Sen. Dianne Feinstein Tells Gun Owners Semi Automatic Rifles Are an Unnecessary Personal Pleasure

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is vowing to fight for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” no matter how long the gun control debate rages on. During an MSNBC appearance on Monday, she said semi-automatic rifles are for gun owners’ “personal pleasure” and shouldn’t trump the nation’s safety.

“We will make the case that these weapons do not belong on the streets of our cities,” Feinstein said. “I recognize it’s an uphill battle. But I also know that these events are going to continue and America has to step up. The mothers, the women, the men of America have to make a decision as to whether their personal pleasure is more important than the general welfare.”

Feinstein said that an all-out ban on semi-automatic rifles is constitutional. Anti-gun lawmakers will make their case during a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Hearing on Wednesday. Some of the witnesses include, U.S. Attorney for Colorado John Walsh, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, according to the Washington Times.

“Grievance killers look for these weapons. These weapons are easy to obtain. There are no background checks. You can buy them out of a back of a car, at a gun show. America’s laws are virtually nonexistent and, therefore, I think this is a good bill,” she said.

“I intend to fight. I did it once before. If it doesn’t get done right now, be assured I will continue to press the case.”

  @ MRUNNER, A typical modern rifle round might travel in the neighborhood of 2200 FPS. The muskets that our founders used would fire a ball at roughly 900 FPS.
  If by “The second amendment is to make sure we never have to put up with the likes of Feinstein or her control freak colleagues for any extended period of time…” you would define the difference of 1300 FPS an extended period of time then we are in total agreement.

  I would like for Ms Feinstein, and all other gun confiscation advocates (let’s stop using their term: “gun control”) to look into the camera and explain to the American people what power grants her the right to ignore the Constitution of the United States and arbitrarily choose which parts to obey and which to censor.
  
  She needs to tell us who appointed her God to tell me that although I have a “right” to speak because the First Amendment grants me that right, but I don’t have a right based on the 2nd Amendment to defend myself with a weapon of my choice.
  
  You can cherry pick the Constitution all day long, but what AUTHORITY grants her the right to impose her will on us?

  Well I don’t think that Diane Feinstein serves as anyone’s “personal pleasure” not the way she looks these days… how dare she tell us what we want, need or desire.. She who has a “concealed weapons” permit, and I am sure that her husband does as well. It’s ok for her to pack heat, but not the general population. Diane Feinstein should get out the movie “Schindler’s List” and revisit it atleast once a week, just to remind herself of what happened to the Jews in Poland and all across Europe under Nazi Germany… they didn’t have anything to protect themselves either, remember that little girl in the red dress “Diane” that could have been your grandmother, or mother.   I was born and bred in California. It’s not all Hollywood/LA/San Francisco here. It has mountains, valleys, beaches, deserts, rolling hills, big cities, quaint towns, sunshine and snow. I love many parts of it. There are still a few of us of with critical thinking skills left here.   The stupid liberals want everyone else to pay for womens contraceptives, and abortions, but wont allow people to simply defend themselves. Its strange that the ******** are unable to comprehend that abortion kills thousands of kids every year, yet when a nutjob shoots up a kindergarten class they go nuts, this only proves that they don’t really care about life. And once the the Auto loading rifles are all taken away, then bolt action rifles will be only for pleasure. The you will suggest that muzzloaders would be appropriate since that is what our founders used, but no bayonets, since you could pke your eye out.
Once the guns are gone, then the roundups and the purges can take place.
