Joe Biden Has More Gun Advice: ‘Just Fire the Shotgun Through the Door’

If you prefer to be armed, Vice President Joe Biden really wants you to get a shotgun. During an online town hall event recently, Biden advised women to get a “double-barrel 12-gauge shotgun” and fire “two blasts” outside if they feel threatened by a home intruder.

Well, now the vice president has some more gun advice. During an interview with Field and Stream, Biden advised gun owners to “just fire the shotgun through the door.” He also doubled-down on his claim that most people can “handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon.”

Here’s a partial transcript of the interview via Field and Stream:

F&S: What about the other uses, for self-defense and target practice?

BIDEN: Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense. I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.”

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal.

A Texas gun shop owner who spoke to TheBlaze refuted Biden’s claim that a 12-gauge shotgun is easier to handle and use than a semi-automatic rifle like the AR-15, which is known for its ease of use and accuracy.

He said a 12-gauge shotgun can be difficult to use for some people. Having taught many women how to shoot, the 21-year gun industry veteran, said the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle is “better suited for a lady.”

“It would be better for all-around home defense and it’s one of the most accurate guns out there,” he added.

In the same Field and Stream interview, Biden also said that anyone who needs a “clip” (actually a magazine) with 30 rounds in it is a “danger” to themselves.

“If you can’t get the bear or deer in four or five shots, you’ve got a problem,” he said.

Wait a minute Joe your the VP Right? You may have just given gun owners who own a shot gun a legal right to shoot some one through the door and get away with it. Oh Joe most gun owners are smart than that. So (Joe) who are the dummies with guns?

Maybe some one with a legal background in guns can clear up this question as to weather VP (Joe) can set a president by saying it OK to shoot through the door?

Vp’s light bulb grows dimmer by the day. If someone is outside your front door, you have no legal reason too shoot them through your door. That would be murder in any situation. Most defensive shootings of an intruder by homeowners, is done after the front door is kicked in, or as a result of some other kind of illegal entry. Anyone who is stupid enough too follow low wattage Biden’s advice
would have too be stupid enough too have voted for him and Obamus !

Download the video he made and keep it on your phone or somewhere safe. Then anytime you feel like popping a couple of “blasts” off of your patio deck and the Popo show up, just show them that the VPOTUS gave you permission and actually instructed you on how to do it properly. Since there has been no comment by the US Attorney General Eric Holder to the contrary, it must be okay. I’d love to see someone take this before the court!

Oh Biden, actually if you need more than one shot to take down a deer and with the right caliber to take down a bear,MAYBE TWO,then you should go back to the shooting range! An AR is not for hunting, although you can use it succesfully. The right to BEAR arms doesnt litterally mean BEARS like ROOAAR BEAR,you tool. I seriously think he thinks that. It’s IMO to aide against a TYRANT GOVT I have a Ruger Mini-14 shoots 5.56 and .223, a .223 being a more than great hunting round,but I dont use it for any hunting but coyotes and rabits and other varmit. My SKS alsoshoots 7.7×56 rounds good man killing and deer killing round, but my ks collects dust,hits a Norinco with Jungle Paint my grandfather rippedit from the dead hands of ha Zipper Head and used it to killmore zipper heads! So collector piece to me. Any who, my Mini is a GREAT self defense gun, it has a fully loaded 30 Round Magazine or for Biden a CLIP, and I have 3 more loaed ones and 2 60 Round ones and yes a 75 round DrumMag, that is because I can have it, plus I whon’t have to reload when I get a bunch of whitlepigs in fromt of me. Just ordered my wife her .380 and I LOVE my LUGER 9mm that I have the stock 7 round mag and quite a few double stack ones that hold 15. My wifes will hold 6 and I believe I’llbe able to get some double stackfor her to.More guns to list but my favorite selddefense weapon is my 9 and my Mini 14. And my pump wingmaster 12g puts my wife nearly on herass BTW but my MINI is wonderful for her.

  AAANNNDDD, I do haveh my Concealed Carry Permit but I open carry since constituanally that is the only legal way. I wont argue that concealed carry could technically be illeagal, hbut why argue I urge everyone to OPEN CARRY your firearm, it has benefits of its own, would you mess with someone who has a pistol strapped to their side? I sure as hell wouldn’t! And I urge you to teach yourh children thhe himportanceof Gun Saftey so you can do what I do and feel comfortable, I’m blessed to live in Idaho where this is legal and our gun laws are practically not even around. I have every weapon except formy bolt action and slidehunting rifles constanly loaded with one in the chamber, my pistol is also always cocked and loaded, its those miliseconds that are so very crucial between saving a life or your own life so the slide lock is also very accesible on my fire arm it can be unlocked as I ahm drawing it. I practice it when ever I have time, because even though I live in little old Bhoise, Idaho, a robbery, home invasion, car jack,or mugging can happen ANYWHERE ANYTIME be prepared and always carry, OPEN or CONCEALED. Also know your right and your cases, incase you hace a liberal Obama loving power hungry cop that thinks he can jerk you around. Its happened to me, I was stopped because I was a person endangering the hpublic and scaring peoople with my gun, I was walking down the street after parking my car and meeting my wife at a restraunt.CARRY AND EDUCATE!

Several things come to mind,
1: Is Jill Biden really safe with loon?
2: Joe should never be allowed to own a firearm, due to mental instability.
3: Joe, NRA has several firearm safety courses you should invest in. I would suggest you start with “Eddie the Eagle” course first.

I never answer the door unless I’ve invited that person to come visit. Family or friends know to call first. So I will not be shooting someone through the front door. Now if someone breaks down my front door I know it’s not family, friend or UPS. Once they’ve crossed the threshold, they’re fair game and I will shoot to kill. (I’m always armed. Even when getting up from the couch and walking into the kitchen for a bite to eat or going into the bathroom. I have never been and will never be a victim).

This moron (VP Biden) needs to check the laws in most states as shooting through a door will result in the shooter being prosecuted unless the crook is shooting first. Biden needs to stick with his soundless video ops because every time he opens his mouth it just confirms how stupid this guy really is. An AR-15 or hi-cap pistol (neither of which is an assault weapon) in the hands of a trained user will provide greater protection than a double barreled shotgun.

Joe one of the first things my dad said about shooting was “never shoot up in the air, what goes up must come down, and you dont want to be standing where it falls.” Joe’s an idiot and doesnt get it. I would never shoot through the door because thats how people get hurt, guns dont kill people, stupid people with weapons do.

Oh great a whole lot of guests are about to be blasted on the other side of our doors.
sounds the the door is a real problem.
We may need to eliminate it.
Ban doors- end the breaking in entering = reduced crime

Granted, I would use a shotgun in a house to avoid drywall penetration into a couple of other rooms.
I hate using it. I hate practicing with it.
With an AR-15 you can accurately write your name on someone’s torso. Now that is “piece” of mind.
