At Least 1 Injured in Shooting at University Apartment Complex in S.C.

CONWAY, S.C. (TheBlaze/AP) — A spokeswoman says one person has been wounded in a shooting at a school apartment complex near Coastal Carolina University, and a lockdown of campus buildings has been ordered.

School spokeswoman Martha Hunn said the gunman was still at large Tuesday night.

She said dispatchers received a call around 7:20 p.m. regarding a shooting at University Place, which is adjacent to S.C. Highway 544.

A CCU Alert text sent to students read:

CCU Alert SUBJ:Active Shooter MSG:shooting Incident at University Place. All students stay in your dorm rooms and classrooms. Suspect at large.

CCU Alert SUBJ:CCU ALERT MSG:The shooting is not ongoing Police continue to search for one suspect. Stay indoors

Hunn said the victim was transported to a local hospital.

According to the school’s website, University Place houses almost 2,000 students.

Coastal Carolina University has an enrollment of slightly more than 9,000 students. Its website says there are 72 buildings on campus covering 630 acres. The school, founded in 1954, is in Conway, 15 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach.

It’s not Friday which is usually the last workday of the week. A day of social gathering for people of all ages with the solid goal of drinking as much alcohol as possible. Guns on campus and college students binge-drinking and using drugs to keep you awake and not fall asleep for studying don’t mix.
Somebody forgot to inform the suspect that its not party day. . . and campus is a gun free zone.

Wait till the elite remove the I 81 overpass from inbetween Syracuse University and Open the entire corridor to the hood on the otherside.Parents your going to be paying alot of money to have your kids constantly robbed at gun point.

That probably was some law-abiding persons gun the student was shot with and it was probably stolen by the shooter or bought on the street from another thief. What we need to ban to stop crimes with guns are “thieves” and I have a good idea how to get started, the second amendment and have everyone to make use of it.

This must be a legit shooting because only ONE person was injurred. When obama’s government is involved they go for the mass killings. Gets more publicity and sympathy.

Only the young ladies with eating disorders can vomit on demand. As for urinating, if some guy out there is horny and desperate enough to grab a complete stranger and risk everything just to get him some, a little diaper rash ain’t gonna stop him.

All the students in the vicinity urinated and vomited, but the shooter wasn’t there to rape anyone. 114 students on the second story balconies were apparently hit by shotgun fire from the ground level units. All are expected to survive, although some may have trouble urinating for a while due to the shotgun blasts.
