Guess Which Popular Republican Governor Will Not Be ‘Invited’ to CPAC…

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie describes plans Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Lavallette, N.J., while making an announcement on the reconstruction of Route 35, a major shore highway that was heavily damaged by Superstorm Sandy. Christie says more than $200 million in federal funds will be used to rebuild a 12.5-mile storm-damaged stretch of Route 35. Under an aggressive timetable he says completion is expected by the summer of 2015. Credit: AP
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, whose job approval rests at 74 percent, has not been invited to speak at CPAC 2013, an annual gathering of conservatives from across the country. The blue state Republican governor is considered by many to be one of the GOP’s presidential candidates in 2016.
Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) are all scheduled to speak at this year’s CPAC gathering — but Christie was snubbed. According to a source close to the event, the popular governor has not and will not be invited.
As Politico notes, Christie drew the ire of some conservatives for heaping praise on President Barack Obama for his efforts following Superstorm Sandy. Christie has also spoke out about addressing climate change and has been perceived as not pro-gun enough for some conservatives.
More from Politico:
On the one hand, it spares Christie — who’s running for reelection in a blue state — the agita of having to make an appearance that Democrats would use against him in 2013. On the other, it underscores that some conservatives still are angry over the post-Sandy performance, as well as his tongue-lashing of House Speaker John Boehner for tabling a bill to provide storm aid.
CPAC officials decided not to invite former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani in 2007. Like Christie, Giuliani was pro-choice but was perceived as too far to the left on social issues by some conservatives.
CPAC officials say the speaker line-up is still being finalized.
“We still have three weeks to CPAC and have several more announcements to go,†Communications Director Laura Keehner Rigas told ABC News. “I encourage everyone to hold tight.â€

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 12:06pmI see a lot of Christie disapproval’s here in the comments…………
Just asking…….
So who do we have left? The Liberal Media has successfully destroyed all of the Conservative candidates through the typical Progressive lies.
Based on over 50% of the people in this Country being stupid, we are faced with a Hillary Clinton and possibly a Joe Biden in office………….

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 10:40amChristy is good for New Jersey where there was only one way to correct their “crap” Democrat union corruption. Other than that, CC is just another opportunistic RINO. There is no place for anyone other than a stainless steel spine and constitutional conservative values person to be promoted in the Republican Party. Join or offer to “work” within your local Republican Party as a precinct committeeman or woman and take back the party of Lincoln. The political whores like Arizona’s Juan McCain MUST be flushed out or America is doomed. Wake up people and get to WORK!

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 10:06amI have a suspicion that Moochelle is testing the waters for a presidential run in 2016.. that way the king and queen don’t have to give up the throne. If this is another popularity contest.. she’ll win.
Sadly half this country cares more about what people wear and who they know and how much influence they have and the color of their skin and how much money they give to them but not how honest and capable they would be to run this country.
A woman I spoke to yesterday has a son working n DC. he told her it is unbelievable what is going on in DC. Thousands of dollars are being given to people for unknown reasons.. could this be the infamous “stash”? Cash given out to AAs.as a silent resdistributive activity?
They are allegedly paying people $11.00/hour to fight for gun bans. This is why there is no money.. it is being given away by a king for his own benefit

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 10:00amI’ll give the Governor credit for slowing the taxpayer funded union benefits and his attempt at re-writing the school funding, which was blocked by the activist NJ Supreme Court. However, what he has left untouched are the part time municipal employees and contractors who are still enrolled in the state benefits suite, i.e. health insurance and pensions. He has not adequately addressed the retirement bonus of ‘saved sick days’, which generate a huge paycheck when state employees retire.
Anyone claiming Christie is a “conservative” is uninformed. People are fleeing states that have high tax rates to support a growing number of welfare recipients and New Jersey ranks number 1 in that exodus.
New Jersey’s current budget is $31.7 Billion and the Governor is going to have to figure out how to makeup a shortfall of $350 Million to $1 Billion for next year’s budget. The Marxist Legislature has already passed a $9 per hour minimum wage with future increases tied to CPI and has continued to push for a renewal of the ‘millionaire tax’.
Why would anyone want to move a business to this state let alone start one?

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 9:47amlet me see if i get this straight. you invite proven losers to speak. Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Adam West, Paul Ryan. However you exclude proven winners such as Chris Christie. Chris is a republican governor in a democrat state. You are all nuts. This is exactly why you lose and why you are surprised when you lose. You are not the majority of the country. you are just the base of the right. That is not enough to win. When you exclude the rest of the country, you don’t see what’s really going on outside of this little bubble you live in. Than you act shocked and complain and come up with excuses as to why your side lost. The only reason for a loss is the constant support of losers. if you are going to keep going this way, than get used to losing.

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 7:06amIf the republicans want to win any more elections they had best start walking the conservative walk but so far they just talk it.
NONE of them that I have heard mentioned to run in 2016 are even remotely conservative, not a single one.
We need a conservative party as the republicans have gotten to be every bit as bad as the democrats.

We the people are to blame and the only fix is to cap the government pay scales. Opportunity has got to exist in the Privet sector NOT the government.
