(TheBlaze/AP) — Ben Affleck’s “Argo,” a film about a fake movie, has earned a very real prize: best picture at the Academy Awards.
In “share-the-wealth mode,” the Associated Press writes, Oscar voters spread Sunday’s honors among a range of films, with “Argo” winning three trophies but “Life of Pi” leading with four.
Daniel Day-Lewis became the first person to win three best-actor Oscars, the latest coming for “Lincoln,” while “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence triumphed in Hollywood’s big games as best actress for “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Ang Lee pulled off a major upset, winning best director for the shipwreck story “Life of Pi,” taking the prize over Steven Spielberg, who had been favored for “Lincoln.” It was the second directing Oscar for Lee, who also won for “Brokeback Mountain.”

The supporting-acting prizes went to Anne Hathaway for “Les Miserables” and Christoph Waltz for “Django Unchained.” It was Waltz’s second supporting-actor Oscar in a Quentin Tarantino film after previously winning for “Inglourious Basterds.” Tarantino also earned his second Oscar, for the “Django” screenplay, a category he previously won for “Pulp Fiction.”

1. Best Picture: “Argo.”
2. Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis, “Lincoln.”
3. Actress: Jennifer Lawrence, “Silver Linings Playbook.”
4. Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, “Django Unchained.”

Posted on February 25, 2013 at 12:39pmWhat a load of hypocrites! Hollywood makes millions of dollars off of violence where automatic weapons are used more than actors…and these hypocrites will turn around and demand that American-loving law abiding citizens turn in THEIR GUNS! Even Tom Cruise had to delay the opening of his latest violent movie Jack Reacher because of the Connecticut school shooting. Notice, he did not CANCEL the showing — he just delayed the opening night. The wealth these celebrities enjoy is something that us plebeians can only dream about, while we are told by our PRESIDENT, that this kind of wealth is unfair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …and who shows up at the Oscars? First ‘lady’ Michelle Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hollywood and the Obamas are POMPOUS, HOLLOW, VILE, PHONY, TWO-FACED ELITISTS living the kind of lives THEY CRITICIZE!!! Astounding how many mindless people actually still believe in these folks.

I missed the entire thing. As did everyone I know. If there are people who actually care about the Oscars, they aren’t anyone I know.

Posted on February 25, 2013 at 10:14amArgo has got to be the worst movie I have seen this year and that includes movies that I saw that were not made in 2012.
Ben Affleck had characters with no purpose .
The cinematography would make Werner Herzog weep.
His actors were STONES. ben must’ve said, “act like a rock” or everyone act frightened but don’t act like the characters roles had their lives hanging on it.
Oscar…hah.
The Oscars a a hedonistic Greece fest. Everyone there is a w-ore cause they are all paid to love one another.
How’s the herpes?! I wonder what Ben’s casting couch looked like? and don’t you think there wasn’t one.

Posted on February 25, 2013 at 10:06amThank you Blaze for politely supplying me all I needed to know about the Oscar self-love fest. I got to read who won what in about 30 seconds and thereby didn’t need to sink into unprofitable boredom by watching the whole show last night. Truth be told, I completely forgot it was on…

More money is now made overseas on DVD sales than in seats in American movie theaters.
I think we can now deduce that Hollyweird, the music biz, MLB and the NFL are done.

Posted on February 25, 2013 at 7:50amUnfortunately ‘Argo’ did not tell the real story of how Canada saved the hostages in Iran. Too bad really, because brave men and women did not get the recognition that they deserved. Should not have been “Best Picture’ based on that lie alone.

The U.S. has a long history of taking credit for things whether it’s true or not. That’s what makes us so great! So Canada, look to the south of your border, take a few notes and learn. You too will one day be as great as the USA whether you deserve it or not.
