S.E. Cupp Pulls Out of CPAC Until Groups Representing Gay Republicans Are Embraced

S.E. Cupp Pulls Out of CPAC Until Groups Representing Gay Republicans Are Embraced

(TheBlazeTV)

TheBlaze TV’s S.E. Cupp on Tuesday announced she is pulling out of CPAC until the annual conservative gathering welcomes GOP groups that support gay marriage. Two prominent groups representing gay Republicans, GOProud and Log Cabin Republicans, will reportedly not be in attendance at CPAC.

“I go to CPAC every year. I love speaking there. It’s a great opportunity for conservatives, young and old from all over the world, to get together and sort of touch base,” Cupp said on MSNBC’s “The Cycle.”

CPAC has reportedly permitted groups advocating for gay marriage to attend, however, they are unable to sponsor the event. Cupp said that is a bit of a “cop-out” on the issue.

“We should be lucky to be having these guys do any work instead of turning them away. I don’t think we can afford that right now,” she said.”

“Ive been thinking about this a lot, and I know a lot of people on my side of the aisle have been struggling with this for some time now too,” she added. “I’ve been scheduled to speak at CPAC this year, and I don’t think I can until this issue is reconciled and figured out.”

Cupp said Republicans are divided on gay marriage, an issue that the party can “no longer seem to avoid.” She explained that several Republicans, including four former governors, have signed a legal brief arguing that gays have a constitutional right to marry. The brief will be submitted to the Supreme Court this week in support of a lawsuit to overturn California’s Prop 8, which limited marriage to the union of a man and a woman.

Cupp told TheBlaze that she has “enjoyed a wonderful relationship with CPAC for years” and even called the annual event “a highlight” of her year.

“But as a proponent of gay rights, CPAC’s decision to sideline GOProud and Log Cabin Republicans makes me increasingly uncomfortable,” she said. “These are conservatives who have had to work doubly hard to advance conservative messages and we should be rewarding them with positions of prominence.”

She continued: “Further in the interest of inclusion, it strikes me that now more than ever we should be celebrating our intellectual diversity, not suppressing it. It seems like we’re hardly in a position to be marginalizing any kinds of conservatives, let alone ones who have been so courageous in the face of adversity.”

Cupp said CPAC has every right to offer sponsorships and speaking opportunities to whomever it wants, “but until the conference stops shaming some of its most valuable advocates, it’s unfortunately not an event I can take part in.”

I am so tired of SE Cupp!! Her head has gotten 10 sizes to large for her body. SE thinks she is a conservative. She is the Morning Joe of The Blaze!! I will admit, I watch less and less of Real News because I cannot stand listening to her. She is the classic New York/East Coast Republican. Please don’t tell us how we have to live to satisfy your views. I will be happy when SE moves full time to CNN, MSNBC, or Public Television. Why is she on a Glenn Beck show or the channel. I gaurantee she is costing Glenn subscribers. I will not buy my college kids any more subscriptions to The Blaze until SE is GONE!!!!

The blaze posts these pro gay republican stories to get its barely human readers angry and by reading the responses, it’s the same old gay bashing absolute bs. Christian fundamentalists and the clerics that control their thoughts are losing the debate about equal rights more and more each day, but yet continue to randomly quote the bible or statistics that come from dubious or discredited sources to prove their point. I’m embarrassed for those people. Gay marriage and full equality under the law is an inevitability.

Right, and your comments are based on absolute fact. Amazing how you know that Christians are controlled by their clerics. Boy, like I haven’t heard that one before. I wonder how long it will be before people start supporting pedophiles? I’m sure that they are only doing what they do because it is in their genes. Maybe we should allow marriage and sex between consenting individuals or consenting humans and animals. Who’s to say who is right and wrong? Live and let live. If it doesn’t bother me, why should I care? Can’t say that I’m sorry that my belief in God and His Word offends you, because I am not.

Marriage is a social contract designed to protect children, hoping to keep couples together for the welfare of a child. (along with societal pressures)
This is all about extra entitlements, and at a time when we’re going into horrific debt. I vote to table this, and come back to it when we can afford any new costs.

The problem with the GAY movement is that they’ve become a political force – claiming to be minority – and they are now infiltrating Churches, forcing THEIR views and not respecting ANY traditional values. – straight from the SOCIALIST playbook. They’ve gotten to SE. If they would be civil, they would be more accepted. No big loss for SE to not be at CPAC…many ….many……. many…other TRUE conservatives out there.

