Joe Biden Has More Gun Advice: ‘Just Fire the Shotgun Through the Door’

If you prefer to be armed, Vice President Joe Biden really wants you to get a shotgun. During an online town hall event recently, Biden advised women to get a “double-barrel 12-gauge shotgun” and fire “two blasts” outside if they feel threatened by a home intruder.

Well, now the vice president has some more gun advice. During an interview with Field and Stream, Biden advised gun owners to “just fire the shotgun through the door.” He also doubled-down on his claim that most people can “handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon.”

Here’s a partial transcript of the interview via Field and Stream:

F&S: What about the other uses, for self-defense and target practice?

BIDEN: Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense. I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.”

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal.

A Texas gun shop owner who spoke to TheBlaze refuted Biden’s claim that a 12-gauge shotgun is easier to handle and use than a semi-automatic rifle like the AR-15, which is known for its ease of use and accuracy.

He said a 12-gauge shotgun can be difficult to use for some people. Having taught many women how to shoot, the 21-year gun industry veteran, said the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle is “better suited for a lady.”

“It would be better for all-around home defense and it’s one of the most accurate guns out there,” he added.

In the same Field and Stream interview, Biden also said that anyone who needs a “clip” (actually a magazine) with 30 rounds in it is a “danger” to themselves.

“If you can’t get the bear or deer in four or five shots, you’ve got a problem,” he said.

Ha .. a shotgun can be a defense alright, up close, not much good against a sniper position I have noted tho. And shotguns are awkward in close combat .. as everyone, with a brain knows, as opposed to a hand pistol, and knife attack. Aahh Joe Biden, a crack-pot looking for a home.   If we look it up, I must believe we would find Uncle Joe has stock in a shotgun company.
  Obviously a liberal socialist, if he has to allow the people to own a firearm, will pick the one most ineffective against the State’s armory of weapons. What in the world can you do with a shotgun if the police have you held up in your home? It doesn’t have the range or accuracy to fire from a held position while a “law enforcement” contingency pins you down, and holds media interviews about the crazy gun owner that must be stopped. It is ALWAYS a justified shooting when the police encounter someone with any kind of gun, so if you have a shot gun you will die and they will tell the story of what was truth.
  Also, imagine Biden’s advice to those seniors he spoke to in the retirement home. Can you imagine Granny firing a 12 gauge from her power scooter? Even IF she managed to have it on hand, even if she managed to get the drop and get off an accurate shot and did “blow gray matter all over her kitchen right before dinner with meatloaf” (you have to read the article to understand the lunacy of those Biden statements), she would then have to activate her life alert pendant because the kick of the shotgun would have shattered her brittle shoulder, flipped her scooter. She would have then cracked her skull on the floor in the fall and broken her hip, and probably died before the police showed up to draw the chalk lines. Stupid Biden – guns are for adults.

  Actually IF someone is trying to break into your home ( not just knocking on the door), you are justified to shoot through the door to stop the threat in Ky. The state laws give you the right to use deadly force if some breaks into OR ATTEMPTS to break into your home. This is how Ky statutes define our castle law. Random firing is proscribed under Shannon’s Law (some ******* fired “joy shots” into the air to celebrate Cinco de Mayo or something, and killed Shannon Smith, a young student who was outside). It is a simple rule. Buy a flashlight for those evil AR-15 rail systems for night use. You do not have to point it directly at a person to light up a large area.

Notice how the czar of gun control under implemention of other options on semiautos.Knows full well government cant ban the ar type assult weapons.So he is putting a peanut in everyones brain that even though we can’t ban them so a shotgun would do you better.He pushing the hidden truth that infact their hands are tied.You should’nt buy a gas powered car but a nice electric car would help in the long run.

This just gets more hilarious and bizarre. Shoot through the door? Now THAT is incredibly stupid. No responsible firearm owner would EVER shoot through a door. Oscar Pistorius is going to end up in jail for doing that, even though I think he shot his girlfriend on purpose. ALWAYS identify your target before you pull the trigger.

Biden’s shotgun advice for women is incredibly ignorant at best, and stupid at worse. But, if you need a chuckle in the face of this stupid debate, you gotta watch this:

You have got to be kidding me.

You don’t shoot at people without knowing who they are or what their intent is. That is the most irresponsible thing I have ever heard. If it was local law enforcement, you would guaranteed to be taken dead and not alive?

We are sick of being water boarded by the Democrats and the media, dunking our heads in the ice water of denial, thinking that if they do it enough, we will become delirious and say what they want to hear?

We do not negotiate our silence with domestic terrorism, terrorists, or domestic enemies of the US Constitution. We will not be intimidated to surrender our civil rights that have protected Americans for centuries, for the broken promises of politicians in the future. Amend the US Constitution or stop water boarding us?

  NOTHING proves the idea that Joe Biden was completely unqualified to lead Obama’s little post-Sandy-Hook working group, than Joe Biden himself. I am pretty sure that the only person in that group who actually understood guns, and gun safety, was Wayne LaPierre.
