Bob Woodward: Very Senior White House Official Warned Me Id Regret Attacking Obama Over Sequester

Appearing on CNN Wednesday, the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward said a “very senior person” at the White House warned him that he would “regret doing this,” referring to his outspoken criticism of President Barack Obama’s handling of the impending forced cuts known as the sequester.

“I think they’re confused,” Woodward told CNN host Wolf Blitzer. Woodward apparently went on to criticize Obama further over the sequester the same day he received the warning from the White House.

“It makes me very uncomfortable for the White House to be telling reporters, you are going to ‘regret’ doing something that you believe in,” he added. “It’s Mickey Mouse.”

CNN invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the offer was declined, Business Insider’s Brett LoGiurato reports. Video via Townhall:

Bob Woodward on Wednesday accused President Barack Obama of acting with a “kind of madness” in his handling of the automatic spending cuts set to take effect Friday.

He continued, turning his attention to the White House’s recent claim that spending cuts would prohibit it from deploying aircraft carriers to the Persian Gulf.

“Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’” Woodward said.

“Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document?” he added.

Woodward initially started his fight with the White House after he accused the Obama administration of “moving the goal posts” in its budget negotiations with Republican lawmakers. He also reported in his book, “The Price of Politics,” that the automatic spending cuts were actually Obama’s idea — and now he wants to avoid them at all costs.

Like I said – the reason why we’re watching ADULTS, fawning like little teenagers in heat over Obammy, is FEAR.

They wanted to be all-powerful, being able to claim credit for actually getting their Dear Leader elected, and were successful. Now, unless something happens to reverse course in the next three years, they will reap what they sowed, and they KNOW IT (history repeats itself).

I agree with many. This sounds like something Ms. VALERIE JARRET would do. She’s gotten used to the pomp, splendor, having mistakes papered over by compliant press.
Why would Woodward be doing this? Some very famous people enjoy what they do, and ssort of get used to believing they can make the White House, any White House tremble. Woodward will keep mum until Valerie starts making good on her threat. He’d best not wait too long though. There are some very dangerous people serving Obama (NOT serving the American people) at this time.

Woodward did it again..yeah ! Now that they have threatened him and he outed them for the threat wonder what their next move to shut him up will be? You know Obama is seething and they are planning some revenge because that is what Obama does.. he gets revenge.
I’m sure they are working overtime to get dirt on him so they can demonize him.
Can’t wait to see how this plays out. He needs to name the person who threatened him.

NO WHERE in N. Carolina’s statutes will you find an enacting clause, no enacting clause, no law to be broken! case dismissed due to lack of jurisdiction!

I find it tremendously comforting that Woodward, obviously on the left, has proven first hand that journalist integrity, thought to be extinct by many including me, is rare, but alive and well.

Who knows.. maybe the very journalist that helped bring down one President (Nixon) with his investigative skills and relentless desire to get the truth to the American public will continue to apply these skills and attributes to Obama and his administration and bring down another corrupt President and his administration.