THANK GOD, SE Cupp is about as ‘American Conservative’ as obama is. how she ever duped GB is beyond us. we dumped our THEBLAZE internet subscription because of the grade school level of some of these news articles ( example ” HILARITY ENSUES” as a rabbit runs for it’s life in shock and fear as a wolf closes in to tear it apart and eat it. “EPIC” video of a teenager slamming his face into a concrete wall…)
and while we’ve GLADLY without complaint spent $$$ Thousands on all of the Donations and GB’s books and t-shirts and long-distance trips to all the comedy shows and booksignings and RESTORING LOVE, we will not dump our $5 alacarte Dish* subscrip to THEBLAZE TV, we turn OFF the “REAL NEWS” because we do NOT want to hear anything from SE Cupp anymore.

Give Buck & Amy their own REAL NEWS hour —and send SE Cupp back to MSDNC.

If this was about “live and let live” I would agree 100%. But it’s not.

The bakery that refused to make a gay wedding cake is a prime example. The couple decides they want a gay wedding and the bakery decides he does not want to make the cake for it. I see no porblem here. This issue comes when the gay couple (or government) think the bakery cannot refuse to make the cake for it. Legislating gay moralities on everyone else is not a solution, it is the same problem we have now, just reversed.

These people will target the folks who don’t recognize same sex marriages for law suits. I know for a fact you won’t get the Catholic church to marry Homosexuals because it’s a sacrament and that is the final say and plus you won’t hear a peep out of the muslim communities or they would even approach that communty about getting married in a mosque or even a law suits. Cowards aren’t they.

I fly the same flag she does and although I defend gays living and let live I do not for one instance buy into gay marriage. She can do whatever she wants. Hit enter too soon….anyway SE can be there or not, who cares….People who attend can be gay or straight, who cares. Seems that they want to be a “show case”, too bad, conservatism isn’t about “show casing” any thing except conservative ideas and practices, so what’s the problem? If you are a conservative, show up and support the cause, if you want to be the center of attention, go somewhere else….simple, right?

Vaya con dios S.E. We’ll tell the cook we’ll be needing one less vege lasgne at table 4.

S.E. Cupp whether conscious of it or not is still a product of today’s education system read: liberal. To her this is about the words that Gay Inc. wants her to say..”free to love anyone you want”…”equal rights”…ad nauseum. She’s not seeing this in a clear thinking way. She’s seeing this in the way her educators and liberal culture want her to see it. And so she tries to erode conservatism from within.

In ten years the next S.E. Cupp will be boycotting CPAC because republicans are not giving public sector unions, illegals and reproductive rights a voice within the party. I mean….unions are there to make sure you’re not exploited by your employer and that you get your “fair share”. Illegals are just future Americans who really want to pay taxes and vote republican and reproductive rights are something a woman must have..I mean we can’t go back to the dark ages with this.

Its my position that government shouldn’t have anything to do with marriage in first place heterosexual nor homosexual. Marriage should be between my spouse, myself, my church and my God. I don’t know where the government should come in and define our marriage.

With that said SE is not on our side of the constitution and should not be confused as a conservative.
She is closer to a throw back blue dog democrat. She is a good fit at msnbc but she should have no place at a conservative circles.

To put it another way, the Que Ears are more important to the “Young Turk Conservatives” (I just coined that term–think the Torture Scene in “Lawrence of Arabia”) than The misnomered “Christian Right”.
Note the Trend Comrades. The Rocky Feeler Gilt Bird Cabin Conservative Free GOP marginalizes you. THEN the “Young Turk Liberterdian ‘Conservatives’”.

I guess nobody wants the Reagan Base.
Looks like not a THIRD Party, but a Fourth. Though I think what is REALLY going on here is the Inside the Beltlooper Ruling Class Aristo “Conservatives” like Cupp really want to be welcomed back into the GOP fold by riding the “Young Terk” Phromo and La Raza Reconquista Suck Up Movement.

The more the Prhomo’s rant, the more I vote “None of the Above.”

Exactly. They want special treatment, that is the problem. If they weren’t about pushing their agenda they would just go quietly about their business. I think they have a right to be what they want, regardless of how abhorrent it is, as long as they don’t try to push it as normal.
