cayenne Isaksen said. Child welfare officials can refer the case to the local district attorney’s office if an investigation finds any criminal behavior, she said.

“The filers of this report wanted to make sure the child is being properly cared for,” Isaksen said. “…So the department will look into all aspects of this.”

The videos show the boy slapping a woman’s buttocks, engaging in sexually suggestive dances and glorifying drug use and materialism.

Police started investigating after the local newspaper, The Enterprise, did a story about the boy.

The boy’s father, Luis Rivera, told the newspaper his son is acting and not doing anything wrong. He said he planned to contact his lawyer on Monday.

The newspaper said the boy has performed alongside Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, and was discovered in his father’s music studio by the rapper known as French Montana, who founded Cocaine City Records.

Lil Poopy music that was posted to an online mix tape site last October has lyrics that include him singing about being a “bad boy” and a “cocaine cowboy.”

It showed about 8,600 downloads and 195,000 views by Monday afternoon. YouTube posts also feature the boy singing “Coke ain’t a bad word,” and show him with Coca-Cola.

There are also videos of the pint-sized rapper hanging out with adults, who regularly use explicit language and discuss adult content. Watch one of the videos here.

      When freedom is taken for granted and the people have no morals, the government needs to take the freedom away. This is the America I’m trashing! The America you’re defending does not exist for at least 1/2 of the population. Too many people feel entitled to freedom and free stuff, but freedom needs to be earned. Obama was ELECTED, so I have no sympathy for the pain the masses are about to feel, as far as I’m concerned, it’s 100% deserved

    The sad thing is that this black culture being absorbed by Puerto Rican community in Mass. They don’t haven’t identity. In order to fit in the absorb that bad features of the other minority.       It’s not just the Puerto Rican community which is absorbing black culture, it’s also the white and Asian communities. For some reason, young Americans love the culture of the lowest common denominator. Ever wonder why they are spreadking “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” to other nations? I’m sure it’s not to demonstrate how cultured we Amercians are. It’s about leveling the playing field.     I taught “one of these” “rap artists” in 9th Grade, he’d “perform” “Brick House” on the side of his desk in class, and before he’d graduated he’d fathered 3 illegitimate little gangstathoodin welfare bastids by 3 different underage homiehos.

    A 9 year old Black Male sexually abusing a “white” female is completely unsurprising to me.
    I have it from a Black Female Colleague at that same school that: “That’s the way it is!” In other words a CULTURAL norm.

    When I was his age, I was being fed, “You ain’t seen nuthin’ till you’re down on a muffin” (courtesy of Aerosmith). Filth has been marketed to kids even when most of us were kids. That is not to say it isn’t a problem. It’s a big problem, but it didn’t just start all of a sudden. Like everything else in the arsenal, it’s incremental. It will take just as long to reverse it as it took it to take hold of our culture. Actually, it may take longer….

      sorry to rain on your hopeful future but Janice Joplin said it for MY generation with “DRUGS, SEX, ROCK and ROLL!” My generation rejected NOT the “Values”–the “materialism” of our parents—you can’t GET anymore materialistic than “Drug, Sex, Rock and Roll”—no, we rejected the VIRTUES of our parents—Honor, Duty, Personal Responsibility for ones own behavior and to Family, Community, Nation. Once a generation HAS rejected that, HOW do they “reverse” and “get it back”?
      They can’t pass what they DON’T HAVE on to any subsequent generation. So “as long” or “longer” is actually “no way”.

    Being the father of a 6th grader and a 3rd grader, I can tell you they are the demographic to whom this kinda filth is being marketed. So why punish the parents of a 9 year old who is merely parroting what he is being fed by the establishment? It’s sick, ain’t it? Certainly is, but pay attention.
