We Dare You Not to Enjoy This Viral Video of a 2-Year-Old Trying to Grab the Moon

(Image: YouTube screenshot)
Two-year-old Kayla is “obsessed” with the moon, according to her father. And now this obsession has been witnessed by more than 686,000 people as a video of her jumping and reaching to try and take hold of the moon has gone viral a few days after being posted.
“Go get it. Get the moon,” dad says in the video.

(Image: YouTube screenshot)
“I can’t reach it,” the distressed Kayla says after giving it a try. “Uh-oh, I can’t reach it.”
“Any time there is a clear view of the moon, she will excitedly shriek ‘THE MOON! THE MOON! THE! MOOOON!’,” Kayla’s dad with the YouTube usernameΒ denmoff77Β wrote in the video’s description.Β ”This was one of those moments, and it’s actually just after her initial freak out.”
Watch the clip:
denmoffΒ shared the video on Reddit, a social news and discussion website, and added that he usually doesn’t play along as much as he did in this video.
“I usually just ‘okay’ her until she stops,” he wrote. “But this time I played around with her a bit. She enjoys it.”
As an added bonus on the Reddit thread, the lunar puns that have cropped up prove quite entertaining as well . Here’s a look:
Ummagumma:Β I’d highly recommend getting her Eric Carle’s wonderfulΒ Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me. Great book that will have her over the moon. Yes, I said it.
Ummagumma:Β NP. My kids were moonstruck by it. Yes, I’m still saying it.
ElderBass:Β It sounds like that book will really crater to her interests.
CutiemarkCrusade:Β Oh look, a pun thread. Now it’s only a matter of time before people start waning about it.
SHMELL:Β Not trying to overshadow your opinion… but people will get punny anytime you seeclipse like this.
Vimsefreet:Β It’s like they’re tidal clockwork.
badgrafxghost:Β I guess some people just have to go through that phase.
derpinita:Β That’s enough bad moon puns. Gibbous a break over here.
Feel free to share your own moon puns in our comment section below.

Posted on February 27, 2013 at 4:14amAll I can say about it is, Lucky Dad, because he IS A Dad, I’m gay ,but am considering a new lifestyle since getting close to 60. I will probably never have children, but I can still dream. Some familes now a days are made of people who get along with each other plus want to raise children, These matches don’t have to be in a swept away kind of love. This is a clear minded agreement between two knowing, compassionate and responsible people. I can still dream of helping a child learn how to live.

I agree, I dont want to have kids either. It’s amazing that other people always look at you like you killed someone when you tell them you don’t want to have kids. It’s like it’s just what everybody does so if you don’t then something is wrong with you.
The only negative for a guy who doesn’t want kids is that most women do. So it’s not exactly an easy thing to find a woman who doesn’t either.
Soooo, are you single? Hahah:)

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 4:04pmOwl Moon is a great book that my girls loved having their daddy read them. They are all SO precious at that age, just like little sponges. My girls believed their daddy could give them the moon :-) He has always tried too. I love all the stories the hard working staff brings to us. I congratulate them on hitting a record number of visitors!

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 1:24pmI once watched a small boy walking across a parking lot with his dad when he first saw his shadow and realized it was him, He tried desperately to show his dad what he saw but his dad didn’t get it…instead he got mad at the kid for stopping . But at least for me at was a neat moment.

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 12:47pmOkay parents out there…. We need your help.
Allow your children to understand the world but not be of the world.
Expose them to many things for their betterment so they can formulate whom they want to be.
Let them dream and reach for the unobtainable.
Hopefully as the years go by goals will be developed and obtained.
And maybe… a life’s work, guided by His mind, will work for the betterment of all mankind.
Great or small, we all contribute forward and never forgetting the past because its what’s made US – not hindered US.
We need you children to dream big! One big leap; The 100 Year Starship Project. A request by DARPA, would be the culmination of Man’s greatest achievements. It involves so many disiplines. Huge challenges. A vast list of questions that need to be drempt about, even before we consider building such a monsterous machine or even traverse beyond our own Heliosphere. Although the money is good, $500K, do it because you’re a dreamer, do it because you think you can contribute, do it because its out there. Its so huge – a big, Big, BIG dream.
I know I look up in amazement in all that’s above us created for our eyes to feast upon each evening. We shot for the Moon and got there. Technology lept far & fast from there.
This is just one such far-out-there project. Find yours children…. dream, dream big. Its never too late.

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 11:56amMy oldest niece (now 9) loved the moon when she was about that age! It sounded more like “mewn” when she said it. One night on their deck in the summer she told it, “Get down here now, mewn!!”

You sound like you’re from the south. As a transplant in yankee-land, I’ve found that yankees don’t take “goodbye” as being as final as we do.
Where I came up, “see you later” or even “bye bye” was OK but “goodbye” pretty much means I’ll never see you again.
