‘Liberal Overlords of Comedy’: Michelle Malkin Hits Back at Media Mocking Her for Satirical Video of Michelle Obama

Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin is well-known for her cutting attacks on liberal hypocrisy and “the mainstream media,” but with her most recent publication she appears to have chosen satire as her weapon of choice.
Following Michelle Obama’s appearance on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” where the two boogied for several minutes portraying “the evolution of Mom dancing,” Malkin made a video about the evolution of liberal dancing.
But the media was quick to skewer the latter.
“Can someone please explain how this Michelle Malkin video is funny?” The Atlantic asked.
The Huffington Post was less restrained in an article describing the video as “the biggest facepalm of all time”:
Can explain what the hell is going on here? If you know what dances called “Fly Like a Menendez” (?) or “The Diggie (Obama’s spending sinkhole)” (??) mean, we would love to know.
We did, however, enjoy “The Golfing Man,” as Barack Obama is the first president to have played golf, a foreign activity to Republicans.
Once and for all, Republicans have dispelled the notion that they are by and large embarrassingly bad at comedy — albeit unintentionally. Take that, Michelle Obama!
Here’s Malkin’s video, described by Buzzfeed’s Jack Moore as “unwatchably bad”:
Wearing a short wig with bangs, Malkin presumably is doing an impersonation of the first lady. While it’s true the video is lacking in flashy graphics, it’s an almost exact replica of Michelle Obama’s dance on “Late Night,” just with different dances.

Michelle Malkin is already hitting back on Twitter.
“Surprise. The Liberal Overlords of Comedy DO NOT APPROVE!” she tweeted. Many are pointing out that, in addition to lauding Michelle’s video, many in the media were delighted when Barack Obama “slow jammed” the news.
“Pres slow jams the news. 1st Lady bogies with comic. But Malkin is undignified?” Malkin retweeted.
NY Mag concluded: “Somewhere, someone is already working on an ‘Evolution of Conservative Dance’ video, and American politics will finally turn into the dance-off it was always destined to become.”
We’ve reached out to Malkin for comment but have not heard back.

As example of irrational hatred you guy have no equal! Let’s assume it’s not because she’s black and educated and has done for more with her life than all the, let’s say, less successful people here. I’m just going to assume you and Malkin hate her for some other reason.

Malkin did a lame little video, I don’t really care, it was bad but satire has been in politcal discourse for hundreds of years. Do you disapprove of Colbert? He does almost nothing but satire, I know he’s a lib, but I don’t care because he is tallented at his form of satire.
Maybe people would react better if our lavish elected officials would stop using them as pawns in order to propagandize a financial problem they created.

The President of the US is always faced with serious national issues. That doesn’t mean that the First Lady should never show her face, or be in public or support a cause, and if she does, she deserves to be mocked.

I went back through this particular thread and I didn’t see where anyone made fun of Michele Obama specifically. Actually, I think they all looked foolish. “Fun” is relative. We mock her because despite having placed her law license on “inactive status” she was given a position on the Chicago hospital where she made over 300K/year and it is questionable if she actually ever really performed any tangible duties under that position. Now this in and of itself wouldn’t be that important until you actually pay attention to her words where she in fact said “Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers, work for the community, be a social worker, be a nurse. Those are careers we need and we are encouraging our you people to do that.” We mock her hypocrisy. Maybe we mock her for the idiocy where “For the first time in my adult life time I’m proud of my country”. After all she should have to pride in her country prior to Obama’s election, it’s not as if she was admitted into an Ivy league institution with mediocre grades because she was part of a quota nor paid an exorbitant salary at some hospital where no one can actually recall her duties and whether or not if she actually earned her title and income.
No I mock her because despite her extravagant vacation while Americans struggle in the poor economy her husband created she has the audacity to suggest we cut back and live more meager lives. Her and her family cost the US tax payers BILLIONS more than the British pay for the Royal family.

We are sick of all the spending. But, why is it that you continue to live in the past without holding this president accountable? I laugh at the fact that Obama is still claiming he inherited such a mess over 4 years later and it is as bad as ever. Meanwhile you give Clinton all the credit for the economy he inherited from Reagan and the balancing of the budget done with a Republican Congress. It doesn’t matter who is doing the spending – all of them are doing too much and it needs to stop or we will be Greece. Unfortunately, very few in Washington have the political will to do the right thing and people like you are all about pointing fingers at the other side.

Unlike some, I do think she’s an attractive woman; I don’t just diss her just because I disagree with her politically. But her behavior and demeanor are inappropriate at times, in my opinion.
The Left knows that some of their voters get their “news” from the likes of Fallon, Colbert, and Stewart, and they cater to that audience (the low information voters).
